Let it play out. You are out of there soon. They have lost control you remember. Anybody can leave a job, a relationship, a situation if it isn’t working out, and they would fire you without a second thought if the shoe was on the other foot. They have been dumped.oh my god after handing my notice in they have started to be so horrible and nasty, starting arguments with me. there is no HR department to report to and i would call in sick with stress but they don’t pay sick pay. this is awful![]()
Management at my place has been toxic for years... friends promoted friends and never seemed to be a case of how good of a manager you'd be.Does anyone wonder how their bosses hold down a job when they’re so incompetent at even the most simple of tasks???? Fucking HELL it shouldn’t annoy me so much but I can’t help it. Honestly infuriates me 🫠
There’s no harm in seeing what’s out there!
To be honest, I’ve moved jobs twice in the last year and I do find the first 6 months v difficult but really that’s not very long in the grand scheme of things. 30 is still young!!
I always said that I would do the job until it wasn't fun anymore. It was fun for me for a long time, but at one point, it wasn't anymore and I set out to find a new one. I'm there now and after two months can say that I love it. I'm excited for it again, which I really missed. Maybe you are at a similar point with your job, and while it's a bit frightening to put yourself out there, go through interviews and be "the new one", it can give you the spark back you may be missing right now. There's no harm in looking![]()
I'm going to be honest some people in my team seem to be really good pals with him so I'm worried if I say something it'll get back to him. It's a small team in my department so I've kept myself to myself regarding this. I know maybe I shouldn't have, and everyone else in my team are OK with me, but I am a bit nervous what could potentially get back to him.what is his relationship like with your colleagues??! is it just you he torments like this? and are any of them even aware any of this is going on??
I am in my 60s and I got a job at 60 after a long period of being in and out of temp jobs. I didn't like my boss she was like a spoilt brat. She was also v ageist and more or less hinted that no way that I would find another post as I was old. Last August at the grand age of 64 I started a new job on promotion ! I am getting more money a much nicer boss and have learnt loads of new technology since being there. Spoilt brat was in shock when I told her the news that I was moving onwards and upwards she had a bright red face for about an hour. He who laughs last.....Interviews - remember, it’s not just them interviewing you. It’s your opportunity to find out if they will be a good fit for you.
Employers - sadly, most of us are just numbers. If they had to get rid of people they would put a line through your name in the blink of an eye. Loyalty doesn’t exist anymore. So, take the same view as them. See work as a means to your end. Use them until they no longer suit.
