Bit of goss about flannels my other half had a meeting with someone involved with them and they told him that a lot of their stuff are seconds that haven’t passed quality control for the main stores. Not always a bad thing if you’re paying less but just double check anything you buy.
Also apparently their Gucci sales are higher than for the London stores themselves!

, my current day bag is a Micheal kors , so not expensive but it’s not leather and I’m trying to go none leather with everything. And they laugh and say oh for that amount you could have bought this. No I’d rather have nothing than a fake

I totally agree with this. If I couldn’t afford designer bags, I’d buy good quality leather bags, they don’t have to be from big brands. As people say “act your wage”Loads of the school mums have fake Gucci bags
can’t wait to open it 
not really something I should be dipping into my savings for but every outfit I’ve put on recently I’ve been like ohhh that belt would go so well with this

The whole buying fakes thing bothers and fascinates me. Ive known a few people carry them like a badge of honour acting so proud of themselves for it.
It bothers me because of the mentioned issues regarding crime etc (and that it’s simply theft of another’s work.)
But it also fascinates me as to why somebody does buy a fake especially when the issues surrounding them are so wildly known. You also don’t really know what you’re buying. Weren’t some fake goods found to be toxic ? (I know fake beauty products have been tested and found to contain some vile ingredients) can’t remember if the same applies to goods like shoes and bags.
The stupid thing is some of the most popular designer bags/accessories/shoes eventually work there way down into the high street. Growing up and into my early 20’s I had more than one quilted flap bag that was in the style of Chanel (I had a beautiful tweed and pearl Chanel style bag from topshop in about 2006/7 I was so sad when it broke) but I never once even considered buying an actual fake because it just didn’t feel right. (I also wanted that experience of going to the shop and buying one)

I hate it when people ask, as it’s usually from a judgemental perspective. I just say “a lot” and smile. It tends to shut down the conversation.

Most of the time I don’t don’t bother with a response especially if they’ve been rude or judgmental. What I do with my money is my business. If I can see someone’s being genuinely curious in a nice way I might entertain them with a response.
My ex’s mother was an incredibly judgmental bitch regarding my LV bags (at the time my only two nice bags bought for my 18&21 birthdays) she (and my ex) found it ridiculous I had a handbag that cost that much but she (and his father) were both heavy drinkers and smoked like chimneys (probably spending twice want my bag cost a year on cigarettes) and my ex bf used to drop £££ on games consoles, games and accessories. Found them all really awful people when I got out of the relationship.

I know exactly what you mean and I'm always surprised too - some of them are practically indistinguishable from the real thing! I think there are lots and lots of fakes on instagram.
Have to say though that it's not cool to buy a fake. They are often made in horrendous conditions by under age workers who earn very little for their 12 hour days. There has also been evidence to suggest that counterfeit bags/goods help support terrorism, corruption, gun and drug gangs. And that's even before we talk about the designers work being ripped off (small fry compared to the other issues in my opinion but still something to consider). I get how tempting it can be though.
