I wish she was more honest about how sometimes she probably can’t opt out. Like the TS concert. She was joking about how she got a bedazzled sick bag but it was essentially an ad, probably with a contract she couldn’t get out of…

having to keep up engagement and content while feeling miserable is def not something I envy rn. Neither is having plans and having that pressure

I’ve not listened to her podcast but the way she was going for people in the comments doesn’t have me want to. Em doesn’t seem to want people to have different opinions to her on anything

I used to really like Em but now find she’s always so miserable and negative that I’ve had to follow as her content brings my mood down. She’s moaning ALL the time be it her life or someone else’s, I use social media as an escape from the misery of the world

Honestly something needs to be said for it being ok to not want another child if your first pregnancy is miserable.
I know her husband is supportive etc but I seriously don’t get why she’d put herself, her husband and her child through this…
Like yes you want another kid I get it but it just seems like… maybe we need to talk about not pushing the “pushing through it” and “so worth it” culture?

Yep, HG shouldn’t be a prerequisite to having another baby.

HG is a bit more than being sick and miserable… she got hospitalised because of it. Also she works from home a lot and has far more support than others.

Please consider how many people could spend the majority of 9 months in bed / resting.

I didn’t say its the main reason or it should stop anyonr but there is still a lot of stigma around women out of a second pregnancy if the first one was traumatic in any way.

she obvs wasn't going to let HG prevent her from attending/enjoying her best friend's wedding! as always, it convienently doesn't seem to affect her when she has important events to attend - yet a kid's birthday party she can't be bothered with and she is suddenly so nauseous she isn't even able to keep down dry toast. honestly, the way she claims to use her platform to raise awareness of HG, she makes a mockery of those who genuinely struggle with the issue and who are truly debilitated during their pregnancy - I'm not doubting that she suffers with nausea, but i am skeptical of the way that HG never prevents her from attending events and celebrations and fancy meals she doesn't want to miss out on, yet suddenly hits when she doesn't have other content to share.

Mmmm. When I had pregnancy related nausea and sickness (probably not even HG, but very debilitating) I could not attend a friend’s wedding. It was non negotiable - I could barely hold my head up without retching so how on earth could I travel for hours and attend an all day celebration? There was absolutely no way.

I think this is where her privilege comes in. She has all the medications, the money for private healthcare and to try everything under the sun.
I think during the wedding she skipped posting the not so glam stuff and she also isn’t posting at all about how she makes travel happen… which could actually be useful.

Fuuuuuuck me she is so privileged it's unreal. How would she cope if she had a normal job that required you to go in somewhere regardless of HG. Most people cannot lay in bed feeling sorry for themselves for days on end. They have to get on with it and puke in the bogs at work

I don’t doubt that she’s having a horrible time, but I have quite limited sympathy. She didn’t have to have another baby, knowing full well what her experience was the first time around. She doesn’t have a job where her absence puts her pay at risk. She DOES NOT have to weep into her phone and post it on the internet. I’ve had to unfollow.

She’s set for life anyway, work or no work she has a massive inheritance and her parents are multi millionaires. She went to private school and has never wanted for anything in her life

I’m pregnant but not as far along, and I haven’t got HG just feel tit all the time while only puking occasionally, and there’s NO way I could do that. I’d be throwing up. I’d feel so dizzy and sick. I dunno… most things I can call her out on but to me she looks like she’s trying really hard to look happy and “well” in that video. I could never have worn that outfit pregnant (I’ve had four) but the further along in each I got the more confident I felt. Until the last two weeks which is full on whale territory. But the reason I couldn’t have worn it is a) I never had a figure like she has pregnant or not and b) I’d have worried too much what people say so my view is All power to her.. if her meds are working and she’s feeling ok and that outfit makes her feel fab then she should wear it. She looks incredible! Just because I wouldn’t have felt great in it or had an awful time doesn’t mean she shouldn’t live life

I reckon it probably took a lot and were due some crying and barfing videos (my least fav) but I can’t condemn her for this one…
