Sounds like he struck up this ’friendship’ a while ago when he realised the marriage was on the rocks? Presumably this is what pushed Ruth to ask for a divorce.

I *think* this woman linked with Eamon is appearing on a TV show with him. So I would imagine it's a PR puff piece to promote the show. You know, a bit like when all the Strictly dancers are 'seen out' with their partners.
Think what’s happened is that he’s had his ego stroked by some much younger woman, Ruth has seen her a (rightly) and told him to get stuffed. The Mail were hinting at it last week. There were a couple of stories about him and younger woman.
It does put a different complexion on things regarding the timing of the separation announcement after trying to hide it for so long. Both parties should now be free to move on if that's what they want.

Yeah you'd wonder if dirty tricks are afoot between PR camps.
Generally Ruth is very well liked in the industry. Eamon has pissed a lot of people off. No way was he going to get away with the stuff he said about ITV execs and Schofield last year.
Eamonn is straight talking and I agreed with most of what he said. Ideally one should be able to say how one feels, and call things out. However often for one's own survival in any industry, including mine (construction), one prefers to only tell one's partner about how one really feels. One of our clients, during the pandemic, was being complained about on Twitter as they didn't seem to be facilitating workers to socially distance. I thought it was disgraceful but even though I am of a low rank in the office of my employer, I kept schtum as you never know who is watching.
Last Saturday morning on his radio show, Dr David Bull said a friend of his had been on a cruise holiday and Eamonn was on the ship too. Eamonn was on his own.

There are a handful of others claiming they saw a blonde woman with him on the ship, but they may have assumed it was a hired carer at the time, until this story came out, if indeed what they're saying is true. And indeed it may not even be the same woman.

Just some quick google searches. I think all this paper talk about Eamon's new 'friend' is related to this somehow. Eamon will be the new spokesman for Not Just Travel.

What I meant was, she's probably involved somehow on this cruise-ship balls and the paper/PR agency are trying to make out it's 'a thing', when it isn't. It's probably just a business arrangement to fleece coin out of muppets with too much time and money on their hands.
