I believe the factories in those TikTok’s are actually the ones that produce the fakes, inc. ‘super fakes’ or ‘1:1 fakes’ and they are thinly disguised ads to sell these fakes directly to customers. They are claiming that even Hermes bags are made in China. I don’t believe that for a minute.
Absolutely agree - Hermes as an example has a number of factories spread throughout France, and their artisans are trained extensively. Is there a markup on bags etc? Absolutely - but authentic Birkins and Kellys aren't getting cranked out in China and finished off in France. Even getting the bag spa, your bag is shipped off to France to get seen to.
I do believe there are a number of brands would have comparable outputs from Chinese factories, but even the quality of leathers etc has to be thought about.

Anyone like Vampire’s Wife dresses? It was my dream to own a Falconetti, I planned to wear one on my 50th but that’s not going to happen now she’s closed it down 🥹 The sale has been very good but not available online ☹ anyone manage to get there?
There’s a lot of TikTok content about the sale (including the fact they let influencers in first 😂) if you’re curious! Apparently they were selling falconettis for £200-400, so suspect at least some of those will end up on resale platforms tbh? There’s a few on vestiaire atm too.

No, I love to have everyone’s feedback & complete understand what you are saying @heretoreaditall2019. Will definitely google small independent leather shops. Thank you also @Notorious PIG & @BlairWaldorf86 for the recommendation I can’t wait to start researching your recommendations. Looking forward to starting my journey with everyone’s help and advice ❤

I have a dilemma; purchased a pair of Le Chameau wellies from the outlet section of their website, they’ve arrived and they’re a little snug across the top of the foot, I could do with sizing up, but the entire outlet has vanished from the site now.

The boots with boot bag and wax stick as a bundle came to just £58, which for that brand is an absolute steal! So should I keep them because it was such a ridiculously low price, even if they’re a little tight? Should I maybe sell them on? Or should I return them and just pay out full price to replace them with something I’d be happier with?
Definitely get rid. I’m not a health hypochondriac but inappropriate shoes do damage feet and it can cause issues with stability, posture, etc and need physio/regular exercises to correct! Most importantly life is too short and there will never be a time where you want to be in pain for the duration of wear & after. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you were to buy one...would it be ?

LV - Alma BB
LV - Speedy Bandouiliere 25

would be in Damier Ebene canvas. Not sure if I'm buying but I keep being drawn to them
Alma BB, I got one in 2020 and it’s still my most used bag. I use it almost every time I go out and I’m not sick of it. You can dress it up or down.

Ok lovely people I need some ideas! It’s my 30th this year Mr HoneyStar has asked if I want to pick out some jewellery (or at least give some strong hinted suggestions)…what would you all recommend? My first thought was a tennis bracelet but would love to know if anyone has a sentimental piece/piece of jewellery they received for a milestone that they still love?
I got a Cartier love bracelet for a milestone birthday- still look at it & love it ❤ ( never removed it either ) I have a tennis bracelet but I very rarely wear it for some unknown reason x

Sooo many thoughts on it!! Firstly, this content is propaganda that exists because of an imminent/newly established trade war. Yes some of it is funny, but also… propaganda is not (always?) true. A lot of people are relishing this as an opportunity to consume at levels they haven’t been able to before - whether that’s wealth signifiers or volume.

Dana Thomas’ books on luxury fashion are worth reading for anyone interested in the margins and the ickiness behind it all. It’s like business x real housewives, so not a dry read.

I wasn’t aware of the market for super fakes until recently. I found a subreddit where people get really obsessive about it.

It’s called r/RepladiesDesigner if anyone’s interested (in snooping, not buying!). These women are spending serious money on designer super fakes with zero thought for the fact they could be inadvertently helping to fund drug cartels and organised crime groups.

Personally if I only had mid-market money for a bag (actually there’s no “if” about it in my case 😅) I’d rather buy from a mid-market brand than support the counterfeit industry.

I’ve been really happy with my purchases from Strathberry and Coach, and I have a bag winging its way to me from Songmont as we speak. It’s the Song bag, which to me looks like a cross between an Hermes Picotin and a Lindy, without being an overt copy of either IYSWIM.

As much as I’ve always wanted an LV I’m not sure I’ll ever save up for one. Just seems insane to spent £1.5k minimum for a bag. It’s just so much money.
I agree. I'm sometimes worried about taking my strathberry on a night out, nevermind a bag that's over 1k 😂 i think mid range is a great level in terms of quality and price. I don't see how you could get much better quality for a higher price and that's what matters to me

I have a Coach reversible belt which is a few years old now but still looks great. It's a really good about how quickly something with a logo could date.

Please can someone help me find a new workbag? Criteria are it must zip up / fully close as I have to commute on the train and walk in the rain, be big enough to chuck all manners of things in including an A5 notebook and have pockets for bits so that I don't have to constantly rummage for things. It seems to be impossible to find anything vaguely stylish that meets this. Happy to spend up to £2-3k and will use everyday rather than keep for best. Thanks
My work bag is an Aspinal one. Had it a good few years now and it's dashed around and looks good as new. Their quality is 🤌

I love these Bee themed Loewe bags for Spring/Summer. They are adorable and a bit of fun. 🐝 🐝 🐝 Think the hive is my favourite.

The price tag for a bit of fun though 😬

I'm going on the 27th November as got complementary special parking and hands free shopping after some faff with members parking last time. Be rude not to.

I have also sinned everyone. Labubu got me. So all my designer bags are now adorned by one 🙈🤣
Labubu also accompanies two of my bags and another on the way 🤣

They remind me of peasant shoes from the 1800s (sorry 🥴)

Is it a thing now to not receive a dust bag with a designer handbag? Bought one from an airport and got one. Bought two from Harvey Nichols and neither came with one.
Which designer was it? I’d expect a dust bag with any brand mid-market and above.
