To be fair I was trying to give a veiled "fuck off" on that DS thread this morning - obviously within DS's mental moderation rules. I think tbh the mods have given up now as I reckon 90% of the posts I made would have been scrubbed a few weeks ago. But they remain. Clearly it's no holds barred on DS until the purge :ROFLMAO:
Alright, BelfastGuy. Joined the exodus have you?

Tattle has a feature I would love on DS. The feature to ignore not only certain threads but forums and subforums as well 😍

If ever you want proof of what DS is these days:
Broadcasting

Next to each other in Broadcasting

First a thread of "how wonderful it is Channel 4 is celebrating black people and ensuring black people are represented blah blah blah"
The second "bigtory in HD", "shameful right wing broadcasting" "gammon tv".

You don't even need to click on either thread to know what they will contain.
Yes dare to criticise Channel 4s black programming day and you're an evil racist

At one time a poster called LostPigeon* would have asked "What is your lover's favourite Pot Noodle flavour?"

*Does anyone remember him?
I remember him quite well, didn't he sign every post off with 'coo'?

Does anyone remember a poster called Native Moon or something similar? She was an American woman, living in Wales, with precarious health conditions. She used to post prolifically on Showbiz and Emmerdale threads, but suddenly stopped posting after having a disagreement with someone about a soap character. I hope she's okay.
The name rings a bell.

I can't think of the name but does she also hang around in Soaps obsessing over young child characters?
I wouldn't know if we are referring to the same FM as I don't read the soap forums. Possibly not the same person as to obsess over someone she would have to post more than a few words per post...unless they are all cumulative.

60K+ posts = 90% pointless crap.

Does anybody remember TheWizard?

He used to go on, and on, and on about the most trivial of things. He hasn't posted in a couple of years, but I remember he was trying to sue a Pub/Restaurant for some reason or another.
People used to think I was TheWizard :)

Is Andrew Neil doing the breakfast show? If he is they won't know who to be angry with the most, Nick Ferrari or Andrew Neil.

They'll have to watch TV and listen to the radio simultaneously.
Add Julia Hartley-Brewer on TalkRadio (though she is less of a 'gammon' and more a no BS journalist who is right leaning) and Piers Morgan at GMB when there is a non-binary or vegan guest.

They've can't wait for it to start; something new to slag off. They've already begun by calling it Gammon Radio.
Really? "Gammon radio" is what my teenage sister says about every station other than Capital! Bit of an odd thing for adults to say. And GB News isn't even radio anyway.

I am behind so not sure if this has been posted yet (probably) but it is not long for this world.
We are making some changes to Digital Spy Forums. In the coming days we will begin rolling out updates that will bring the forums more in line with our editorial website and help refocus our discussion platform.

Starting this week, we will begin making changes to the forum index by updating, archiving and adding to our discussion boards.

We will be putting three of our existing forums into read-only mode. Showbiz, General Discussion and Politics will no longer be listed on the main forum index and will be moved to our new Forum Archive. Forums moved to the Forum Archive will no longer be active and will not be able to receive new threads or posts, but they will still be accessible to read and search.

A new Streaming forum will be added to our TV category. This will be the new home for discussion surrounding every show, movie and original available on all streaming platforms. Right now these discussions are largely spread across UK TV Shows, US TV Shows and Cult, Sci-Fi and Fantasy TV Shows — by creating this new forum we hope to consolidate these discussions and bring focus to all of this content in one place.

We will also introduce new dedicated forums for Married at First Sight and RuPaul's Drag Race.

Chatter, which currently sits as a sub-forum in General Discussion, will be rebranded The Games Room and sit next to Advice on the forums index page.

Online Entertainment Services, which is currently listed on the main forum index, will become a sub-forum in the new Streaming forum.

We will also be creating a new Forum Announcements forum on the main index that will be a read-only forum for site updates, our Community Guidelines, our FAQ, a changelog and any other necessary information relating to DS Forums from Support.

You will also see quality-of-life improvements and updates in relation to forum names, descriptions and other areas of the forum as we continue to evaluate the community and refocus our platform.

Thank you for reading,

I remember seeing FP posts in the annoying customer thread, they seemed to hate everyone! What a strange creature they are!

(Your assessment has convinced me they're Buffalo Bill lol!)
I haven't seen those posts but I remember Waldo being a lot like that. Wasn't she always complaining about customers not bringing their own bags in?

DS must be in it's final months or at least final year
well if there has been a major decline in usage like there appears to have been

I can see it being decided its no longer viable to keep the forums running

its heartbreaking that in a few weeks Asa Hicks is shutting TV Forum after 20 years

but I understand why he,s decided to retire

I always use an ad blocker on DS. I've also stopped reading the articles on DS too because they're so many of the have some sort of message or pc angle.

The worst site to use without an ad blocker by far is The Daily Mail. Absolutely no idea how anyone looks at that site without one. Horrendous. Obviously having adverts generates income but it's counterproductive if you don't read the site in the first place because of the ads.
I use what is considered “old” tech and there are two things I actively stay away from. Articles with a load of embedded Tiktok videos (I don’t know what it is about that app that doesn’t affect my computer like YouTube, Twitter or Facebook videos do, but there’s something in them) and the Daily Mail website. Impossible for me to navigate through either smoothly.

Oooh, were you cel_001?

I didn't know betty had died as well.

What a shame DTV shut. Not.
I quite liked the DS thread when it was active, although I remember being slagged off for no valid reason for a post on DS so had to defend myself. I kept my DS and DTV user names different so I didn't get in trouble for stuff I said on DTV.

I think the only DTV user I remember was Debarkle.
