I always have to shut my bathroom door of a night time but don't care about any other doors though 🤣 when my kids were small babies I used to have to tap on their cots a certain amount of times before bed 🙈

So many of my "quirks" have already been mentioned 😂
When I hang my washing out, I like to match the colour of the peg with the clothes (VERY satisfying when they are the exact same colour) Also jeans need to be hung leg down, not pegs on the waistband) 🙄

If the duvet is tucked in, I have to pull it straight out.

Check the doors at night, not just before bed but throughout the evening when I'm passing. Check taps are off, plugs turned off and that fridge/freezer are shut properly before bed.

I HATE opening crisps upside down. If I ever accidently do it, I dont even like to eat them (I've given them to my partner before)

I always have to have a drink with a meal and watch something while I eat (antisocial I know) 😂🤷🏻‍♀️
If you open crisps upside down you’ve killed an angel! Whenever I eat I have to have a tea towel with me.

My boyfriend is the same he’ll just make a sweeping statement like ‘I don’t like fish’ but then he eats fish and chips and cans of tuna?! In fairness he has improved a lot since we’ve been together as he did honestly used to have the palate of a 4 year old 😂 a lot of the time when we are on holiday and he doesn’t know what stuff is I have to say ‘trust me, you’ll like it’ about a certain dish in a restaurant then he’ll fall in love with it and we have to go back a million times so he can have it again 🤪😂
Oh the fish thing drives me mad, he also doesn’t like fish but eats fish fingers and scampi, doesn’t like gammon but eats ham 😂

Me and my other half argue about how the dishwasher should be loaded with plates all the time. It should be from the outside in, he thinks it should be inside out.

My mum used to find me hilarious when I was a child because I would never eat a packet of crisps if they were opened upside down. Nor would I eat a chocolate bar if it was broken before I opened it. I still check crisp packets are the right way up today before I open them 😂 I'm good with the chocolate now.
I do the opposite with crisps, always open them upside down!

If I take a glass of water from the tap I have to fill and empty the water 3 times before I drink it
I could never just go fill a glass of water from the tap and drink it 🤢
Bedroom has to be spotless at all times never leave clothes out the night before Incase spiders I have a top drawer for clothes to wear that I leave them in each night I will get up from bed if I notice even half an inch of something sticking out of my drawers or if I see a wire behind the tv
I could have written that comment 👍

I have to clean my house myself, if my boyfriend does it (or tries to) it’s not clean imo and I have to do it again 😂
I bin pennies because they look ugly
All my laundry products have to be matching scents (detergent, fabric conditioner and unstoppables)
I pick at my food and take all the little crunchy bits off.. usually do this with kfc chicken strips
I don’t eat the ends of fries if they’re too pointy
I love chocolate buttons but hate eating the giant ones - only the standard size will do

Volume has to be even or 5- drives me mad, because 11 is the ideal volume wise on my car and I can’t deal with with 😂

If I have toast example 3 slices I have to butter them in order of which came out the toaster 1st and eat them in order too.
I can not go to bed unless my kitchen is spotless and the sink has been dried.
I can not get in an unmade bed.
I have to open my curtains and blinds ASAP when I get up in every room.
I can not stand to be bare foot or in socks, it’s like I can not function at all, I have converse that I wear only in the house even with pyjamas, I can’t wear slippers either

The left curtain has to be over the right curtain otherwise too much light comes into the room 😳
OMG, I do that but mine is due to draughts too - single glazed sash windows.

Thought of another thing I do - I have to bring my handbag upstairs with me at night. I can’t leave it downstairs in case we are burgled. 😳

Me and my other half argue about how the dishwasher should be loaded with plates all the time. It should be from the outside in, he thinks it should be inside out.
You are correct!
My husband doesn’t realise things go in certain places in the dishwasher - you can’t just load it all willy nilly! 😄
Wow haven’t used that phrase for years!

At the shops whether its clothes, underwear, food, drink, magazine etc I never take from the front of the shelf. I feel those items at the forefront are probably more germy because they've probably been picked up to be looked at then put back umpteen times. This use to drive mr pinkblush nuts but since covid he's shut up about me doing it.
“get one from the back” is what my mum says 😂 It’s also practical though cos fresh food have longer best before dates at the back!

- I also obsessively check my doors are locked before bed.
- Check under the stairs and downstairs toilet that no ones hiding too 😅
- Rinse my toothbrush before I use it.
- Go around switching off unused plugs sockets

There’s probably loads more that I don’t realise I do!

Switch everything off at the mains at night (always paranoid of a fire breaking out)
I do this! Not just at night but I'll switch the mains to the cooker off after I've finished cooking at any point in the day. Been in 3 fires due to housemates cooking whilst drunk and leaving the hob on. Now I'm paranoid about it.

I also have to lock my doors and windows all the time. Twice when living in London, someone has tried to break into my flat whilst I was in. Terrifying.

I have to do a spider check every night before I go in bed eg look behind the bed, and chest of drawers to see if there are any spiders lurking.
Yes!

Everything must be on an even number like the TV volume etc. I also have to check things twice and touch things 4 times. When I hoover I have to turn the hoover on, then off, then on again so when I turn it off its even 🤦🏻‍♀️

I honestly thought it was just me who did these things. I can’t rest until I do them.

I can’t sit down to watch tv in an evening if I haven’t had a shower and put pjs on, if anything is out of place in the lounge before I settle it has to be moved, that includes the kitten too!! 😹

I hate eating when adverts are on! I'll sit and wait with my food if they are on until the show starts or carries on 😂
I do this. I also refuse to listen to adverts if I cannot skip them. YouTube is getting insanely bad for ads that cannot be skipped. I mute my show until the ad is over. I’m so petty 😂

When I’m going to sleep I tuck my duvet under my feet at the bottom 😅

Volume at an even number or a multiple of 5
Okay, the feet tucking is clearly a safety issue. I mean, the monsters may grab them! Yes, I’m a feet tucker. 😂

I get really overwhelmed with strange things. Like, if I see that someone has shut their car off and their window wiper has stopped halfway a up their window. Makes me want to claw my skin off.

Must make my bed every morning. MUST.

Opening blinds/curtains is another.

If I’m in someone’s house who has an overhead light on I have to fight the NEED to switch it off. (Never use them in my gaff)

this makes me sound really anal and house proud. I’m not, my place is chaotic generally I just have weird things that bug me.

Ooo some of these are good!
I have a weird noise sensory thing. So for example I can’t stand noises at a certain frequency like a car running outside, or things like when you don’t tighten the pop bottle and it makes a weird ongoing squeaking noise (my hearing isn’t the best but I can hear this from the next room). Hearing TVs or people talking in the next room makes me freak out. Some noises trigger absolute anger in me. But noises like the microwave whirring, tumble dryer going etc are fine. My volume level has to be in multiples of 5. Everything must be in order before I leave the house, towels folded, toilets clean and flushed, blinds and curtains set, couch and cushions plumped etc.
I only use bleach to clean my toilets I can’t touch it, if it gets on my hands I bork 🤮
I often look at stuff that scares or weirds me out, like google earth over sea world or the sea in general (the blue hole freaks me out) huge waterfalls etc.

E.g. When I pay my credit card or add to savings it always has to take it to a round number. Either a multiple of 5 or 10. And no pennies on the end.
I really enjoy Revolut's (banking app) 'spare change' feature. I make most my day-to-day expenses using Revolut, and with spare change function turned on, it rounds off the change from my purchases.. transferring them into a little savings account. I've already accumulated €121.09 (not a nice round number haha) from this feature over the past year that's going towards my holiday fund.
