Do you give to charities?

If so, what kind of charities do you give to? I prefer to give to wildlife and conservation charities, but I've also given to people on justgiving who needed money for either themselves or a child that needed an operation for cancer or something similar. But recently I've given to mostly nature charities, such as rainforest trust, woodland trust, and WWF to protect endangered species.

Also, for those interested in donating to WWF. They need funding for the Elephants, Jaguars, and Tigers. Here is the link:

Woodland trust is great too, as you can choose to donate to plant trees around the UK.

I give to three by standing order and at Christmas do a bigger one off donation. The standing orders are animal/wildlife and the Christmas one is usually related to cancer or Cystic fibrosis because (like most people sadly) our family has been directly affected by this.

And Amazon smile is good- doesn’t cost you any more and they donate money from sales to your chosen charity.

That's nice. I think donating to charity is great. Although I sometimes feel like I am not able to do much physically, at least the money should help.

I don’t give to charities directly but I buy most of my clothes in charity shops, so I guess it’s still a donation in a sense!
I also donate any old clothes too

I collect money every Christmas for the children's hospital where my brothers received palliative care.

I also volunteer at an adult literacy agency, I listen/help to adult learners as they do their 'homework' (i.e. reading from a book out-loud, writing practice etc). Literacy is a human right and I'm so happy that I can help people reach their goals to read and write.

I used to, but having worked for a ‘smaller’ charity, I would never again give my money to a named charity. Probably about 2% of what is donated actually goes towards the cause the rest is usually used to line the pockets of the ones sitting at the top

I give my time! Bloody loads of it! Lol. I help run our local SANDS group. It is demanding, it is hard and I sometimes question why I bother and think it'd be far easier and less stressful to set up a direct debit for £20 a month instead.

I give money monthly to Cancer research.

All our wearable clothes and household bits go to various charity shops.

We also donate food to our local food bank.

This year I set myself a goal for charity donations and I hit it last month 🙌🏼

I give a lot to cancer research but if anyone knows of any smaller cancer charities I’d love recommendations!

Also drop off food at food banks every so often and do Christmas boxes at Christmas time ☺

I don't give to the same charity on a regular basis, I can't afford it. I do, however, give money for non uniform at school, tombolas at local events etc. Over the year it probably mounts up to a few quid a month for various charities

Your local hospital Trust may have a charity , either a general oncology one , or one for specialist departments

Charity shops yes... But not direct money to any of the big corporate ones.

I don’t really send money often, but I do the occasional Just Giving donation. I sent some cat foods to a cat sanctuary recently via their Amazon wishlist, that’s something I’d like to do more regularly. Occasional bits for my local community charity collections like food and toiletries, donating warm clothes for the winter, etc.

I don’t have a direct debit or anything but regularly support mental health charities and children’s charities via just giving. I donate to food banks and for deprived children presents at Christmas. I also raised money for Maggie’s which is a cancer charity.

Would anyone consider leaving a gift in their will to a charity? When we did our Wills we were asked if we wanted to leave a legacy. It’s a lovely idea, even if only £500 but I wasn’t sure who to pick so we didn’t as yet.
