It is such a weird forum though, and seems to attract a lot of ‘nice guys’ who think women owe them something. Tattle is much nicer.
What really pissed me off, and drew me over here, was the way they silenced any criticism of Schofields ridiculous ‘coming out’, when by all accounts he’d been ‘out’ privately for his entire career. We weren’t allowed to even say we felt sorry for his wife and daughters for being lied to.
I think the problem is it's too big a forum so they tit their pants every time someone says something vaguely litigious. It's complete toilet now, the Soaps forum is a disgrace, whole threads with 'ooh lovely day innit' followed by inane emoticons and not ounce ounce of discussion of what's actually happening in the bleeping programmes. They moderate the showbiz form to the nth degree but soaps and others just get away with posting any old toss. I get reported a lot but I have never been perma banned.
OOOh I had some good arguments on the soap forum back in the day. The Corrie versus Eastenders stuff was legendary. I stopped posting their ages ago, because as you say, it’s crap.
General Discussion has also lost its way.

I have been a member since 2004 and in the early days it was a bleeping scream, then DSU was created and I had massive fall outs with all of them (can't believe it's still going tbh) and now it's just mediocre, butt clenching drivel on the whole (DS that is). I agree with the general consensus on Whedonite - no woman can ever be criticised. Veri is like Rumpole of the bleeping Bailey and I remember a couple of jokers - AOTB and ChipDouglas82 who rode in on their white knight chargers sticking up for big titted 'stunners' like Danielle Lloyd et al. I still post on there but in a very half arsed way.
Oh yes, back when EE was utter dogshit - 2004/05, I spent many weekends trolling EE fans, I lead a rich and fulfilling life.
Yeah, they had a thing about a Coronation Street actors ‘not clapping’ when Eastenders won any awards.
There was a poster called ‘Monalisa’ who was/is an obsessive Eastenders troll and borderline stalker of the cast, who was banned for posting threatening remarks about one of the producers when the show was going through a rough patch, it was really serious and the BBC actually got involved. DS pinned a notice at the top of the forum warning people about what they say. Then when the forum revamped last year, there was a ban amnesty and she was allowed back! Total nightmare and very unwell mentally in my opinion. But there you go, ours is not to reason why I suppose.
Oh blimey yes!! There was also MormonGirl who is severely autistic and she used to start threads about 'which EE actors have you met' and she'd always ask if people liked to read her posts. I suspect they're letting every Tom ,fool and Harry back because they have lost so many FM's.

Another thing about the Digital Spy forum - the ignore button is USELESS. It doesn't really hide the posts at all (just a grey cover and a message asking if you want to read the post) and you can still see them quoted.
I had several users on ignore by the end of it and it still didn't help.
