Has anyone smelled Tom Ford's new one 'Ebene Fume'? what's it like?

Also, I don't know if anyone remembers the original Comme Des Garcons perfume with amber coloured liquid in a flat bottle? I used to love that - still not sure if it's for men or women though

That’s brave re secretions magnifique! I have exit the king here but I haven’t smelled it on my skin yet. I made a paper sample of it and it’s curious. It makes me think of exploring the cool edgy scene in SoHo, New York.

I am very interested in Exit The King. I used the quiz someone here posted to see which perfume is nearest one you already like. Apparantly Exit The King is close to Knowing by Estee Lauder. A woodsy aldehyde with rose notes.
What do you think?

I think I'd like this, it seems it's a sort of dupe for Mmmmm...by Juliette has a Gun and I love that one!

Been going mad with samples lately trying to find a spring scent, so far I've liked:
Tom Ford - Lost Cherry (not spring ha)
Jo Malone Myrrh and Tonka (likewise...)
Maison Margiela Jazz Club
Imaginary Authors - St Julep
Byredo - Mojave Ghost (this is GORGEOUS, I thought I didn't like fruity but this one...)
Dolce and Gabbana - light blue (this is a classic, used to wear it when I was a teenager so I assumed it would be rubbish and too 'teen' but it's great)

I really want to try:
Calvin Klein - Reveal
Mac - Turquatica
Jo Malone - Wood sage and Sea Salt
Chloe - Chloe
Ariana Grande - REM

I got a dupe for Lost Cherry and its soooo nice, I've been wearing it to work all week lol (definitely more a colder weather perfume though).
I got a sample of Wood Sage and Sea Salt and i love it so much, Jo Malone tends to disappear on me after a couple of hours though so not sure I can justify buying a bottle. I'm still hoping these dupe perfumes companies copy it.

I wear Calvin klein Eternity Moment in a pinkish bottle in the spring and summer. It's really subtle but long lasting

I've become obsessed with smoky sweet smells. Baccarat Rouge 540 (or Ariana Grande Cloud as a dupe because I'm not a millionaire), Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille (or Mac Velvet Teddy because same), Maison Margiela Replica By the Fireplace, By Killian Back to Black. I'm on the hunt for something more spring/summery but I generally don't like fruity or floral smells which is a problem. Maison Replica Lazy Sunday Morning is lovely, smells a bit like washing powder but in a good way.

I'm still trying to find a dupe for Le Labo Santal 33 because I got a sample and fell IN LOVE but the dupe I bought (SJP Stash) is not quite right and also discontinued now I think.

I love Dior Hypnotic Poison for this reason. Some of the Chanel ones are more spring/summer - Coco Mademoiselle is fresh without the fruit or flowers?

Stay away from the FM ones anyway that’s for sure!
I did try an online store for a dup , it smelt like toilet cleaner.
I do think you get what you pay for with high end perfumes

Yes, you get what you pay for in terms of scent and longeivity.

Plus, Jo Malone now do 50ml, as well as the 30ml bottles which is nice. Their scents are strong so you really do not need to use a lot.

This might explain it. I get loads of sweet vanilla with some floral but I suppose it depends on your nose and skin chemicals

I think that Fragantica description is pretty accurate. I couldn’t put my finger on it but vanilla is right, as @Inforapenny says! I actually don’t like vanilla in candles and lotions etc. but it’s kind of a deeper, darker vanilla, maybe more musky? It’s definitely warm and rich.

Oh my godddd I was about to comment this. I’m obsessed with this. I don’t have a bottle anymore but I wore it constantly about 10 years ago. Best smell ever.

I was just thinking about britney spears perfumes the other day and how much I loved them when I was teenager! I might have to look this one out again!

I love it still after over 10 years! Every birthday/ Christmas I always ask for some so I have a constant supply

This thread has definitely given me some new ideas once I am able to get out and sniff at the counters again. Read an article recently about the resurgence in sales of long established fragrances cos folks aren't getting the same opportunity to shop for the new stuff and don't want to part with fortunes on scents they've not been able to try.

Thought it might be fun for folks to share their first "fancy" perfume (you know when you graduated from a body shop special or the like).

For my 16th birthday (many many moons ago), I remember getting (not choosing) Magie Noir by Lancome and Fleur des Fleur by Nina Ricci. I remember feeling properly grown up and sophisticated
