Hi this is an advice forum not a pull the poor lady apart when she has asked advice 🤬. Give advice but no need for any nasty comments!

We are all going through it at the moment and need support 🤗
I’ve not read any nasty comments... tis the age old problem with the written language; it often lacks context and meaning.

I don’t see any nasty comments, I see support on both sides. Tbf it’s a pandemic, it’s her house. If I was her I wouldn’t like it either, especially if you‘ve left stuff lying around. Is she going about it in a petty way? Yes perhaps. But she’s not in the wrong for wanting her house to herself.

Support doesn’t mean telling someone only what they want to hear.

Nobody is being nasty, we are trying to get the full story and OP has repeatedly been asked what tier they are in etc to try and work out why partners stepmum is being how she is being, and if they are potentially in tier 4 then that might speak volumes as to why she is being that way... if you want to come on for advice then atleast give the full story so people can advice properly..

I'm starting to think this is a bull post trying to wind people up. Trains are still running despite what the OP is saying.

No one is being nasty.

You are breaking COVID rules first and foremost. Unless you are in a support bubble with them but you haven't said that.

If someone left used razors in my shower id be furious.

I don’t feel comfortable going up to her and asking her even if I am polite because I don’t want her to feel in an awkward position even though she prob already feels like that. It may sounds strange but I’ve text her and explained that I would never intentionally disrespect her and apologised. The thing is with covid is that I’m worried to so I’m extra cautious and I work from my laptop that comes with me when I come. I know I should leave but I’m kind of stuck here in a way because I don’t drive and the trains are cancelled 😞
From what you’ve said here it sounds like this isn’t your primary home. Under any tier in the whole of the uk you should not be in the house (unless you live alone and this is your support bubble). You need to stop going there and meet your boyfriend elsewhere. However cautious you say you’re being, you aren’t if you’re breaking the rules.

COVID or not, it's her house and she doesn't want you there. Take the hint! I would NEVER stay over in someone else's house where I wasn't wanted. How old is your boyfriend if he's still living with his dad?
Lets not belittle people here, wages are stagnant and house prices are extortionate, there’s A LOT of adults still living with their parents in this day and age!!!

Are you a single person household and not already bubbled up with someone?? If not then she has every right to not want you in her home. There is a pandemic going on, despite the fact that many people seem to have forgotten all about it 😂

On a serious note, if it’s not because of covid respect her feelings and meet your boyfriend elsewhere. You will never have a relationship with the woman if you keep disrespecting her like this.

There's a big difference between a 23 year old still living at home and a 35 year old. COVID isn't exactly an excuse for the latter if they never had their own place prior to COVID 🤷🏼‍♀️

If I was you I was pick up a nice candle online and put it in a gift bag and tell her you seen this and thought she would love it ,, I definitely think you need an ice breaker so this might be a small gesture to warm her up to you. My boyfriends Mam always throws out razors when cleaning so maybe it was accidental so just keep them in a drawer in his bedroom from now on I do the same 🙈 I think some mothers can be like this at the start so just wait it out and keep trying you will eventually get there,, x

She’s ignoring the questions about tiers and COVID on purpose because she’s breaking the rules and the step mum knows it. My advice is be completely truthful otherwise don’t bother asking for advice.

His stepmum could have an underlying medical condition and needs to be careful with covid. I think you should respect her wishes and leave. It’s early days yet, you don’t want to upset your bfs family unnecessarily if you think you see this relationship going somewhere

No idea of the situation really but I wouldn’t be staying there. I wouldn’t sleep over somewhere that quick anyway and leave my belongings around the house and in the shower that’s a bit rude tbh plus we are in the middle of covid so?? Just see eachother in the day for now

Well seeing as OP posted in another thread in May about being with a partner for 10 years, I would say this is a very new relationship and I think the stepmum is allowed to not feel comfortable

Personally I could never stay in someone's house where I'm very obviously not welcome. And I think I would also be reconsidering my relationship if my partner welcomed someone to stay in our home who I'm not comfortable with and told them to ignore me because I don't pay the bills.

Nobody is being nasty. Reasonable questions are being asked and dodged. If the OP wasn’t breaking lockdown rules her conundrum wouldn’t exist.
Personally I feel sorry for the stepmum here. Her behaviour is rude but she has been disrespected and her privacy and boundaries ignored. I wouldn’t leave my razor in the bathroom at my in laws house and my husband and I have been together for 12 years. It’s just rude.
