I’ve been reading on Twitter she’s blocking people for calling her comparison to a rapist unfair. People that have followed her for years and bought her books have been blocked all because of that.
it’s like Chidera is gambling for the big prize (of florences profits), and she keeps doing more and more to get it.
Blocking people who have supported her is insane.
i really do not agree with calling someone a “rapist”, its a HUGE disrespect for genuine victims of sexual abuse and grape.
I don’t agree with “all white people are racist”, you want people to not marginalise you for your skin colour? Please don’t do it to others.
Her language about this whole situation has really upset me and disappointed me. Do better

Sorry but I just think her stories are utterly nonsensical at this point. The comparison to grape really disgusted and angered me, and as other people have pointed out she is encouraging her audience to harass Florence and Munro by relentlessly tagging them in about a million stories a day
Chidera has gone full blown witch hunt now and it’s all over “coffee table feminism” which is easily digestible and easily regurgitated hence why there are many many books dedicated to the subject.
gotta say idk why she’s so up in arms about the fact that there are tables in Waterstones dedicated to Florences book and that hers isn’t being advertised... well didn’t florences only just get published? It would make sense for a shop trying to maximise sales to display a newly published and popular book over one that was published a few years ago.
I can understand her anger at the management company because they probably could have tried harder to make sure the content for Florences book was different enough from Chideras but the fact that most of the flack is being dished out at Florence when she probably had less to do with it than we alll think is kinda sexist IMO slightly ironically

I’ve followed Chidera on and off for years (I think she’s a highly toxic person) and it’s really really difficult to not see this as an opportunistic grab for money when her whole schtick a few years ago was about rinsing men for money and money only, she was always banging on about how she should be paid or have money spent on her if she were to give even a crumb of her attention to a man 
I had to laugh at Chidera linking to a talk she gave where she talks about married women being lonely. As far as I’m aware she’s not married. She would therefore know nothing about the subject and should leave it alone but she’s a young woman who thinks she’s wise beyond her years and can speak on other women’s experiences. She stole her ideas from sex workers but never paid them reparations and now that Florence has been more successful in the same field she’s kicking her toys out of the pram.
Most of the stuff she comes out with was copied from online sex workers, black women for the most part. She’s been called out on it over a long period of time but she just ignores it. She’s fallen out with so many people because according to her she’s right and everyone else is wrong *all the time* and she’s ridiculously rude about it.Is there a thread for Chidera? I’ve seen quite a bit on Twitter where people are saying she has copied sex workers and other black women. There’s a woman on twitter called @imani_yvonne2 she is a dating coach and slumflower used to hang out with her at one point but then I believe she used a lot of Imani’s ideas to write her second book (not sure as I haven’t read that one)

Florence Given makes me cringe the most out of all of them. The fact that her “feminism” lacks any class analysis says it all.
Don’t even get me started on her posing in a pornified way, yet just with a quirkier hairstyle, so obviously she’s not at all conforming to patriarchal standards for women. No way. She’s totally able to understand that the current idea of what passes for sex positivity and empowerment has been moulded by the patriarchy, porn addiction and even capitalism to have the exact same effect as the types of oppressive media representation of women that she & her friends rally against - but our Floss, she has a haircut that men do not like and therefore it is totally empowering and entirely her choice within a patriarchy-free vacuum when she poses with her shirt open and her nipple almost popping out! She’s not trying to conform to any male-gaze led standard. Oh no sir. FFS!

Lanvavalentine I totally agree with you. Both Chidera and Florence have the most basic reductionist version of feminism. I studied feminism at uni for both my Undergrad and Masters degree. We looked at international theories of feminism, state relations both inter and intra and I looked at the role of feminism as a political theory. It genuinely was life changing.
These women think that feminism begins and ends with how we feel about ourselves and how we feel about men. It’s so self concerned and not at all about women. Both women have enormous ego’s.

Yes, she is not perfect. But Chidera is, as someone mentioned, HARRASSING everyday and all day about the situation. I am not a fan of Chidera, but she is under no obligation to discuss what happened yesterday just because she stands for anti-racism, or indeed because she’s Black.

I hope you understand where I was coming from... she has obsessed about this for weeks now and has been non-stop on her stories writing long messages about the situation, when there are, in my opinion, far more important things happening in the world, and far more struggles/ injustices going on, whether that is the pandemic, mental health crisis or anything else. I am saying that as someone who does not believe her work was intentionally "copied" or "plagiarised", and that it is coincidental, same style of instagram feminism they have both profited from, FG has correctly referenced and credited Chidera and undoubtedly lead to more sales of her 2018& 2020 books... I think Chidera should step-down from asking for 100% with book pulled or 70% book stays, because that is totally totally unwarranted.
