I have planned a few social things to do from next week now we can have two households in a private garden. Bless, my bestie who I always get drunk with messaged saying "what shall I bring, if you are still not drinking do you want some 0% stuff?" and I realised what great friends I have that there is no pressure there to drink

Love that, so thoughtful! I think I will fall off the wagon when we can socialise a bit more but will still be tracking in the app and planning when to drink.

That's so thoughtful. I bought the M&S 0.5% red wine. Don't bother! Smells like vinegar & doesn't taste much better.
The Erdinger 0.5 is lovely however, really recommend.

That’s so thoughtful unlike my mum who makes comments about me not drinking like I’m being antisocial/ungrateful 😂 I’m kind of not drinking to support my dad now who is a habitual early doors kinda guy, he’s recovering from an op so staying off the beer to aid his recovery.

the time since 17th Feb has flown by! Can’t believe this is the last full weekend before the end of Lent! I’m happy to say I’m back at work after Easter so looking forward to starting it with a fresh mindset 🙌🏼 Will be having a drink Easter Sunday but nothing silly as my boyfriend is working the next day anyway!

Congrats all! I must admit I drank more in March than initially anticipated, but still much better than before. I’m also planning to drink on Easter Sunday and then hoping to abstain till May.
@SpiceWeasel going back to work will be a definite good motivation to continue. You’ve done amazing.
@Prgirl_cesca nice to have such supportive friends. My lot are terrible drunks. Sometimes I worry if that’s the only thing we have in common.

I’m also still going. I don’t think people believe me when I say I haven’t been drinking or that I have gone off of it 😂

I may feel differently about a nice pint of aspalls in a pub garden in the summer though!

Aww thanks @Pinkpen 84 😊 I’m glad you’re doing and feeling better, important not to beat yourself up when you do have a drink though! I’m looking forward to having a beer next Sunday, for some reason I’m really craving Guinness lol I’m making Guinness chocolate cupcakes with Baileys buttercream icing to give boxes of away next weekend and will have a couple of cans left over from the 4 pack I bought to make them, mmm 😂 would absolutely kill for a fresh pint of Guinness poured on draught in Ireland though, hopefully gonna get there this summer!

I made a new friend through one of my hobbies last year, we’ve only met the once but been texting each other loads and were chatting the other day about what to do when we can meet up. She said ‘I hope you don’t mind but I’m not a big drinker, like I don’t mind drinking but a night out really isn’t my cup of tea’ I was like that is FINE!!! 😍 Looking forward to having a friend who’s happy to go for a coffee and a day out doing something rather than all my other friends who just want to go out and get smashed every weekend!

Hi everyone. Well done everyone for being so amazing this month.
Must admit this March wasn’t dry for me at all but nowhere near as bad as it was last year when we’ve entered the first lockdown. I would like to keep going though. What do you think about Dry April?💙❤

I’m going to keep to my goal of ‘cutting down’ as much as possible I think as it’s my birthday in April so I know I won’t stay completely dry. I had 6 days I drank in March (but only 1 or 2 on those days not excessive) so chuffed with that really as I only thought I’d do dry jan and leave it at that. Happy to be involved in a dry April chat though as it’s nice to keep motivated and check in with you all.

Hey 👋
I have not had a drop and hell yeah, I’m up for dry April! I am so shocked at how easy I have found this.

@Pinkpen 84 it’s great that you have been able to see a difference. You are doing really well 😊

I haven't had a drop since New Years Day but I'm now in this weird zone of - so am I never drinking again or what?

Maybe when humans are allowed to interact again and we can all come out of our bunkers I will go back to it. Well done to everyone that reduced their intake or quit altogether for March! :)

haha I know that weird, Inbetween feeling. I’m at that stage too but I may have a cold pint of cider in the sun with friends when I can. We’ll see.

I’m up for ‘Dry April’ 😊 still stuck to Lent which ends on Sunday so it’s been just over 6 weeks now, can’t believe it! Tbh I’ve not been feeling great, got a terrible sore throat caused by GERD and even drinking water is painful, I was really looking forward to toasting the end of Lent but I won’t be at this rate because I don’t want to just for the sake of it if I’m not really going to enjoy it! So annoying 😂
I go back to work next week which will be a proper test, my job is quite stressful and often my downfall. I’ve said I’m not bothered about going to the pub if it’s outdoor only. None of the pubs near the house are bothering opening until May anyway as they don’t have the capacity. I would go to the micro brewery up the road as like to sit outside there as there’s a landing strip nearby which is fun to watch but it’s only open on weekends anyway.

It’s nice checking in with everyone on here 😊 we’ve all done great! Imagine last year thinking we’d all have had so many days off the sauce. Madness!

Hi all definitely up for a (mostly!) dry April. We've been cutting down our alcohol consumption as more of a goal rather than cutting out completely. Since New Year husband and I have drank 3 times, once in Feb, twice in March so we're calling it "once a month" which I think is pretty good. Have sort of vague plans this month for a bbq for my friends birthday, if the weather is OK ofc, so thats the only real time I can see myself having 1 or 2.

Once things open (bars, restaurants, hotels) I do expect I'll drink more regularly but that was always my plan.

Well done to everyone who completed dry March/ cut down! Debated giving myself an exemption for drinks over the Easter weekend but have decided to fully commit to dry April. Will be tough not having a few drinks over the long bank holiday but it's refreshing to think of things to do where the focus isn't alcohol.

I’m also going to attempt continuing with dry April. I think even when outdoor things open (if they do from this month) I’ll give a miss just to ensure!

I’ve also realised not drinking alcohol is really helping with my pcos and losing weight. I’ve lost more weight being drink free over last three months then I lost last year whilst also having a tipple calorie counting!!

well done to everyone whether your booze free or cutting down! We’ve done so well 👏

I have drastically cut down since January. I feel much better for it especially the morning after 😨. So here's to a hopefully dry April. I'm doing some more fitness stuff as well.

I tried doing dry Jan and lasted 11days, however since lent I’ve only had one evening of drinks and I can whole heartedly say I actually didn’t enjoy it 🤣 woke up the next morning with that horrible clouded head feeling and was so unproductive the day after. I actually do not miss it and I’ve just stopped buying wine in and I feel a lot better in myself mental health wise too.
In December I was gifted quite a lot of alcohol through work, so I drank like a fish and I genuinely think I drank myself to the point where I no longer want to drink🤣
I’ve been trying to lose some weight too. Not having alcohol is definitely helping
