A cursory check of the AV forum shows that the stray Wildebeest are slowly settling into their natural habitats. Sierra Mist has taken up residence in the Covid threads awaiting his ascension to demigod, and a few of the politics dwellers are already brexiting, corbyning and Johnsoning to their little fluttering hearts desires.
I am a little worried about James2001 though. He was an immense gob of course. That’s a given. But he was also a clearly very troubled individual and I do wonder if he has the mental capacity to contextualise and proportionalise today’s events.
And i’ve never really noticed her before, but still in the smoking ruins of post apocalyptic DS. Polly Perkins. What an mole.

At least they have a dedicated subforum for Covid there, something DS should have had.

Hi All another from DS haven't been on much since the password problems so It all change then oh well, hopefully settle here in my new home
Stunned at the news of the closure of GD, Politics and Showbiz but ultimately I'm pleased as the first two I mentioned are horrendously vile places and just make Hearst look beyond terrible for keeping them running in the manner they have been.
Showbiz used to be a lot of fun but it's a graveyard these days. The one thing I'll miss is the Liz Jones thread, which is brilliant. I'm hoping people who post there may come over here as there's a thread for the raging narc ready and waiting. Oh, and I will miss the Blind Items thread...have we got one of those here we can decamp to?

Someone has joined who I don't get on with ( well mostly its people not getting on with me because of my shall we say, different views on things) But I'm not one to take things from thread to thread or forum to forum. so IMO this is a new start for us all. except for walterwhite. bloody stalker

I’ve joined AV as well… but this will probably stay my preferred home.
The good side of DS doing this is, many will now get to see that actually they were not necessarily right in their views, it's just that everyone who disagreed was banned. That can only be a good thing.

I had a look but felt too intimated to sign up. I'm not into huge platforms which is why I've never posted on Reddit.
Tattle is just about right for me although I think it's going to get much bigger in the coming weeks.
DS is my eyes have gone downhill massively. I got really annoyed a few years ago how they stopped comments on their main website pages as I would love to read them. The forum is so heavily moderated that you can't have any fun on it. It was fun while it lasted.
Back in the smouldering ruins James2001 and CRM are STILL twatting on about 2017 and “Hateful Right Wingers”. These are two of the most unpleasant posters I can remember. I’m pleased to see MarellaK, who to everyone else is a reasonable nurse, but to James is the spiritual heir of Mussolini, has called him out on this. Sadly I don’t think self awareness can be taught and James is a lost course. I was worried about him last night, but after a good nights sleep I’m now tending to think that sometimes in life you get exactly what you deserve.
I do feel for the majority of decent posters who have lost the opportunity to engage in something they enjoy though. I hope some of them end up here.
