From what I've seen on here, it definitely seems to be a nicer place. If there is anyone on here that I've upset in the past, I apologise now - on DS, attack is the best form of defence sometimes.

Well done for sticking up for yourself for so long without losing your temper against that lot. Some of them, and we know who they are are not a full shilling.

I would have liked to but refrained as I didn't want to get banned . Wish I had now as I didn't say or do anything worthy of a ban so at least telling them what I really thought would have been worth it.

I agree that there are definitely a few that aren't all there - the pleasant members seem to have friends, jobs and lives where the most vocal and nasty ones are on the forum all day every day so I think that is fairly telling.

Exactly. Don't get me going on the one that has the perfect family with top jobs in every profession going or the really vile one who once claimed that her husband was a hospital doctor. My thoughts were "Christ, that's scary!"

On Digital Spy, there's just been this exchange on a Sean Connery thread.

Anyone remember Fredster?

Sad to say she passed away on the 5th October, I'm embarrassed that I've only just found this out, she was a friend on FB.
All that was said that she died suddenly.
NO! I posted a lot with fredster and we had great fun taking the piss, especially on the katie price threads. Well, for as long as they lasted before the snowflake katie fannies hammered the report button and got them locked.
I think I still have screen grabs of the crazy pricey fans going nuts and I bet fredster is in those taking the piss.
I'm so so sorry fredster has left us. I'll say a prayer for her. R.I.P Fredster.

walterwhite is always so rude.
On the end of every high posting username is usually a very sexually frustrated loser with no job
That's why they spend all their life on the internet and rack up 42,800 posts in 8 years. (That's 14-15 posts a day on that one site alone, every day - no holidays, no social life)

I scraped just over 7k on mine before a ban and that was over 12 years! At least I guess on a forum it’s an active conversation. I saw someone’s random Twitter feed, they had tens of thousands of posts but under 1 thousand followers. It was random tweets like “I hate walking to work omg” “it’s so sunny today, I’m melting” and it just left me thinking “Who are you talking to?” It’s no wonder people who are online so much don’t seem to be all there and not part of the “real world”

During my short tenure at DS, I struck up friendships with some real long-standing members who had clocked up well over 150,000 posts, but accrued only 300-400 "likes" in their 13+ years with the site. Most of them posting random stuff in the "Chatter" forum all day every day.

I mean, whatever floats your boat, but it does seem all rather futile

Apologies if I come across as a little hard on users with large post counts but I helped administer a (sports) forum for about ten years. You quickly get to know the poster types, a bit like this...

Yes, I've across at least 12 of those types of admin/global mod, on some of the sites I've been on over the years. It was quite an eye-opener back in the day, but now I just couldn't give two figs - life is short enough as it is

Just saw some uber-religious Trump fans on the news and it got me thinking of that very religious American lady who often used to comment on the DS Music/Politics forums. SweetheartHolly I think. She was always banging on about Steve and the Oak Ridge Boys or something like that, and ended every post by blessing him. Is she still around?

Not here or DS, but one forum I used to post on occasionally had a whole coterie of posters with their noses so far up the site-owners behind it was ridiculous. Dare to mention any way in which the site was less than perfect (there were many) and the sycophants would pile onto the poster in question.

God I just popped over there for a nose, they are still desperately rimming Johnny Depp!
The judge was bribed apparently

As former member I still sometimes do a drive-by and lurk at some of those threads, especially in the Politics forum. And OMG its like a piranha feeding frenzy if you even dare post a comment that goes against the consensus!
