General question,

What’s the most you’d spend on a bag.
- Watch
- Item of Jewellery like ring/bracelet

and how do you pay?
out right, on credit.
Always interested to know what the cut off point is for people.
The most I’ve spent on a bag is £4k. Most I’d pay is Hermes birkin prices basically). Nothing more than that, I think they’re about 7-8k, depending on leather
The most I’d spend on a watch is £15k
The most I’d spend on a piece of jewellery is £10k

I say all this but if I had infinites amount of cash, the sky is the limit 🥰

not even going to beat around the bush here, my dad pays for all my stuff 😂

Hi guys! Finally bit the bullet and bought the tan Celine triomphe belt 🤎 Thanks for all your help in the previous thread helping me decide xxxxx 🛍
It looks great on you!! What bag are you wearing? 🤎

Hi all :) Need your advice please 🙂 I’m thinking to buy the Jacquemus Le Grand Chiquito in the beige linen (exact in picture). Do you think this bag will go out of style/is it worth it?
Personally, I'd avoid it. With the sheer amount of exposure they've had, they're on the way out.
(I will admit to being the most classic/boring buyer in history though)

For mid-high range you might like polene, senreve, telfar, lutz Morris, everlane, bimba y lola (crossbody), longchamp, shrimps, Marc jacobs, madwell. Outnet has some Chloe and other good bags around £200. TK Maxx has been surprising recently with Chloe and McQueen. Have to second strathberry, their bags are stunning.

For Celine, if you like it, you like it. Plus I feel it’s been so long since the high street copied the luggage that it’s fine now. But I do really like the phantom and belt. Just got the Sangle and I’m in love 😍😍😍😍

I’m well aware that Canada goose uses real fur, and I don’t want to derail from the thread too much, but they are stopping the use of fur now.

A very tiny amount of luxury fashion is completely ethical. Louis Vuitton burn their old stock and contribute to harmful gases in the environment, there is no evidence to ensure they provide a living wage to their workers. Chanel score very low on the fashion transparency index, Fendi and Hermes both use exotic animal skin. Also, Dior are currently using coyote fur on their jackets (the exact same fur Canada goose were using). PETA even looked into how Hermes were slaughtering crocodiles and Ostriches for their bags, and shared the results online.

No part of this is ethical, it’s sad of course, but it’s hard to find a luxury brand that is 100% ethical. A lot are very far from it
As I said, I’m not getting on my ethical high horse, but for me the thought of all that fur round my neck makes me feel ill. Canada Goose or otherwise.

A friend of mine recently won an LV bag on a kusadasi raffle page on Facebook 🤣. It’s a copy of one that I own. She knows it’s fake and doesn’t care but she keeps rubbing it in my face how there’s barely any difference and she didn’t have to spend “grands” and has one like me. We went for drinks on Friday and she kept telling people how expensive my bag was but that she has the same one and got it so much cheaper. 😫😫.

it’s really annoying but I’ll let her keep her happiness, just feels like she’s digging at me somehow.
That’s nothing to brag about is she ok 🥴

Exciting stuff!!

I’ve ordered a pair of Arizona Love sandals from Net a Porter as we’re off on a little mini break next week and need some sandals with a bit of cushioning - all mine are super flat and give me back ache if I wear all day ☹ Im thinking they’re not gonna get here in time though - NaP shipping isn’t the quickest at sale time.

Sorry I meant would it put you off carrying the bag? If she told you it was genuine, when you know it’s not, would you say anything?

i don’t plan on saying anything, it’s none of my concern how she spends her money and if she wants a fake that’s totally up to her, I was just curious about your guys responses!
I wouldn't say anything. It will make you come across as a bit snobby which I'm sure isn't your intention! Fakes are everywhere, just one of those things, they do annoy me too but at the end of the day, the quality is poor and I want my bag to last for years. With the cost of living going up, I think a lot of people are putting their money elsewhere or simply can't justify spending hundreds if not thousands on a bag.

Is there a flannels code floating around, please? Want something in the sale, hoping it’s still there when they do an extra 20% off
I’m waiting for codes too, think they might do one at Easter? 🤞🏾 Share any if we are allowed?
Even though I have a love/hate relationship with Flannels, they do do a good sale. And even though I’ve moaned about their postage charges on here before, it arrives the next day (even if you pay standard p&p) and with the Flannels pouch. I even got an Alexander McQueen hanger with my top last time 🙌🏾.

A job that dosnt earn enough 😂😂
Hahaha right!

In all honestly I do earn well (answer to your question I run 2 small businesses and have a property portfolio) but Mr has bought all of my more expensive stuff and thats always in moderation for birthdays and such…He is less of a spend thrift than I am but I don’t even think I’m that bad 😬😬 not in comparison to what we see from some on instagram for example. I definitely think about buying more than I actually do.

I know someone who gets fake Nikes from there - why though?? Surely part of buying branded sports shoes is to give feet support and comfort from the reputable brand, I’m sure the fakes don’t offer the same.
You should always spend on quality shoes and a quality mattress, cus your always in one or the other! 😂🙌🏼 #lifeadvice

I have a Faux Chanel I got from a Spanish Market many, many years ago and its still going. I do love it but then I couldn't warrant spending what Chanel charge these days!

I do prefer buying a nice bag now. I see some in the high St shops and I'm like meh. Kate Spade is my favourite for everyday bags, I have 1 Quilted MK bag that is a bit beautiful then the bigger brands are for fancy 🤣
Love Kate spade!, also have a couple of MK handbags for everyday and I do like the quality of them to be fair :)

Can we talk about our dream engagement/wedding ring? 😍 How much would you/your partner spend? My boyfriend has asked me what I’d like recently so it’s got me excited!

Hi all! Total lurker and really enjoy this thread! I've no idea about designers, or bags, but I love reading about it all and seeing your purchases! I've recently thought I'd love a pair of Chanel cc earrings (i dont wear any other jewellery apart from my engagement and wedding rings), just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on them, or are they too common? I'd like to treat myself to something nice and simple but not sure where to buy from!
This might be an unpopular opinion so apologies in advance, but if this is a special/rare purchase I’d say don’t get them. Purely because they’re just costume jewellery and won’t last forever, you’d get a lot more for your money eg not just something plated, and in a timeless/really special design rather than some CC earrings. Also would suspect you’d get more wear out of a less branded item too…? 😬

Or even something vintage which would be cheaper than buying new/bespoke jewellery would be lovely!

I’m probably super behind, but I saw this yesterday in Harrods, and it’s the first I’ve seen this messaging in a luxury store
