Oh, I didn't know that, I thought it was just a curtain to the toilets and was put off by that. I should have come here first 🤦🏼‍♀️
I definitely wouldn’t stay there if it was like that!!

Here’s a photo from Touring Plans, you can see the open door on the left and the curtain that goes across the sink area on the right.

I can see it now, I feel quite stupid now 😂
I honestly thought the same when we stayed there I was really worried about it. I like to keep some things private! I can confirm there is a door. There is also an additional one in Coronado this one slides between the walls so slight more space.

I honestly wish I'd have know that, would have saved us some money and my husband wanted to stay at port Orleans. I'll just keep it quiet from him.
You'll have to let us know what Coronado is like, I'm not going until December, so any tips will be welcomed and I hope you have sa great time when you go

Will do and thanks! I am slightly concerned on how big Coronado is to be honest, I have gone through every route to try and ensure I am in Casitas as it's closest to the quick service, you should be OK in the tower in that respect though!

I am getting very excited but nervous at the same time that it is all going to be different.

Good morning everyone. We have finally decided to go back to Disney World, 10 years after our last trip.

Need to book by the end of July to get the deals. Are thinking Port Orleans French Quarter or possibly Coronado Springs. We are 2 older adults who don't drive. Would love the Grand Floridian but the budget just won't stretch to it!

Am quite worried about all the changes and prebooking but I'm happy to do my research.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the best resorts? We have always booked everything with Virgin before but they seem really expensive now. Is a package best or do people book flights/hotel/tickets/transfer separately? Am concerned about cancellations bearing in mind covid hasn't gone away.

Any opinions most welcome.
I love FQ and it’s not as big as Coronado so easy to get around, BUT as two older adults the benefit of Coronado to me would be that it has a smaller pool in each area as well as the big main pool which i don’t think they have at FQ. I spent most of my time at the small pool when I stayed there by myself and it was always really chilled. I walked about the resort a lot and the main pool was always packed when I passed. I stayed in the Casitas and the rooms were really smart and it was only a short way from the main building.

I’ve stayed in all the resorts except the new Riviera one and they all have different good and bad points I think. But really you can’t go wrong with either FQ or Coronado ☺ FQ is worth it for the beignets and also the Riverside resort is so lovely to walk around and explore.

Hey hun - pop your request on your MDE app or if you can stomach it , if you phone Disney you can always Ask for a preferred room ,which is usually closer to the food hall/bus stop/reception, it’s sometimes a small admin fee , but usually Disney have given it to us , so might be worth the call xx

Thanks, have already requested Casitas 4 or 5 (I know not preferred but would suit us) through MDE and also through Touring Plans room request service.

We stayed at Coronado and liked having the bar area from when we got back from the parks to have a drink before bed and rest our feet! The resort is huge; we stayed in I think it was Ranchos first then Casitas (we asked to move as at the weekend some noisy American ladies were all we could hear through the connecting door!) and we really liked it and would def stay there again. We would like to try Port Orleans and FQ at some point but the costs are just astronomical now ☹ We stayed in All Star Movies back in Nov and it was fine but we just prefer somewhere with a bar area to sit in on an evening to relax after the parks (we are two adults)

Many thanks all.

However it's not looking like it's going to happen now due to the astronomical cost. Can't justify it when we could get 3 very good holidays elsewhere for the same price as Disney are asking.

Gutted but got to be realistic.

I’ve stayed at Coronado before the in the casitas area, I wouldn’t worry about the buses they don’t get as busy due to the conference crowd at the hotel not going to the parks. Lovely hotel and definitely think it’s more grown up and with great facilities for adults without kids (that what we did!).

We're going with two young children, I'm so bit worried now there won't be anything for them to do there

That’s music to my ears and one of the reasons I chose Coronado is the more adult theme

I still think there is loads for them to do just not so in your face as the other hotels!

How lovely to wake up to you all talking about Coronado Springs! I'm going there in just over 2 weeks. I haven't actually thought about the size, i stayed at Caribbean beach years ago and sound myself up that it was huge and would ruin the holiday and it was absolutely fine! So just decided to go with it, we're barely in the hotel anyway.

I've also stayed at both Port Orleans in the past and can confirm you definitely get a toilet door just a curtain to the sink area.

Will report back with any tips!

Anyone staying off site managed to get a Tusker House reservation? We have a trip later this year and I’ve been looking at the dining reservations this week for the currently available days, and tusker house is never on there. I know we can all book 60 days in advance now, can on site guests still do their full holiday at 60d? Is that what’s booking it up? Need more character dining options back!!

The reservations were fully booked before we went online May. On the day we were at Animal Kingdom loads of times lots were opened up, so worth a try if you don't manage to get one beforehand

I know they do it because then on site guest have a that as a perk but it’s so frustrating being off site and trying to book things in advance. I was trying to book Ogas Cantina the other day on the 60 day mark at 11am and by 11:05 the only time left was 9:30 pm

will definitely keep trying if that’s the case! Anyone know if you can do a walk up for Tusker House?
