Before starting any cooking activity they should do a social story with her that explains that they are going to COOK now EAT later....this could also be tied in with a "First...Then" board. I also think that since they have the space and set up that all meals could be eaten in the dining room. Having that clear distinction would definitely help someone on her level to know the difference between "eating time" and "cooking time".
