'Private conversation', my a. Just gives a general insight into what many of us already think about him.

Clearly the article is to test the waters, and get it out there, whilst the lawyers clear the other stuff they really want to publish.

'Litigious'. Perfect description for some people who care little for the impact of their behaviour on others and are willing to spend infinite amounts of dosh covering up their 'misdemeanors' and preserving their 'reputations'. In his case, though, what 'reputation'? He's widely thought of as a sleaze and 'icky'. I don't think anyone should be falsely accused or 'judged' on the basis of hearsay but Walliams does come across as someone who judges others somewhat contemptuously, especially if he considers them 'beneath' him (as shown by his recent comments). Don't get me wrong, we all witch and judge. (I wouldn't be on 'Tattle' otherwise). Sometimes, it's just an outlet and we wouldn't wish and real ill or harm to our 'targets'. However, he's in a position of power as a BGT (highly paid) show judge and those comments are an insight into how (unprofessionally) he regards auditionees that he doesn't care much for. Am resisting commenting on more sinister things he may have said or done ('tip of the iceberg' stuff) but if real evidence emerges, I hope he is tested on it instead of buying his way out.

“Walliams’ remarks about contestants are likely to raise questions about his conduct on the hit show, and contribute to the ongoing debate about the ethics of reality TV and its treatment of members of the public.”

Wow they are really testing the waters there, this will definitely be the start of something, as these stories usually provoke a Twitter reaction from other alleged victims.

Just leaving this here!

It's a shame Piers Morgan is the one making the comment though. He's hardly sleaze-free!

But yeah. I'm not surprised by his comments. I wonder who leaked them? Someone who has it in for him?!

Aren't we getting a documentary on the x factor as well

Hopefully this spells the beginning of the end for this odious man.
Weird he isn't just owning it and trying to make excuses. You can't use private convo as an excuse when you're filming a TV show that's got cameras all around recording all day long for auditions and the ITV 2 show with unseen footage. It's incredibly risky and stupid to say such things in such surroundings, nevermind thousands of people in the audience.

There was a thread on mumsnet quite recently in which a few posters talked how he’d been all over their teenage daughters when they’d met. One said he even blanked her but made a huge fuss of her seventeen year old.

Unless someone actually makes a credible accusation of a criminal offence to police there's not really anything that can be reported.

Can someone spit it out?

I've heard that publishers and publicists have told their assistants (junior staff) not to be alone or take solo meetings with him....make of that what you will. I can't remember which publishing house he is with but it sounds like it would be true. I thought this is what this tweet alludes to but I could be wrong!

Those comments are really unpleasant. Such arrogance and contempt. He’s obviously talking to someone though, isn’t he? I wonder what his other judges think of him. Cant believe his first line of defence is that it was a ‘private conversation’. The twit was mic’d up. He didn’t care if crew/production/judges heard. He only cares now they’ve been leaked to the press.
