whats wrong with supermarket chained vouchers? How materialistic, that is someone’s food shop for the week which you wouldn’t know if their staff would want or need. I’d absolutely love my food shop paid for (and a bottle of gin!!) You’re also missing off the other vouchers- amazon, local shop, voucher of their choice, I think you’re being slightly unfair even if they are slightly showing off they “treat” their staff.

I don’t get what’s not to understand about my point...I said it would be better to give them a bonus or cash so the employees can decide themselves how to spend it, you’re limited in what you can choose at Asda and I don’t think ‘buying soneone a good shop’ is a nice gesture at all. If they are paid fairly they shouldn’t need to be bought a food shop, what if they’d rather have the money to buy Christmas gifts for their kids? It’s weird and paternalistic to say ‘here’s some money but I choose how you spend it’. Extremely odd behaviour.

I'm talking to all the hinch bakery fans that come here calling us large, weird, jealous, mentally unwell, worthless etc and fail to see the irony.

I wouldn't serve up my children and private life on a locked down private profile with a handful of people I know. Yet this cake shop likes to do it. They're entitled to, but don't complain when people have opinions on it.

Vouchers from an employer is an in work benefit and tax is due on them if someone earns over 8k ish. Makes no difference if it's cash or a voucher.

Vouchers under £50 aren’t taxable for the employee regardless of their salary as a pp mentioned, it’s a trivial benefit. A bonus of £50 in their wages would be taxed so their staff are actually better off for receiving the voucher than a monetary equivalent.
My employer gives love2shop vouchers and we all love receiving them and most people do spend them at a supermarket for their Christmas treats.

I think the advent calendar is a nice idea tbh.

A voucher to spend £50 on your weekly shop then gives you the ability to use the £50 you’d normally spend on something else such as a gift from another store.

In all seriousness I like the advent - nice idea. But such a humble brag.
I get posting the raffle = more donations but to keep re hashing how ‘amazing’ they are to work for/with is clearly to justify thing written here.

Wish them all the best in their new location & well done for raising money for age uk.

But the over hype is too much for me. Finally unfollowed.

The only issue with that advent calendar is that if most the girls are under 21 then they won’t have their own place. I know I wouldn’t have appreciated a voucher for marks and Spencer’s at 18 cause it was just irrelevant then. Would love it now!

I never used to mind finch bakery, wasn’t mad on the stuff they sold but I found them quite funny. Gone off them a lot though, tried their blondies again over lockdown and I just don’t get the hype at all! Ive recently ordered from Alanahs bakes (ABC) and they were so much better!! She’s in Accrington and seems lovely on social media. I think they’ll really start suffering with other bakers coming through now doing postal and having shops

I don’t think this is unreasonable, my workplace do the supermarket vouchers at Christmas, usually get a discount through the supplier if you order over a certain amount too.

You do know you can buy a different voucher in asda with your voucher. i used to get an Asda one each year and go in store & buy an Asos voucher, you don't have to buy your turkey with it. Of all the problematic things they do at times, the vouchers aren't one of them i think. bragging about it is unnecessary.

BTW i think whichever's daughter Alba is so cute, i actually want her saying 'oh you look beautiful' as my alarm tone for an early morning boost of confidence!

Lancashire is in Tier 3, top of the charts for numbers of infections and the local Hospital is at breaking point with covid cases. The Finch Bakery circle live in an area of Lancashire known as the Ribble Valley - which is pretty much inhabited by daddy’s princesses, spoilt children and people who feel they are are way more superior to anyone else - and will do what they want.

... i'm from the RIbble Valley ... that cut deep! .... in fairness we have one of the countries lowest infection rates we're just surrounded by the highest so we're stuck in with them! Not defending ANY flouting or breaking of the rules i've been stuck in my house since March & been very strict. Daddy let me use the summer house in lockdown (that bit is a joke)
