After reading Reddit posts this morning, I'm more certain I don't want Zelensky to return to Trump as Trump will pile on the pressure. It's making me nervous.
Putin & Russia are on their arses, with a very poor economy, Italy has a bigger GDP than Russia.
Using youngsters, convicts & North Koreans as cannon fodder now, at the start of the invasion their military strength ratio was around 5:1, now it's down to around 1.5:1 versus Ukraine.
Poland could probably defeat Russia right now.
Putin squeezed Trump for help, Trump thought he'd just get Zelenskyy to sign anything by bullying him.
Europe needs to give those frozen Russian assets/billiions directly to Ukraine.

China needs Europe to maintain its spending and consumer power. Europe is a massive buyer of goods from China, it wouldn’t help them to leave Europe to be on the bones of its a. I think they would stand up to Putin if it looked like their trade would be adversely affected.

Interesting, I've been wondering what China's position would be if the tensions increased. Need to do more reading. There are so many complex things to try and take account of in an ever shifting landscape.

China have been more interested in Africa in recent years, building a lot of infrastructure in various Countries, lots of untapped resources in Africa, in return for new roads, railways & wi-fi.
Russia has been propping up tinpot dictators in places like Mali, Central African Republic etc using the Wagner Group.

A lot of Chinese investment in Africa...but also a lot of interest in Africa from the likes of FB/Meta. Plans for underground 'cables' etc.
This has gone on since Covid times.

China also know they can use military from their friends,Pakistan for example.

India are the 'super power ' to watch for! Again, this has been in play long before Covid!

He's probably made tens of millions just by posting about crypto and knowing it'll cause the price to spike.

Absolutely, lots of the natural resources needed for making electric car batteries - nickel, cobalt, lithium, etc - are found in Africa and developing countries. Well over half of the world's cobalt comes from DR Congo, where the Wagner Group has a very strong presence.

The only"special relationship" Trump relates to is one of dodgy dealing and self-promotion. Who on earth would trust him with committing to anything? Trump is more volatile than Putin and wants world domination..."It would make great TV.."

I can’t understand how this is going to work when Putin is steadfast against peacekeeping troops being drafted in but these measures are with the backing of Trump 🤷🏼‍♀️

Trump must be going red in the face as he thought Zelensky would fold and now Europe are strengthening, working together and making assurances to Ukraine. Even we are acquiring some fighter jets (about time).

Trump thought Zelensky would fold and master Putin would be happy with his work. The Russians could then waltz in and steamroll Ukraine and Trump would declare victory for America.

What this has shown is Trumps world view is so simplistic and he really doesn't understand what is at stake here. He doesn't understand WW2 and what that has done. He doesn't undertand why the European Union was formed. Putin and Musk are pushing rit into his ear and he is too stupid to realise.

He is being diplomatically slapped down and this will not end well for him. He will push America to isolation and all the effects that come with that.

It’s only with Trumps backing they’re forming this alliance.

So far I dont think these measures havent been agreed with Trump!!
They are saying they will put together a plan, and inform Trump of the outcome, this doesnt necessarily mean he has to agree!!!
I would imagine the UK and France, will start separate peace negotiations with Putin and Russia, cutting the US out of the negotiations!!! If Russia are really desperate to negotiate a Peace treaty, and stop the fighting in Ukraine, its going to be a very different negotiation strategy. Especially if Ukraine do have potential military backing from Europe.

Europe can offer new/resumed trade agreements, in return for Putin agreeing some kind of peace keepers in Ukraine.

It doesn’t sound like it from what Starmer said which is why it’s confusing how the US will get Putin on board?
