I volunteer at a food bank and fundraise for the children's hospice that provided palliative care for my three brothers.
I donate to DogsTrust every month. I’m currently sorting my flat out so I’ve found a small charity who need household goods for people who are homeless and just getting back on their feet.
I also try and add something to the Foodbank collection whenever I food shop. I’m also going to be doing a reverse advent calendar for the Foodbank this year.
I’ve also been stung by chuggers in the past where I haven’t been able to stand up for myself. In fact, at one point you couldn’t walk down the High Street without having to go past a gauntlet of chuggers in my town centre.

It’s so hard. I totally get that people can’t volunteer anymore, for so many reasons- afraid of catching covid or another illness because they’re vulnerable, or they need to find paid work and can’t give up their time for free. And like you say, demand has skyrocketed for so many charities, and income has not increased to match it.
