So Libby wasn’t recording because she thought he looked weird. She was just recording her mate crossing the bridge and that fucker was coming up behind her. The barely audible hi when he speaks to them makes me want to cry. They were just babies.

I think maybe she started like that but it quickly became more about him too. Otherwise why would she have kept the video running?

He approached so damn quick though. And it makes me so angry that the media and youtubers lied about how far away he was. You can tell he is close and you can also tell he isn't anywhere near Ron logans 6ft size.

I think she did record because he was odd as they could see him coming up to them when he'd gone past them earlier (I think)? They knew the only reason he was coming up was to approach them.

I can't hear exactly what's said but it fills me with anger and sadness. Those poor poor girls.

My interpretation was that he had already ordered them where to go when the video starts and was following them to the location. She was trying to give clues in where that location was in her filming and what she was saying.

I think it’s because his lawyers released the footage to suggest that it isn’t him?

In one of his confessions he tried to claim that he thought they were older. Watching that video, there's NO WAY he thought they were older. If anything, they both look and sound younger.

Have watched again I think you can hear Abby ask "is he right behind me?" at the start, almost like they're thinking it's a bit funny/weird at this stage and they've obviously been commenting on it. And Libby give a sort of nervous laugh. That's why she starts filming and talking about their route, to try and act normal... Hoping he will just walk past them... It's the kind of thing I'd do.

I wonder why it wasn't released in full sooner: it would have made it much easier to identify him IMO. But they'll have had their reasons.

May he burn in hell.

Watching it made me feel so sad. Those poor girls. I think every woman/girl has been in that position where you feel your senses heightened and have a bad intuition about someone. Thankfully most of those times were ok. They clearly felt that same feeling and no one else was around to save them their voices sound so young in the video too and you can hear their uncertainty. What a disgusting human being he is to take their lives

I was just about to say the same thing. We all know that fear we can hear in their sweet voices. Hoping the creepy guy will leave you alone. Being polite so you don’t evoke an angry response.
I didn’t think I could hate him more than I did but hearing them and seeing how he marched right up to them b!
I just wanted to pluck them out the screen to safety.
You can see how small he is too. It’s strange seeing him not so pixelated.

I would agree. I think they're scared but also they're probably full of adrenaline having just crossed a rickety bridge, probably much quicker than they wanted due to the guy behind them.

I saw a podcast say this was the stabilised version of the video and the original had the image flying all over the place which would explain why people didn't see Richard Allen (I'm not even going to call him BG anymore, he's Richard Allen)
But also shows how scared the girls were and how chaotic it was.

See he has put in an appeal this week, not sure how American courts work so don’t know how long till heard.
Poor families having to go through it all again, in this case I really wish they had went for death penalty.

He has nothing else to do at this point. He'll be sitting, rotting in his cell working on appeal after appeal for the rest of his miserable life. I hope some other prisoners get hold of him.

What was so shocking to me was that it was a beautiful sunny day and they were just acting like any teen girls would, and suddenly some psycho comes up behind them and murders them. What got me while watching the video is that they were dead very quickly after it stopped.

Exactly. They should have been safe. It was the middle of the day. There were other people hiking in the area. They were getting picked up only a couple of hours after they were dropped off and their loved ones were searching for them straight away. They should have been safe.

I've only just heard about this horrific crime. I've seen the video and now can't stop thinking about those poor girls and how scared they must have been. What a disgusting and horrible world we live in.

Tom Webster has just done a podcast on utube , he has all the recordings from the calls to his wife and mother.
It’s 5 hours so haven’t watched it all but what I have heard, you can recognise his voice from the BG video.
When he confesses i Really think he sounds relieved to tell her but she won’t listen to him at all.
