Eamonn Holmes

I don't mind either of them TBH and they were good on TM in fact my fav presenters since Richard & Judy.
I loved them.
Great interaction. Gentle banter, the sort of things couples do. Judy used to do that “oh dear thing” to Richard and Ruth did it to Eamonn.
Eamonn was really funny on the fashion section. He would make comments on the most awful outfits that the expert was raving about....do people really wear that? Or he would say nothing and just roll his eyes. He said what the viewers were thinking.
Eamonn was happier as a journalist. He left GMTV when he said it became less news, more tv celebs.
He is quite funny on GB News. Great on the news stuff.
On the celeb gossip he says nothing but his expression says everything.
And..he can be quite rude and funny. If anyone saw the “glory hole” discussion it was hilarious

He has huge health issues but I do wonder how sympathetic he would be to anyone else. He always came across as dismissive/ roll eyeballs on this morning. Didn’t support Ruth on strictly. Maybe she realised she was his carer rather than his wife and she wanted to enjoy her 60s and be positive in life. Eamon is coming across on gb news as increasingly unlikeable I wouldn’t want to have to listen or be dependent on him if I were I’ll.

I think thier marriage problems (if true) started after they were ditched from TM. Eamon said on the GB News Schofe interview, Ruth was still employed by ITV and couldn't say anything in regards to any problems that may or may not have happened. He slates ITV to this day and I imagine it doesn't sit well with ITV and Ruth's has enough. I did read somewhere when TM were looking for new presenters Ruth, Rochelle Hulmes and other thought they had it in the bag.

Eamon may not be popular but speaks the truth and that says alot, rather than Ruth, who does come across as self important and arrogant at times, Eamon might take jibs at her sometimes but I can recall many TM moments were she quipped at him with something.

I disagree with your point about strictly, he was there quite a lot

I do hope Ruth at least acknowledges to herself, even if she doesn't publicly, that were it not for her connection to Eamonn, she may never have had the opportunities
Why would she want to give that a thought never mind acknowledge it? Who would really care? She's a far better television personality than Eamonn now. He's turned into a bitter wee man that's hard to like now.

My concern is who gets custody of Rylan Clark? He's like a son to them (apparently) who will he side with?

I agree with you on this. GB News attracts quite a few unlikeable souls, I mean even more than 'traditional' channels. Eamon fits right in. He reminds me a bit of Nick Ferrari on LBC, he also likes to portray himself as quite a jovial, avuncular character who 'tells it like it is'. Personally, I don't buy that schtick, party because in order to succeed in the cut-throat world of broadcasting or tabloid media you have to be a special kind of arrogant self-absorbed a**hole.

He’s been adopted by Rob Rinder

I noticed they didn't include The Sun when reviewing the papers on ITV this morning....they are on the front page.

Yeah, GB News, the people's channel. Some of the 'commentators' who demean themselves on there have almost nothing in common with the average viewer. Look, I don't mean to single-out GB News ... but they do try to brand themselves more than other channels as being somehow non-establishment. Truth is, they really aren't.

So in a nutshell they split 2 years ago by the looks of things and kept it private

Yeah I just posted in another thread (annoying celebs) ... so they've done well to keep up the facade. Not that it's anyones business really, but if they've been trading on their 'happily married couple' brand during that time (I have no idea if they have) it's pretty bloody cynical.

requoting myself but it's probably the best way to do it ... who wants to be going through a divorce and it being in the papers all the time etc, when you're dealing with all the added stress of a divorce. Not speaking from experience as such 🤣but when my parents went through it sorting finances / the house was bad enough, let alone it being splashed on the front page whilst you're still getting over it all and processing it!

I reckon he might go full Harvey Weinstein and get out the zimmer-frame ... really play the victim and go for the sympathy vote. :ROFLMAO: :cautious:

Remember them hosting a Channel 5 sex show a few years ago, he came across a prude, where as you got the feeling she was quite horny, so with his health problems etc I reckon a factor was a lack of intimacy.

💯 Percent. I think Eamon suffers from ye olde Puritan shame and guilt regarding nakedness and sex for enjoyment (rather than just for pro-creation).

I wonder if Ruth’s insistence on this statement now and him moving out recently (after living together separately for 2 years) could be because she is now in a new relationship ?
