She is looking for a free holiday now for her family and her parents. Mean while the rest of us pheasants are quoted ridiculous amounts of money to go two nights to the beach so the social media darlings can all go for free , so their followers can watch on .
So so sick of these social media influencers and their sense of entitlement and getting free stuff.
One day after posting and the “mix up” about her COVID positive test she is begging for a free holiday .
what a wonderful country we live In

Sure she was coughing and could barely speak on the winey live she did one night and not a word about it. She is such a liar, I’m so angry that she’s not being held accountable for her behaviour. Like some of you said, actively encouraging her followers to send their names and their positive result for her to share to remove stigma. But not when it’s her, proving there’s a fucking stigma!
A false positive is so unlikely so why is she putting out that information like it’s really likely to happen. She’ll definitely have people testing positive and saying ‘ah sure it’s probably a false positive, I’ll head to Dunnes’ - she is a dreadful doctor for doing what she’s doing here and I hope she experiences consequences for it.

God, I am sorry. I've tried to restrain myself and be kind. We all have bad skin days/weeks/months. Some of us are lucky enough to just have hormonal spots and others are unfortunate enough to suffer from long term, chronic skin conditions.

Laura looks to have pretty standard skin. Please correct me, I may have missed stories etc., but I'm not aware she has any major skin issues (i.e. aggressive and chronic).

Her skin is a really poor advertisement for a doctor advertising a skin clinic. She has a very bad under eye and around eye area for a 39 year old. Consistently. As I have said....we all have shite weeks. But her skin would never inspire me to book an appointment.

As we all know, she's a fairly recently qualified GP. She is not a Consultant Dermatologist as I feel she almost portrays herself online. Does she even have specialist skin qualifications? Purely based on the fact that she only qualified so recently and thus has little specialist experience, I find it really odd that people would go to her for skin advice, period.

Just to say, I don't think you necessarily need to be a doctor to be a skincare expert. I have an amazing facialist in Dublin who used to be a biomedical scientist so she knows her shit re ingredients. And I'm booked to see someone for Profhilo who is a dentist who then went back and did two Masters in skin and facial aesthetics. And they are both amazing advertisements for their businesses. I haven't had anything done but facials but I would go to someone like that if I wanted something more invasive. (That's not to say I'm in favour of random dentists with no training doing Botox btw.) I just feel that surely she would wait to get her skin to a really comment worthy state (positive) before you would launch yourself as an online skin guru.

I used to be a medical secretary for a Consultant Dermatologist, in Dublin, for two years, so I guess I find her conduct fascinating. She would not have remained employed under my boss!!!

Her Q&A yesterday didn’t give me much confidence...never had an interest in medicine but thought the money and lifestyle would be good so ‘kind of fell in to it’ 🤯
IMO health care is a vocation.

Never really post comments but just so mad over her posts the past couple of weeks. I had covid in November, got it through work and initially was told i didn't need a test as I just had sore eyes and a stuffy nose but my GP said to err on side of caution I could get a test just in case. I was positive, and couldn't believe it!! Symptoms got worse! After conflicting advice from the HSE on return to work protocol etc I sought guidance from my own doctor who said I needed to isolate for 14 days inclusive from the day of my test (saturday) in my case. If I had any symptoms on that Saturday , day 14, I would need to ring again and possibly isolate further. She is a disgrace to the profession and just covering tracks. I haven't seen my family in months and had followed every guideline and couldn't believe when I contracted it but as soon as I had a sniffle I knew being tested was the right thing to do. I just don't understand how she was so hypocritical and wanting to take the stigma away when she wouldn't even share her own diagnosis!!!sorry for the rant I'm just so mad!!

She posted on Friday 22nd Jan saying that the previous Sunday she'd had enough, and headed out to the Prom for a walk. That was just over a week after she tested positive so it's there in black and white that she broke the rules!! If it was anyone else I'd think they were just being stupid, but coming from a medical professional it is disgraceful

Just looking at her insta...... she has a post from jan 6th, and in that says people going for walks with others are picking it up off them..... mind blown, this is a doctor? Not following the guidelines herself...... bloody disgrace. And has to mention her mother’s Illness and treatment in the most recent post in order to get the sympathy vote now that’s she admitting she had Covid. At least the likes of Sabrina and Sandra admitted they had it and actually did the proper lengths of isolation.

Unfollowed her this am..... as she already told someone to do on her stories to do. Not appropriate to share that she had covid apparently cause it affected her and her family ......... but appropriate to share everything else that suits you to share about family life, breastfeeding, puts the kids on insta etc. I sent her a few questions before I unfollowed... including how she got three tests, when lots of people with symptoms couldn’t get tests at all. All about who you know probably.

Dr Laura GP.
Joined insta a year ago wanting to talk about women’s health and break down taboos. Now has done a 360 turn into an insta hun with an AD almost every second day. She shared her inbox twice this week and she had emails begging for collabs with dummies, baby wipes, skin care (again), spf, excema cream, baby toys .... everything is gifted these days or else an AF. Has a drab overly flower style of clothes that she continues to share despite it not being particularly any style. An avid breastfeeder but moans about not having a routine despite dad being off on 6 months paid paternity leave, they have a childminder daily for the other 2 kids also! She’s planning to open a GP / skin/ women’s health clinic in Galway and the insta account has turned into an amazon add lately. For a GP it’s strange to see someone recommend so much prescription skin care without ever seeing someone’s skin. She’s had an AD with most skin brands but they have told pharmacists she was the one who approached them for the collabs. Recently went on a few free staycations and deleted snaps where she gave out about the room not being cleaned during the day. Thread was requested.

So she went out and about after her negative test because she was symptom free yet the reason she got the second test that was positive was because of a lingering cough? That’s not symptom free. So many inconsistencies in her story.

Just before she tested positive she talked about removing the stigma around getting Covid, made herself out to be so open and honest in the whole testing process where she got her negative and then the following week she tests positive and bam nothing. I think at the time she decided she was fed up, that the rules didn’t apply to her and wanted to go out of the house without the backlash of breaking the rules. She is a disgrace.

Tony Holohan (I know, it’s probably spelt wrong) has been saying for quite a while now if you have any symptoms of a cold or flu (runny nose Laura 🙋🏼‍♀️) then you should assume it’s covid and act accordingly. Yet she assumed it was allergies and waited for a fever to be tested. She’s a disgrace as a GP for that and as a human being in general to go out on the prom with a negative test and not have her close contacts isolate.

True. There are GPs with a specialist interest in dermatology but they’ve undergone years of experience. They work along side dermatologists in the same clinic. Nothing like Laura and whatever little course she’s done.
I roared laughing at this. I am also a GP and I did the same little course as Laura. It was great for learning about diseases of the skin. Useless for learning what type of overpriced AHA you can sell to desperate people. As a cystic acne sufferer I know exactly how vulnerable it makes you and can lead you to paying any amount to anyone who claims they can help you. Shocking way to carry on.

Reflux is an absolute nightmare for the baby n on the parents too! There is nothing easy about it. You’ll do or go anywhere to get instant relief .

🛑please note I’m discussing the nature of losec & Advertising
Medication 🛑

Regarding Laura n the Losec - yes she can give or do whatever she wants it’s her daughter at the end of the day !

But I don’t agree with her advertising the above topic on her social media platform .
She has no idea who her followers are, she claims not to ask for personal medical advice . But yet she is advertising losec ( PPI) to her followers . There’s guidelines in place when to recommend the above to the patient(s). This is not her first time to post self medicating info on social media ( Sudafed to dry up milk) there is contra indication in place for Sudafed . When you go into a pharmacy to buy Sudafed, they use “wwham” to ensure it’s safe for person to take Sudafed .
“What works for one patient may not be effective for another patient “! Does she mention or highlight this ?!
In this society what’s mention on social media , it’s gospel. It’s v unprofessional of her ( IMO)
She is a GP who has license-to practice in her own private practice .

Does her license allow her practice on social media? IMO she is using her medical information on insta n is advertising what she uses n finds personally good !

Her page is v unprofessional, she is using her insta page as her diary .

Sleep consultants 🙄 honestly could a parent become anymore pretentious!
God I find that so mean. I struggled massively with my child’s sleep, I hadn’t a clue what I was doing and I desperately needed help. Too much well meaning advice came from so many people and it was so difficult to know what was right. We tried everything for a good 2 years, it almost broke me trying to get through the day on 3-4 hours of broken sleep. I needed help so I got it and it changed our lives. I don’t consider myself pretentious at all, I felt so shit about not being able to get my son to sleep, for so long. Felt like such a failure of mother. I was in trouble and got help, I wasn’t being pretentious.

In her newest long winded post about giving a 5 month old a bottle, she suggests putting it in the microwave,!!! Number one public health message out there with regards heating a baby's bottle never ever put in a microwave due to hot spots and scalding, and even if every one does do it and shakes it up, she is a GP, the person at the top of the public health food chain, a health promoter and this is the garbage she spits out

also- allergies in Dec/Jan? Is she for real? Unless there’s lots of mould or dust in her house and she’s allergic to that and repeatedly smushing her face into those things, then she would not have had those symptoms attributable to “allergies” in the middle of winter. That’s just so embarrassing for a GP on so many levels....
