The price is also disappointing..
I wont buy it.
I don’t get the point of bringing it back different AND really expensive? If it was exactly the same, there’d be a market. Different…why bother?!

You tried them! ❤ :D Do you think you will splurge on Carnal Flower or Angels Share now?

I didn't realise Musc Ravageur smelt like cinnamon, I might have to try it. I agree with Portrait of a Lady, but I think it gets a lot of hype because it is quite distinctive (and strong) too.
Yes I got a such a christmas vibe off MR. I am so terrible at describing things though 😄

I would definitely buy carnal flower. Think I may wait till I use up do son though because I've got that and gucci Bloom on the go.

I think I may just bite the bullet at christmas and buy angels share 🫣 i know i shouldn't risk buying a 50ml but everyone seems to love it! Think its supposed to be a cosy winter scent also 🥰

You have your eye on anything nice? 😉

It sounds so intriguing, I quite like spicy scents so I might try and get a sample.

I get more spring / summer vibes from Carnal Flower I think. White floral scents like that which are slightly green always wear best in the summer to my nose so you have a fair few months to save ;). I use Gucci Bloom and Do Son exclusively in the summer.

Will you get it in the sale? I hope you like it. I wonder if it will come with the little testers like Diptyque sometimes has so that if you don't like it you can just return it.

I just had a few samples come through the post today that I am working my way through. I had Diptyque's Fleur De Peau, which I had sampled a few years ago and wasn't keen on. I have recently got into skin scents and so wanted to try it again but there's something in it that I really don't like.

I also sampled Le Labo's Rose 31 which I hated when I first tried a few years ago as well. It has a distinctive cumin note but I've not found it so bothering this time around. I also tried Glossier You which has no lasting power, and Frederic Malle L'eau d'Hiver which is a really delicate iris scent that's really clean and airy. I feel like a lot of Frederic Malle fragrances are quite loud whereas this one is really soft. Definitely keen on it and I have some referral credit for AllBeauty so I might get it, I just want to test the longevity :D. I also tried Naxos by Xerjoff which is a tobacco and honey fragrance with citrus top notes - really liked that as well and it is strong.

Hi everyone and @HelloStereo ❤ my brown thomas order arrived yesterday 😀 nothing massively exciting but I thought it would be good to sample brands I've never tried.

The MFK are teeny tiny samples 🤭 I've loved apom, gentle fluidity gold and bacarat rouge. I thought grand soir was paticularly special. I'd love it on my husband but would definitely wear it myself.

I also wanted to try frederick malle of of course carnal flower 🌼 😉 which i was certainly impressed with. I'm liked portrait of a lady also but thought it was a bit hyped up online. Really liked musc ravageur also. Definitely reminded of christmas and if you like cinnamon you'll love this.

Next I wanted to try phlur. These were the cutest I think 7ml bottles. Perfect for a little handbag. I liked them all but loved father figure the most and rose whip. Rose whip really reminded me of delina exclusif and I'm sure it is a hell of a lot cheaper to buy!

That's it now til christmas 🎄 😌 😄 🤣
Just an FYI to get the discovery sets from the perfume house themselves if you can. MFK give you extra samples with their orders and Frederic Malle give you the purchase price back against a full size

I got my sister to pick up fleur de peau in duty free last year and I didn't like it all that much at first but it grew on me eventually. I have to say i don't reach for it like I do, do son though so its lasting ages :ROFLMAO: I wonder what these are like? 275 euro for a 100ml 😬

Have my eyes 👀 on this set over Christmas. Didn't think price was too bad for 10ml sets. I think I've sampled the rouge smoking one before and liked it 😃

I was on Reddit and someone said that they thought Fleur de Peau smelt like tina to them and it just really put me off it. Whenever I tried to test it I just thought of musty genitals 😅. There is one note in there that sticks out and really bothers my nose.

I've tried Lilyphea from that line of Diptyques. It is really nice, I think it is waterlily. It is definitely more of a spring / summer scent to me though. I'm not sure about the rest, or why they are more expensive than the other Diptyques.

I want to try Rouge Smoking by BDK, that is the cherry one right? I have tried Gris Charnel and really like it even though I tried it last year and didn't. I'm not sure if I need another tea fragrance in my collection though, I already have Dear Polly, The Noir 29 and Indigo 😬

Tried Rose wick today and oh it's so lovely but way out of my price range tbh. YSL Libre Intense is more my speed, still expensive but there's a decent Black Friday offer on it in Boots ❤

I am like a woman possessed trying to find a dupe for byredo bal dafrique if anyone can help me out until Santy comes

Not sure if you've asked Google/AI/I don't know the name for anything... so I asked, and hopefully this might help:

"The popular fragrance is Byredo's Bal d'Afrique, and some recognized dupes or similar scents include Emir Vibrant Vetiver Delight, Dossier's Floral Vetiver, Chez Pierre African Day, and Ceremonia Perfume De La Tierra."

I have a perfume parlour oil that is a dupe for bal d’Afrique and it’s very good - long lasting and great value.

Sounds flash AF but this summer I took the wife and kids to Galimard fragrances in Grasse, France - we each made our own fragrances with guidance from a pukka perfumier - my wife finally has a fragrance she loves after years of trying everything and anything.

If you're anything like her and get 'close' to what you want but are never truely satisfied - a visit is well worth it if you can. I like aftershaves that start light and progressively get heavier - I was able to create just that with smells I love.

The best part - we can order our fragrances direct from their website and get them shipped using a code given on the day. You can also create your own 'remotely' at home and they will store your fragrance for reordering via the website - obviously you don't get the full 100+ scents to choose from but I'm guessing its still fun if you can't get there, plus you are guided by a perfumier online.

Someone kindly gave me a Bath and Body Works lotion recently - I had asked her what scent she was wearing as it was just exactly what I want to smell like!
It's a beautiful scent so I turned to Google to see if I could buy a perfume that smelled like it and as it turns out, it is a dupe for Baccarat Rouge!
The lotion is called In The Stars.
Thought some of the Baccarat Rouge fans here might be interested in a low cost dupe!
I can't really afford to buy the actual perfume and even if I saved up, I've a feeling it would ruin all other scents for me 🫠😬
(Sadly Next don't seem to stock the lotion but they have a few other products in the range including hand sanitiser, body scrub and shower gel)
You can also get an "In the stars" body spray too.

I did this with Molinard in Nice. I wanted to recreate the discontinued Fragile by JPG. A great experience with experts to fine tune my attempt.

I have a John Lewis gift card and was thinking about getting the Tocca and Maison Margiela Replica gift sets. I'm trying to figure out my signature scent and thought these might be a good place to start given they'll be free. Are they worth bothering with or should I try something else?
