always thought that about dr and nascar too, he also seems to really love the us so could see him settling there.
It’s a PR disaster. Oscar was so well liked in the community with everyone rooting for him to get his first F1 seat, but opinion seems to be changing now… including myself in this

oscar really woke up one day and thought “i am going to have the most dramatic entrance to f1 ever”
i was wondering about his fp1 session! surely that can’t go ahead now with all this, but i would absolutely love if it did.
helmut’s comments about pierre yesterday kinda made me sad too. basically saying he has to stay as red bull third choice because no one else can do it - free him from rb, they’re wrecking his career

Pierre must be so desperate to get outta of RB the Grim Reaper and Mr Geri Halliwell do not give him the credit he deserves. Perez must bring some money.

i think perez brings big bucks tbh, a friend of mine was in mexico a few months back and was blown away by how many billboards and advertisements he’s on
i also think (purely from memory) that his father is a very popular figure in mexico - i want to say he’s a politician but i could be wrong! he definitely brings a market that pierre sadly doesn’t.all pierre needed really was a little bit more patience when he first took that rb seat, but i guess they were used to having young drivers just hit the ground running and not needing that extra attention. it’s such a shame for him career wise as i think, on a more nurturing team, he would have done so well (like, picture him having george’s career path!)

yeah RB need Checo to keep a presence in Latin America which is a huge market. Pierre must be so worn down by it all. I know the drivers are all rich boys who can handle themselves but he's been treated quite poorly for years and it's not nice. I hate how cutthroat it all is sometimes

i mean obviously he’s living a decent life, doing his dream job, making a ridiculous amount of money and slagging around with models and whatnot (
) but i do wonder really what impact it has on him. he knows he’s with a team who didn’t/don’t really value him and that he’s really just being held there as a well paid third choice. must be hard when so many of his peers from that generation, including his best friend, have gone on to “better”. i always like that charles makes a point to mention pierre when he’s asked about that group of drivers. but then writing psychological studies of f1 drivers is my favourite thing. hopefully he’s fine
