Long time follower but just registered an account because I feel so strongly about Dr. Laura. I’d consider myself a tolerant person but Jesus she gets on my nerves. She’s on the beg constantly. Like she’s a doctor what has kitchens, tiles, flooring and sinks got to do with her page. Tagging multiple hotels for a free staycation ffs! Pay for it Laura, you can well afford it. I hope with everyone having to staycation this year and most hotels being booked out for the summer that they won’t give into the beggy Mitchell’s this year and they will have to pay to stay like the rest of us!

Actually amazing anyone would go to her for skincare advise but can understand the desperation when you’ve tried everything else. Totally unethical to be only selling your own products as a GP. People thinking they’re getting medical care when at best they’re getting a beauty therapy session.

Also, €25 for that webinar! Joke. If you’re worried about your child bring them to the GP. If you’re unsure what to have in your first aid bag then ask your pharmacist - for free!!!!!
Lad go to yer wan BrightskinGrainne on insta. She does consults, but doesnt sell any skincare. She just sends you the info on the products you need and yoj buy them yourself. I did one iwth her last thursday and some of the stuff was pharmacy products and some I had to buy online and was a bit more expensive. But like. She doesnt give a shite how much you spend so she gave me proper honest advise i felt. I think she was a primary teacher with everything eileen before she did skin. Ive mentioned her here before

did you see ‘I can’t wait to trial these on a patient’
So - a freebie for a clinical trial Laura is it ? I don’t think that’s why we go to GPS! The right thing would be ‘ I’ll do some research & see if there’s evidence that would allow me make the decision to prescribe it to someone suitable’

re the patient info, screen shot & report to data commissioner & medical council. And the patient. I’ve had enough of this one
Wonder would the trial products be free for her patient or would she sell them? 🤔

Laura is the absolute epitome of a spoiled little madam. I always thought that from when I started following her just after she started her account. I'd say she has gotten everything she ever wanted in life including what was it, 3 expensive university courses before she decided she wanted to play doctor?! I unfollowed her shortly before the new baby was born because jesus the bore of all the pregnancy stuff. Like what service did she think was providing. Women have managed for lifetimes without laura telling them how to birth a child. I dip in and out now of her stories to see what line of BS she is spinning. The whole covid debacle was an absolute disgrace and her justification of it was insane. And then to put a grid post up with the antibodies result was beyond irresponsible. If she went to such pains to keep the covid result secret why on earth couldn't she have zipped it up that she did an antibodies test. She is a dangerous person to have any sort of platform. The webinars aimed at "new parents" are a disgustingly cynical way to make money. This is all advice that a)you can get from free reputable sources and b) you discover yourself as a new parent. With your first child you bring it to the doctor if she sniffles and you learn each time and develop your instinct and learn what needs to be seen by a doctor. But you have to experience this not be told by a quack on insta when to bring your child to a doctor and when not to! The thoughts of a new parent with a sick child running to some stupid handout she has emailed them instead of calling their GP or doc on call sickens me.
And as for the skincare stuff. OMG like where would you even begin. She is underqualifed with very little experience and under no supervision. Who would trust their face to this? Crazy stuff. How can it be allowed within regulations? She has no passion for medicine. You can always see that when she answers a question about being a GP or her route to studying medicine. She obviously is clever and able for intense studying and it is like she just picked it because it is a aspirational career. There is not a caring bone in her body. She cannot even tolerate her kids for too long. Couldn’t see her give compassionate care to sick patients.
I think she is greedy enough that she will trip herself up. She is so cocky and has never been told no in her life so she will heed no caution. I guarantee if someone knows her from childhood they would say her parents treated her like a princess. Written all over her.

All is quiet since the (now deleted) story with a patient's address in the background was shown.

What do you think happened ?
I didn't see this so not sure of the details of what happened in this case but if data regulations are breached the person must self declare it to the data protection commissioner. It is quite serious.

I can still rattle off the address from memory. It was Galway and about 40 mins from Laura. I’m sure in terms of a public forum a data commissioner would review something also- not picking a fight but just saying it’s different to work doing something wrong to me with my data Vs sharing data on a public forum with 45k followers!

Sorry I'm not sure what you're saying. I think it is a very serious breach if that wasn't clear.

No what I mean is I think when it’s shared on a public forum for someone like a GP it may not matter who complains x
Oh no of course not and I'm sure plenty of people who saw it did report it and rightly so. My point is if you as the holder of the data realise or it is brought to your attention that there was a breach then regardless of anyone reporting you, you still must report it. So say for example she contacted that patient and said "Mary your address is after being shared to a 100k of my followers sorry bout that love" and Mary says "grand hun no bother, knock a tenner of my next consultation" then Laura still has to make the declaration to the DC to record that the incident happened. She has rightly f'ed up here in summary 😉

You can’t mix been a social media darling and a career like medicine. Or If you do you have to be very specialised and experienced in your field and have very clear cut lines , your role as a doctor and your role as a social media “influencer”. I so hate that expression.
When your hap hazard and mixing the two you mess up. Which she did and now there is not a single sound from her. I would imagine she has annoyed more than one medical colleague along the way. Especially last week with her Covid lies. They will delight in reporting a serious breach of confidentiality.

She hasn’t been on since maybe she got a fright, or else she’s just having a weekend off which we are all entitled to .. but I do agree with all posters above what she is doing is dangerous. There’s so much room for error in medicine anyway - between risks and unknowns and doctors doing their best but till everything is always ‘best practise’ etc. Seeing patients online that you have no history of, and really how do you tell the pain killer addict from the person who might be in chronic pain if you don’t know them, can’t assess them... and not to mention the skin care ones and the money she’s making dispensing her own pharmacy items for that! I do think she’s a law suit waiting to happen & the sharing a patient details last wk is just the tip of the iceberg

Yes she actually has to write a formal letter to the person and In the letter the steps of the process and if the person wants to take further action have to be clearly spelt out . Open disclosure.
She would also have to do a clinical incident form too I’d imagine and defo wouldn’t be allowed to offer money off or she would be in a whole lot of other bother.
In fact if anyone knows the said person they would be well within their rights to seek legal action and take same said incident further.

Jeepers , that is very serious. I didn’t know there were so many steps to follow if something like this happens
She’s so sloppy in her social media work , typos all the time and now that . Something like this was bound to happen
