Can anyone help me out on the perfumes that are like YOU by glossier?

Similar but not exactly the same are molecule 01 and not a perfume by julliette has a gun. They’ve got similar elements.
I’m not sure there’s any glossier dupes, Zara has a perfume in rose which is supposed to be very similar.
Glossier have just launched two new perfumes one is gourmand and one is more woody and unisex if you want a flanker option

I agree with not a perfume Juliette has a gun but defo not a cheaper alternative and doesn't last much longer imo. I'm sure there are dupes of glossier out there though.

Also on fragrantica you can look up a perfume and it has a bit with 'this perfume reminds me of' and people add similar ones, the most voted ones are shown first. Apparently there is a bath and body works one called kaleidoscope that's similar

Tried the new Glossier duo.

Reve is very soapy and very sharp on me. There's a bit of a Bakewell Tart opening that disappears pretty swiftly before settling into a long lasting Imperial Leather soap and pick'n'mix shop combination.

Doux smells like salad on me. Straight up spring onions, dill pickles and lettuce. Dried down vaguely woodsy, but quite weak. Disappointed as I usually do well with fragrances thst have a violet note.

Neither are similar to original You on my chemistry, so if that possible similarity was a reason you were interested I'd definitely advise sampling first. (PSA: even if the website says "please choose one sample" I've found that you can add both samples with no problem).

Heading off to London soon, and going to skulk around Liberty. Has anyone tried their LBTY range of fragrances? Any stand-outs worth sampling while I'm there? There's a paucity of reviews on this range out on the big ol' Internet and (because?) they're so expensive so I'm wondering if the range is a hit or a flop.

Thanks for the reviews! I’m going to give them both a try. There is a note that pulls pickle-y on my skin and I’ve never been able to pinpoint what it is, so I’m intrigued to see what Doux smells like on me. Reve sounds like it would be right up my street.

I think it's sandalwood as all the perfumes with it have that smell to me. I actually like it lol.
It doesn't look like Deux has sandalwood but it has Palo Santo which is another woody notes with similar properties to sandalwood so I guess it could be that?

I’ve tried a few of them. I think they’re overpriced - or at least they should sell bottles smaller than 100ml.

Actually I tell a lie, they do sell 8ml handbag size bottles for £45

There’s one that’s very orange blossom based, and orange blossom fragrances are ten a penny IMO. I quite liked Tudor which has a fresh ginger note, but then I smelled Tam Dao by Diptique which is basically identical to my nose.

I’d rather buy Diptique fragrances personally. You can get a 5 x 10ml sampler set for £105, compared with Liberty’s offer which is 3 x 8ml and £100.

Interesting that you mention Diptyque wrt the LBTY range; I've seen a couple of the, admittedly sparse, reviews mention Diptyque as a comparison so I wonder if Liberty were using them as a kind of template when they were at the drawing board -natural world and rich textile inspiration kind of thinking - albeit with way more exclusive price points. Seems like a few perfumistas have, consciously or unconsciously, connected some dots. Gmta, and all that!

Anyway, I fully intend to make good use of my provincial lack of shame and long arms to get away with spritzing all the exclusive to London testers I come across, from armpit to wrist (I kid, I kid... honest...).

What bugs me, @yessenia_d, is when brands decide they want to place themselves in a very premium, very high end space, and they only way they can do this is to charge absolutely eye watering prices

Thank you! There’s no cheap ones it seems which is odd given the ingredients. I think I might just try making my own at those prices. I’ll let you know how it goes!

I'm not buying Glossier You anymore because the price is eye-watering these days, I remember when I first bought it and it was like £45! (plus they changed the formula years ago and this one is just not the same)

MOD by Ariana Grande are really nice and subtle perfumes for everyday.

Zara perfumes are nice but they discontinue them all the time so I can't be bothered to sift through them by the packed out till area to never be able to buy it again lol

I got a bottle of Estee Lauder Sensuous from allbeauty - it was £32 so I thought I'd chance it blind. It's warm, comforting and very non offensive - but sensuous it ain't unless you're over 70 I've layered Chanel Gabrielle over it and it's given it a bit more oomph.

Has anyone used any fragrance by DS & Durga? They have a ‘fragrance enhancer’ called I Don’t Know What and it is *divine* by itself but apparently meant to be used for layering over other perfumes.
Wanted to buy but woefully expensive.

Spack NK stock it if you can find a store close to you with it. I love their pistachio scent they’ve got really interesting ones but no blind buys for sure.
