They have apparently sent the money, just awaiting confirmation.

Neither have I. For all the names floating around being linked with that seat it’s a bit odd to go with a rookie who was never mentionedPoor Logan’s career is over. I’ve never heard of the guy who’s replacing him for the rest of the season…
The question is who? Who’s more experienced that would be available?Silly having some f2 rookie in that seat. They should have gone with someone experienced to limit the damages.
They are so long out of F1 I can't see either of them being worthwhile alternatives either. They could have gone a bit old school and raided old Mercedes reserves like Stoffel vandoorne and Esteban Gutierrez if RB won’t happy to loan out Liam. It seems that they asked quite a few people but no one was that willing
This is what is strange to me too! I don’t follow junior categories. So I’ve never heard of the replacement, but he seems to have very limited f1 experience. Since Williams don’t have a reserve driver, I’m guessing he can’t have done lots of sim work and/or testing for them either like Doohan has at Alpine??? I could be wrong! It's still a bit odd to let him race 1 race and then replace why not during the break then time given to newbie?
Plus maybe save the car being smashed up again?
As if he isn't going to out brake himself into turn one and bin it into someone.Shall we all have a sweepstake on how many laps completed before the newbie prangs it?!
I wouldn't be surprised if this is tied to sponsor money - as in: they pay for the second half of the season if Logan is driving in the second half, so they have him do the one race to tick this box. It's still a bit odd to let him race 1 race and then replace why not during the break then time given to newbie?

Yeah could be right as Williams need money.I wouldn't be surprised if this is tied to sponsor money - as in: they pay for the second half of the season if Logan is driving in the second half, so they have him do the one race to tick this box.
Antonelli showing how the kids do it alreadyAs if he isn't going to out brake himself into turn one and bin it into someone.
Although will presumably do some damage in practice/quali as well.
It was inevitable. He's been rushed through the junior ranks too quickly, had all the pressure heaped on him by Toto, and he just isn't ready for F1 yet.Antonelli showing how the kids do it already![]()
But maybe only for 2025. The press keep erp going on about Max going there. Yawn.Antonelli confirmed to Mercedes for 2025, not his best entrance!
