Does anyone remember the actor who Chris Parker, who played Spencer Moon in Eastenders? He also appeared on the very first series of Strictly and came runner up. Well he attempted to take his own life and had to be written out of the show, it was alleged it was in part because of awful stuff written about him in the DS soap forum and the mods had to make a pinned thread about it. We weren’t allowed to talk about him at all as there had obviously been a complaint made by either the BBC or his agent. I hadn’t thought about this for years until he was mentioned again in Eastenders recently. He has left acting altogether now I believe. The DS soap forum really was crazy back then.

The one thing I will say in defence of disliking reactions is you got a load of bottom feeders "laughing" at really nasty things, like children dying in a house fire or stuff like that.

The reaction buttons were "abused" but even then the tantrums about the buttons even existing was mental.

Because we can see who's reacted, I've seen people called out on inappropriate reactions. TBF I've not seen any real abusive of reactions.

When I first joined Tattle I was disappointed there was no direct messaging but I have come to realise it's a very good thing. I'm pretty sure there was a lot of collusion on some threads on DS via DM to target and bully certain posters.

I was bored one day and counted Tanya’s post (this was when they were still new, maybe about 3 or 4 months into their account but absolutely making a name for themselves by their posting style).

I don’t know if DS still does this but at the time they counted private reports to mods as posts so say for example if you had created 10 threads but also reported posts to the mods 5 times your created threads would show as 15 even though you’d only actually made 10.

In Tanya’s infancy the account had triple the thread count than the amount of threads they actually created. Why someone apparently so new would feel so aggrieved and abrasive to report so many users from the start is a mystery to me..

Why the mods allow it is a bigger one

She would post divvy questions about serious topics. I remember when the Malaysian Airline went missing, she would post things like -

‘they should just try and find it’
‘why don’t they just look harder?’

She used to post in the mass shootings threads with classics such as these -

Absolute fantasist, actually not even convinced they're Female. Not fussed if they're on this forum or not but they do have quite a distinctive style so I'm pretty sure if they are on here, they're not following the same threads I do.
They also can't get people banned on here.

I am too late, the posts have been deleted. It was a horrible post about all the "dead bodies" she has seen in her life, but it included a dead son. I have never seen any post from "her" to suggest such a thing before. Awful poster.

I knew that would happen. The Woman's a fruit loop fantasist. She did me a massive favour though getting me banned, I wouldn't have found my way here otherwise.

That sounds like the nastiest they've ever been.

The unconditional protection they have to run riot all over the board and any unsavoury mess is happily cleaned up by the mods is not something I've ever seen on any online platform in 20+ years.

I'm giving DS a wide berth in terms of the AW stuff. It's bad enough everywhere else but DS is a special brand of vile. I'd say it's a good thing their politics forum shut but all that's changed is the ones who posted there like it was their own personal playground turning the broadcasting forum into another version of it.

It's funny that Tattle gets hammered in the media but DS never gets a mention. There are/have been some seriously nasty, vile people on there.

I joined there about 2012 ish and had a lot of fun for many years but it changed quite drastically. The moderation is awful and very odd. I stayed well clear of the politics forum as that was just a cesspit (and I enjoy a good political debate) but when that closed the mentalists and bullies on there moved to other threads.

I think a lot went on via DM's to target various posters and get them banned.

Anyone seen the chose about the "DS Soap Awards". The wrong person started the thread, there was a war, and now they are both "hosting" together. What a total shit show. Who cares that much. I had to laugh at Mr.Pitkin telling them all to "GROW UP!!! NOW!!!!" on every second post and Tanya telling a story about the time she hosted an award ceremony and hooked up with whoever it was.

I think I mentioned this on here before on one of those “count to one million” threads (WHAT is the actual point to those threads btw?) and when they were reaching the milestone “non regulars” began to contribute and the tantrums that someone not in the gang would take the million spot was HILARIOUS

Yes! I am interested, although I haven’t been on either for ages. I came here from DS when they shut down most of the threads. I can’t believe I spent so long there now. There were some absolute horrors posting there and the moderation was batshit. Some excellent trolls there through the years though.

I only really read the Soap, LBC, Sport and Advice threads and my word there are some nasty, nasty people on there. By far the LBC one is full of the most opinionated, toxic individuals.

I don’t get the the gang up on Occy mentality. He/she is harmless.

I had a guy PM me asking if I was a virgin. I can't remember who it was or what could have prompted it but good example of the sort of weirdos that have always been on that forum.

Of present members still posting I am most creeped out by James2001. He's one of the nastiest people I've seen in twenty plus years online, constantly tearing into anyone who does not think exactly like him. The stuff he gets away with posting beggars belief.

On AVF, another previously ridiculed opinion that all the main political parties are basically the same, is now becoming accepted among those who voted Labour. Many of the posters who voted Labour last year and piled on anyone who dared to suggest "they are all the same", are today incandescent with rage at Starmer's crackdown on benefits policy and vowing never to vote Labour again! Who would have thought the wise old sages on AVF could get things so massively wrong......again? Meanwhile, most of those who actually called it correctly are no longer around to engage in the discussions due to the biased moderation policy implemented by Stuart Wright!
