I used to quite like Walliams during Little Britain's heyday! I know the camp persona rubs people up the wrong way (pardon the pun!) - that schtick was probably amusing 20 years ago, but it's beyond clichéd nowadays - it's interesting how he flirts with Simon Cowell given the rumours about him!
Anyway, I always thought he was harmless - but it seemed as though Lara Stone wanted to get the
duck away from him when their marriage dissolved. Maybe a dealbreaker occurred?
I once bought the book "
Inside Little Britain" (written in the style Chris Hughes did/does with the likes of Robbie Williams, Pet Shop Boys et al, following the subject around, giving day-to-day accounts with more in-depth interviews here and there) and it portrayed David as something of a hopeless romantic, spooked by recurring episodes of depression and despair. He came across as very insecure and moody. Matt maybe wasn't painted as sympathetically - he drove Walliams crazy eternally turning up late and allegedly being lazy.
Anyone famous and/or wealthy who sleazes after young women and then discards them is a predatory scumbag. These girls are so young (the ones allegedly being invited backstage to BGT) - the power imbalance is huge. I hate cancel culture but in this case he deserves it - if it's true.
