I love Elle and all her content and think she writes to beautifully and raises awareness in such a delicate way although I have to say I find it a bit odd this Instagram break. Like I mean I get it, I think, but for someone who’s life and carer as such came from Instagram, who shared so much and really connected with her followers I don’t quite get the secrecy around the new baby and the complete cold turkey of coming off Instagram completely

I honestly believe that by sharing news of the baby it will help to reassure those parents who have suffered similar losses.

Perhaps she will write a blog post as she says she won’t share the baby’s name or photo on “this platform” (IG). At least then it is only accessible if you want to see it and will not automatically pop us as it might on Instagram.

However she is quite clearly still on Instagram because she’s been replying to loads of comments this morning

I used to like her so so much and can’t believe I’m about to write this but she is just as bad as the others. She has a friend replying to her DMs saying how stressed and anxious she is (totally understandable) but the same day is doing Hello Fresh cooking vids. If you’re that concerned and worried then leave now and protect yourself, dont do 8 stories in a row about a beaded necklace.

and before i get roasted i think its devastating what happened to her son but as people have pointed out on here before there are some baby loss accounts that just focus on that as their main cause. She has had an increased amount of jo malone, white company, ivy trips, hello fresh etc over time and by that merit becomes an influencer. i have zero opinion on her sharing the new babys name/face. Hope all goes very well for them with a healthy baby.

I dont have an issue with her, am delighted she now has her baby and understand why she has taken a break. i just think these instagrammers arent our friends, they use their followers for their own means and basically to make money.

I don’t think she is my friend, and I think she did a great deal for others that we didn’t see. She had bereaved women and families contact her daily, that has to take its toll. And if I remember rightly her first book the money made was in aid of Tommy’s, not lining her pockets

What was the purpose of her account? Was it to raise awareness and support other parents going through the same? Because as far as I am aware, she shut the door in the face of most who reached out to her. She didn’t shut the door on The White Company or whichever company it was who provided her with an outside seating area..

I hope she does come back though, people want to “ask her her name”!

I think she balances her #ads with charity work. I think a lot of her fellow IG’ers could learn ALOT from her!
I don’t believe she initially set out to make money/get freebies like so many. I think initially it was awareness and somewhere to document her journey. I think the majority are out there to get as many freebies as they can, I just don’t get that vibe from her?
I also feel like she won’t ever show this babies face. I don’t know, I might be wrong but I think she will keep this rainbow baby under wraps as much as possible? I hope she does and I wish her a healthy and happy rest of her pregnancy

It baffles me how people are willing to spend £50 on acrylic knitwear. ACRYLIC!!!!

Wow! I refuse to wear acrylic, gives me shivers, just touching it. I would certainly not make my child wear it and certainly would not pay that money for it too. I thought they are all into ‘organic’ stuff. Clearly not. Or maybe it is organic acrylic

If she didn’t want to share any part of it, then she shouldn’t have announced it! She could have become a bit of a remote page of information for bereaved parents if that was the goal. But untimely, she’s still earning money off then book, the ads, the gifts etc. I find it all bit distasteful and double standards tbh

This is what frustrates me about her.. she’s here for the good bits - the attention, the praise, and the freebies... aside her kitchen she’s never really shared much at all with her followers at all. Total double standards, and very disrespectful when she relies on people opening up to her and sharing.
