I could be wrong but I reckon it could have been a case of getting him to mind his own children while she had a easier visit home.
Sure didn’t it seem like she didn’t even have transport for them all lined up?

Nah, if there was one thing Daniel would fear, it would not be that she would abscond with the children

I really don’t think she ever intended taking them - I’m not sure if she ever said but I never got the impression she was bringing them from her previous mentions of the trip - plus her activities while she was there weren’t very child friendly. Taking 3 young children abroad on your own would take a lot more planning than she appeared to have done
