Guys I’m confused. Isn’t it mandatory to pit? I thought it was a rule that you have to race on at least two sets of tyres?
It's only mandatory to use two compounds of dry tyres in a dry race. In a wet race, that rule doesn't exist because a wet race might need to be all inters or all wets, so you can't mandate two compounds.

What’s going on at Mercedes? Strange strategy.. Is it the pressure?!
I’m a Max fan, so happy with this result but Lewis did not deserve this. Could have been P3 for him.

So looks like I missed a dull ish race. Mercedes and their strategies 1 week good 1 week not good. Hindsight is a wonderful thing! Nice to see Bottas win, funny that now now he is leaving he seems to be driving alot better. Maybe a lot lifted off his shoulders.

Hmmm I dunno. He felt ok but his car was off the pace, and they could see on their data he would have been caught by those behind and lost those places anyway. Plus, his tyres were bald when taken off, he also risked them completely going, or spinning.

Agree! Realized after posting that Ocon lost pace as well in the end.
maybe he should not have turned the first ‘box box’ down.. We’ll never know.😉

Can’t sleep so catching up on any F1 news I’ve missed over the last two weeks… just read about Andretti buying Alfa Romeo?!?! Which leads Colton Herta linked to the seat 🤯🤯

Supposedly announcements are incoming on that in Austin. That would shake things up for sure.

We still need at least one new team in F1 desperately. Too many drivers, not enough seats.

Hopefully VW Group do come into F1 under the new engine regs and be a team as well as engine supplier.

Stefano Domenicalli has already said he'd try to get the other teams to agree to waive the $200m entry fee that got put in the regs when they changed the prize money distribution.

Blimey!! Would really shake things up! Makes sense for the announcement to be at Austin too. They don’t joke when they say things change quickly in F1

I wish they would stop putting teens/ barely 20 boys in F1. It is way too early, and they become seat fillers.
I think around the age 23 would be better.

I agree actually, they have plenty of time to move into F1, once they've got a better grounding. Would be better for them too, able to mature without all the pressure of F1 weighing on them.

Completely agree. These boys need time to mature. The pressure must be HUGE.
The difference in the number of teams on the grid from thirty/ forty years ago to now is astounding. Fingers crossed more teams do come into F1.

Problem is because there are so few seats, they have to take the opportunity, because they may never get the chance again. But I do agree that they are coming into F1 too young.

I agree it takes time to mature into f1 and some drivers come in and out within a season they need some grounding prior maybe they need to look more into reserve driver seats to help experience it

Its not new information. This has been rumoured for a while. It's public knowledge they have been involved in the discussions with current teams around the next engine formula for 2026, with the view to possibly joining.

But VW Group have been considering joining F1 in some form for about 10-15 years I think, and we are still waiting. Honda have gone, come and gone in the same time. 😆😆

F1 calendar announced for next year.

I love that F1 seems to be committing to Imola. Covid has some positives since we've been to classic tracks again instead of generic Tilke-dromes.

China no real loss to the Calendar. Though I imagine F1 would like a Chinese race for the potential audience.

I would happily like to see the back of Spain though. Circuit de Catalunya is just not a great track for racing. Keep it for testing.

As my memory is rit when was last German race?
The races seem all over the place Miami in-between Europe races? Yes a good break between them all but just a little odd. The jet setting will be crazy!
