🧡 🧡🧡🧡🧡 - PERFECT!

Great. I would not worry too much about the drains right now. Just keep the loo seat down. That will take care of energy from drains creeping in. Also if you are able to maybe keep the plugs in the sinks throughout.
Can you confirm what colour your front door is? Is it placed at the angle you have drawn in - i.e is there a triangular porch area? I suspect you have just drawn the way it opens but just want to make sure. So as you look from the front of your house the front door is positioned to the right?
Do you eat in your kitchen or the L shape part of your sitting room or both?
Are you saying that you are concerned that the energy of your house feels negative or are you asking if your house suffers because of the neighbours energy please? I don’t want to say too much until you have clarified this. Also are the neighbours attached?
Are you able to say which areas of the house don’t feel right to you? Are there any children in the house?
Also, what would you most like to achieve with your house?
You have placed your bagua correctly - you can also use it room by room by standing in the doorway of each room and holding it in front of you - so for instance your relationship area in your sitting room is in right corner and your wealth area in the left corner from the door. I would be tempted to start in that room even if your kitchen area tends to get used more.
Which room is your bedroom above please? Which room is/are first floor bathrooms beneath?
Where is back door positioned please?
Where is the sink placed in your kitchen and where is the cooker?
Roughly when was your house built and how long have you lived there?

As far as the energy goes you create it by placement and very often your own outlook. You can change energy very quickly though simply by moving things around and using intention. Certain placements draw in different energies. Sometimes energy can become stuck or stagnant. Sometimes it can move too fast. So its all a matter of degree and fairly easy to alter what you don’t like. The best place for a rose quartz crystal is where you have marked X. Is that presently a cupboard? I note it does not seem to be part of the bathroom or the kitchen.
Amazing, thank you so much for your insight. I thought I would try the floor map, but as you said perhaps areas won’t align so I will do each room too (I just wanted to check I had the right idea)

to answer your questions:

The awful line of a front door is to show where it sits. It is black, and it opens inwards at the angle I drew. The door is positioned slightly to the right hand side (there are two little dashes to show roughly where it is, and then two windows either side)
We eat in the left hand side of the kitchen where wealth meets fame. The kitchen is L shaped and from the dining area you look straight down to the lounge area
My parents bought this house many years ago (20+) and my husband and I bought it off them For many years it was unloved and very well used and when we bought it we spent a lot of time and money re doing it and it feels like a new house. Almost anyone who comes in says it’s not like it was. I feel like our home is very happy, and I adore it. I don’t want to change anything but I do want to understand it and see where I can help things be their best if that makes sense? My mums house interestingly enough that they moved to has caused her constant health issues and that it something i would love to delve deeper into that once I understand FS well.
our home is attached to our neighbours. I don’t think our home suffers due to it but I just thought aloud if this was possible. It just seems that every family that has lived there has had issues (alcohol issues the family before. The family now have sleep issues with their child and argue frequently)
We have one downstairs bathroom. It is opposite the front door but the toilet is around the corner (where the black dash is in the bathroom)
The X is in the centre of the house and is an airing cupboard! The block next to it is just structural wall.
Our bedroom is above the front room, and we have one toddler, whose room sits above the family area. (So both bedrooms are to the left hand side, ours to the front aspect, his to the rear) we would love to have another child this year.
The kitchen is extended out so the first floor sits above the central part of the house so the larger part of the kitchen and dining is an extended area if that helps. The dashes at the top part of the lounge show where the kitchen is out as an extension.
Back door is on the left hand side wall, in the middle roughly. The cooker sits almost smack between the middle of where creativity and health sit, and then the sink it on the opposite wall, but there is an island in the middle. I think perhaps I should do a more details floor plan of that may help!
house was built approx 1960’s

Love the idea of the rose quartz in the cupboard. We have many plants around the home, almost one in every room (when the light is favourable)
I am just trying to think about what energies feel in each room. We have started to close the toilet lid (recently trained toddler so easier said than done!) and closing the drains so will see how that presents to us.

When the bagua map represents body parts, how does that reflect? Is there certain things that can help the body? My mum had awful thyroid issues last year and still suffers as a result with memory loss and her asthma is also quite chronic. She had acupuncture last year which helped tremendously when she had hard circulation issues due to it so I am interested to see how changing her home might help possibly

once again your knowledge and insight is fantastic and thank you so much for your time!

Brilliant! Thank you. You seem to have intuitively got a great deal right! The reason I specifically asked about your neighbours before commenting was because I wasn’t sure that you liked your house or not. I am really happy to hear you do and so you have a great start! As far as the neighbours go it’s interesting that there is repetitive energy seemingly hanging there isn’t it?

I was going to suggest you got a black front door but you already have one :D . Tick
If there is a bedroom on the middle right upstairs that would be the perfect place for a new baby.
Just to be clear its not wrong to use the bagua floor by floor but it simplifies it to do placements room by room.
Your mothers health might improve if she clears her house and pays special attention to the middle of her house area. She may well benefit by joining us on the Clap For Great Energy Day. In the meantime ask her if she could have a big sort out getting rid of things she doesn’t love or use. This includes any crockery that may be chipped or any door handles that may be broken etc - anything is broken if she could try and get it repaired maybe it would be good to do so. I’m going to have a longer think about your mother and will get back to you on that. Just to ask first - did she get a big shock before she started with her thyroid issues?
You have some great positioning with your layout especially in your kitchen. If you want to make tweaks you can work on your SE and SW areas of your sitting room and put a rose quartz in the centre in front of your fire (assuming the oblong shape you drew in is a fire) and that there might be a table centrally. In addition you may want to put 2 small rose quartz together in SE of your bedroom along with any happy photo of you and your partner.
I love the idea that you don’t want to change anything but want to understand it. That’s so good. Tick, :m

amazing, thank you so much, How funny about the front door being black!

I will look to get some rose quartz and dot them around the house. The oblong is a chimney breast so faux fireplace but we have some wood logs where we can place some rose quartz. interestingly I have loved reading about crystals many years ago and the rose quartz has always been my favourite. We actually only have one bedroom to the right that you mentioned which is one we have always said would be for a second child so I love that you mention that!

I do find it really interesting about our neighbours. It seems very dejavu!

as for my mother, thank you for your thoughts. I don’t think there was a shock, but it started slowly at the start of the pandemic and peeked in the summer. Her respiratory issues got worse as when they moved to their house, they had a lot of work done and the dust triggered many of them. Years later it seems the same though the work is all finished!
interestingly, my mother is a hoarder! I will encourage her to have a clear out and look at the centre of her house which is between a downstairs bathroom and her dining area. She is also someone who seems very - how can I put, hypochondriac and seems to always feel unwell than well. I think this is mentally more than anything so looking forward to presenting these ideas.
another thing worth mentioning is after they bought the house the woman they bought it off mentioned her husband had died there. They have had many interesting situations (doors closing/electrics breaking) previously although my dad did have a conversation asking any spirits to leave them alone and it has since settled. certainly a lot to get though isn’t it!

OK so you might get some opposition from your mother if you suggest she space clears her house! Even when you offer to help I have heard it‘s hard for some hoarders to let go. I can promise you she would feel so much better if she did and the energy would come on in leaps and bounds. She could still clap her corners if she wanted to though just to improve the stagnant energy. Hypochondria may link into validation issues perhaps. Shock can be a trigger for thyroid issues so that’s why I asked. So - easier help for her might be to put an amethyst in SW area of her bedroom. Do you think she might agree to space clear just her bedroom perhaps? In addition might she be able to put a metal Wu Lou (image of a heaven and earth gourd) next to her bed to absorb negative health problems? You might want to read up on Kua numbers to find out which one she is and try (if possible) to get her to face in her kua number direction when she sleeps and also when she sits in her sitting room - if this helps these are the directions;-

Kua
1. E
2. W
3. N
4. S
5. NW
6. NE
7. SW
8. NW
9. SE

In addition an orchid or live bamboo might help placed in her health area downstairs if possible. Live bamboo can be better received as a gift.
Plus water imagery is not good in a bedroom so if she has pictures or paintings of water best they be swapped with pictures of mountains. Pink sheets may help too. The best place for her to start would be her bedroom. Even if she just Spring cleans and manages to clear that it might be a really good start. Light and clean windows and fresh air might be very helpful for her (as they are for all of us). I think it might be good for her to have a white or a silver coloured front door perhaps but only if she actually would like that of course.

How did you cleanse the house?
When I knew he wasn't returning again to pick any more things up, I made sure all his belongings were gone. Then I opened all the windows and set the intention that I would be clearing the house of negative energy and asked that energy to leave my home. I have a singing bowl which I used and struck the bowl in each corner of each room until the sound was clear. You don't need a bowl at all and can do this using your hands. You stand facing each corner and clap, if the energy is flat then the sound the clap makes will sound dead, believe me, you'll know what I mean when you try it. I continued to clap in each corner until the energy/sound was right, it has a ring to it. I also used Sage, which I burnt in each of the rooms, starting at the top and working my way down, having the doors open so the negative energy could leave. Once I felt satisfied that it was okay, I then ran a thin line of salt on the ground outside of every door (including the garage as you could get into the house via that route) to keep the negative energy at bay. While I was doing all this I played some music, no lyrics, I can't remember what it was, but will have been a CD that I bought from one of the 'Hippy Shops' that I love. I also burn Nag Champa incense sticks from time to time, also bought from the same shop, although I tend to buy mine online now.

thank you so much. Luckily she knows she is a hoarder (not so much a hoarder but she isn’t opposed to clutter like I am!) and it is something we joke about often so I don’t think she will be opposing.
luckily her bedroom is very clutter free and light with the window open all of the time.

I will look for her Kua number and do some reading on that too!

Funnily enough she has had orchids in her health area before, the light is not great but I shall look for that or bamboo perhaps as a Mother’s Day gift. I will ask for her to think about clapping and search for an amethyst for her room.
Thank you for your help 🧡🧡

This is all very fascinating to me. I nearly married a man many years ago and a lot of his life defining moments were punctuated by stairs. His father worked in a building whereby my ex as a child had very strong negative memories of climbing many stairs to get to the father. When he found his father dead in his house years later, he remembered walking up the stairs to his apartment vividly on that day. I, in fact, met him on a stairwell, when we were introduced. He was a troubled man and quite draining to be around. If I joked around, I was accused of being superficial, and really, I was never enough.

Now that I’m learning about the circulation of positive chi around stairs, I’m reminded of this.

I saw what you did there - orange hearts - perfect! ;)

Welcome!

If its any help to you, when I started to become interested in Feng Shui over 25 years ago I bought a lot of Lillian Too books. There are quite a lot of helpful videos now on YouTube too. If you don’t immediately gel with the presenter move to another until you find one that feels right to you. There are several different schools of Feng Shui apparently. I think the basic tenets are more or less similar though.

Thank you that's a fab idea! Time to fall down the rabbit hole of youtube videos!😂

oh apologies. I got my dates wrong! Thank you! ❤
No problem. Your post got me thinking about stairs quite a bit. I’m reading about them today. I can understand why they are a feng shui challenge due to the opposing energy going up and down. I think they should be wide enough for two people to pass comfortably, be well lit, the materials shouldn’t oppose each other, and maybe include feng shui imagery on the wall half way up.

I am slowly working my way through that website, there is loads of information on there. It is so helpful x
So agree. I’m so happy, also, that @Oops has explained that we don’t have to do everything that the FSM said. I love that she said she didn’t want the diagonal desk or the water feature in her study. You know, we can make changes without it in any way jarring with our own plan for the room. X

Yes, I got rid of lots of things, I had to sell the house as I couldn't afford it on my own. I downsized considerably, but I love this house I am in now. It's not grand at all and for my daughter and me, it is enough. I hope you find your happy, I did x

I am a bit of a renegade though and no FSM would condone what I have said - no way! It was suggested to me that I wasn’t fully immersed in the project. This triggered me a bit since I was immersed enough to pay the eye-watering day rate of the Practitioner - humph...I was immersed but just could not live with some of the suggestions but did my best to work around them. I have no qualifications in the field but I have studied it for MANY years and friends have had some very good results when following advice and some have been a bit surprised at the diagnostic skills especially over illnesses. Sorry if I sound conceited and this sounds like trumpet blowing. It’s just something I enjoy a lot yet cant see the point in surrounding yourself in placements or items you don’t love or enjoy since they become irritants for your energy.

are we still doing group clap tomorrow?
I think its likely to be on last day of Feb or first day of March to welcome in a new month and also to give us time to space clear and for any newbies to be given a chance to join in. Someone here said the Sunday was good for them. The Sunday is good for me too. How does everyone feel about doing it on the last Sunday of February (I think that’s 28th) I hoped we might all be able to do it at the same time too if that would work (time zones permitting) Let’s see if we are able to set a date and time soon maybe? @PixelGirl has described the methodology perfectly...so that’s so good for us all. :m

This looks great thank you. Its really good to have alternatives so you can go along with the one that feels right to you. I love that.

We do have other bedrooms we can use but this one really is the master as its got the large ensuite and dressing room off it, so don't really want to give it up! Literally every room in the house, upstairs and downstairs has beams, it's a 300 year old farmhouse so they're an integral part (rather than stick on ones like Lydia would choose ;-) ) But I could move the bed a few feet over so the beam isn't directly down the middle of us, or can put a canopy or something over it to defuse the energy. I'm definitely going to look into it.

It's weird because this is really a total dream house, but from the day we moved in, the most awful things have happened - literally my worst nightmare scenarios. At one point I was convinced it was cursed. I even ended up burning those wooden African face masks that we had, as I heard they can be cursed or bring bad energy. It was a souvenir from Kenya that we brought back from our honeymoon and I burned it in the fire!

In the last 6 months since I've done a lot of clearing out and sorting and putting things in order, things have been notably better. No arguments, much lighter mood etc, but I have considered trying cleansing with sage and getting crystals around. At one stage, I even said we needed to sell because I was so sure the house had a curse!!
I would definitely try a decorative canopy over the bed to blot out beam when you lie in bed. Also if you can move the bed enough so that it doesn’t hang over either of you that would be great until you get the canopy sorted out. If it feels right for you to move though maybe have a little look at Rightmove - you never know something perfect may be there that both of you and the dogs would love equally. Are there any areas in your present home where the dogs don’t like going or try to avoid?
I too have heard about African masks. I think you were wise to remove them. Sounds like you are very intuitive to me and can tell when something doesn’t feel right. You can open all your windows and ask any negative energy to leave (I did this only last night in my home and try to remember to do it regularly.) I also ask all positive energies to remain and I actually say it out loud. Space clearing always helps as you will know because you have done a lot of it and seen that things improve. I am doing another space clear before we clap our corners. I’m particularly checking for chipped crockery this time as I have never done that in the past. That means that I am going to have to say goodbye to some of my Suzie Watson crockery that I love so much And also some of my beautiful Swedish white heart plates too...drat! Also I am really tempted to seriously cut back on loads of stuff on mantelpieces and chests just to see how some of the rooms feel afterwards.
I know exactly what you mean about your dream home though... I never thought I would move from mine in Bath but in the end I had to. I hate giving up on anything but it just got beyond...
