Morning I saw a Reddit post where they asked what their favourite cheapest perfume was. Can anyone recommend any of their fave cheap buys at all? Thanks
4711 will always have my heart. Plus Glow by JLo, Ghost original and the excellent (but sadly long discontinued and now being sold for absolutely bananas prices on ebay) Queen by Queen Latifah.

4711 for me too. I was on a work trip to Köln this year so had to visit the shop and get some bits and bobs. There is a museum section upstairs which is interesting.

This genuinely looks fascinating. *Adds Köln to travel list*
It's small so plan some other stuff. There's a chocolate museum on the river and the Cathedral is worth visiting. Also the gold room in Saint Ursula Church.

A chocolate museum? Well. That's done it. SOLD!

Of course, Cathedrals! Art! Breathing in cultured continental air as a cultured continental visitor! :m

All seriousness though, it does sound like a nice little mini break, so thank you very much for the extra recommendations :)

What an amazing museum section upstairs.

Wow that looks gorgeous. I adore those old bottles, did it smell heavenly ?

While I’m here can anyone recommend a velvet oakmoss woody fragrance not sweet but classic ?

I need a fragrance for Christmas

Has anyone smelt Ffern Autumn 25? I love cosy scents, but not sure if I’m being drawn in by the name and the advertising!

Knowing by Estee Lauder. The new formulation no longer contains oakmoss but it's very close to the original as far as I can remember. I saw it in M&S the other day so had a spritz, it's gorgeous this time of year. 75ml EDP is usually £88 but £58 in Boots at the moment, sold out online but I saw it in store.

I sent it back, I swapped for the rhubarb one. It’s slightly smoky but not very exciting. I did like the dry down but not enough to keep it. I’ve had a fair few of theirs and they have largely been very similar, until this year when it’s become more distinctly different to the previous. I won’t get any more. The violet one is nice but none of them have been life changing.

Thank you, I’ll leave off trying for now then! 😊

You’re welcome. I think they are very expensive for the strength and wow factor, if you put the small batch, organic-y-ness aside, they’re just not really enough of a unique experience.

Hahaha I'm sure it smells much better on you 😂. I'm sorry if you own it and I've said nasty things about that fragrance.

I go on all those fragrance subreddits and just watch reels on tiktok about perfume. I probably wouldn't know how to describe them apart from that. You know when people say "oh there is a cardamom note" or whatever? I'm just like "it either smells nice or not." 😂
Same i either Iike the smell or don't 😄 my little samples are almost gone 😬 I think i spray too much 🫣 like I'm not shy with perfume and i easily do 10+ sprays when I wear perfume so I'm not surprised they're almost gone 😄 I think carnal flower, gentle fluidity gold and grand soir i would purchase eventually. I liked most of them but they were the only ones that I really liked 👍

Father figure by phlur was gorgeous too and I would buy but not sure it's long lasting

I was a bit meh on the original: I liked how it smelled in the bottle but it didn't do much to develop on my skin, whereas the intense changed and got deeper and sweeter and I couldn't stop sniffing it 🤣
I have it in my Boots basket ready to check out but it's already on special offer so I'm not sure whether it's worth waiting for Black Friday - right now it's €158.10 for 90+10ml and 700 extra advantage card points (which is €7 in points, right?) if I order before 11 November.
I want to get the best possible deal as someone is getting it for me as a late Birthday present 🥰
Enjoy ❤ 🎂 perfume is always the best present 🎁 🥰

I remember you saying you were sampling BDK perfumes and also some Frederic Malle. Do you not think you would buy Musc Ravageur after all? I was looking at it the other day and thought of you as you said it gave you Christmas vibes and I'm looking for seasonal perfume 😂

Are Gentle Fluidity Gold and Grand Soir very different? On Fragrantica they said they're both "Oriental Vanillas" but that could mean anything really.

Haha I am sometimes like that, or I go nose blind to a scent and end up spraying more. I always think if I don't get a compliment on a perfume the next time I wear it I will just spray more of it. I think I end up choking people out more than enchanting them 😂

Thank you! I agree 🥰
Finally ordered today as I had an extra points offer on the Boots app, so that's another €15+ worth of points to go towards my next perfume purchase! I'm tempted to play the very long game and save towards Tom Ford Rose wick but like you, I enjoy using a good few spritzes of perfume each day: I reckon even if I "only" used 4 sprays per day, the 30ml bottle would last just under 3 months 😱

I bought something off vinted and they seller included some perfume samples for me (and also a hourglass mascara lol, not sure if it was an accident, or if she’s just very generous?)

but anyway, are these any good? 😊

Where might I get jean paul gaultier aftershave samples in Ireland?
Tween wants an aftershave for Christmas, liked the one JPG he tried in the store and I'd like him to try before I buy. His dad has the Le Male one he can try, but its the other ones that I would like to source.

Do chemists do them any more?

After someone kindly mentioned Noted Aromas doing 5 x 5ml boxes (thank you), I ordered:

Annecy- Inspired by Angel’s Share
Marrakesh - “ Delina
Mombasa- “ Bal D’Afrique
Jaipur - “ Hibiscus Mahajad
Chamonix - “ By the Fireplace

So far Annecy is my favourite! When I smelt Angel’s Share in Space NK I was disappointed as I’d had it hyped up so much, but if it’s anything like Annecy, the dry down is amazing so maybe I need to try Angel’s Share on my skin!
