I’ve noticed a couple of non-stories about him cropping up in the red tops. Call me cynical but lots of times this is a warning shot when they are in a position to publish dirt on someone and are fishing for an “exclusive”. Or sometimes when they can’t publish but they are trying to stir public interest. Watch this space!

So, apparently this week just gone the Guardian were about to drop a big story that they’ve been sitting on for a while. Walliams and his lawyers managed to get it blocked, but the following day he was dropped by his publishers anyway. Something big is about to come out about him IMO.

The Guardian has been trying to expose him since 2020, and the fact they’re still actively pursuing this despite legal pressure to stop them says a lot. On top of that, I’ve seen countless posts from authors and publishers claiming the industry all knew what was going on. Media organisations don’t usually keep pushing unless they think the evidence meets a very high bar, because the legal and financial risk is enormous.

Re ML - a friend of mine went on a ‘date’ when he was 19 (this was a decade ago, ML would have been 41). My friend was v early in his career at the time and I think ML had slid into his DMs and offered him some advice on working in the TV/film industry. Not that there’s anything inherently wrong with that age gap, but he was exploiting his power and my mate felt really weird about it after and ML wouldn’t leave him alone for ages. Nothing more nefarious than that but i remember thinking it was a bit off at the time

The biggest issue for me is that time and time again it's "the system" that allows these abusers to carry on for years and in some cases even protects them (Epstein as the biggest case in point), the entertainment industry as a whole is full of abusers - music, film, tv, publishing - they're fucking everywhere and even in 2026, in some cases, are deemed important enough to continue covering up their crimes.

How many times have we heard women being told to stay away from certain "stars" or make sure you are never alone with them?

Same as we've always been told to be careful of how we dress or behave around certain men.
How about the same effort being put into telling the actual abusers to stop, that their behaviour is unacceptable and that they cannot continue behaving in this way

Yes, and also "the system" doesn't really exist - it is made up of individual people. People who knew what was happening and decided not to do anything. I was pushed from a workplace a few years ago for blowing the whistle on a man. 3 other women told me he'd done the same to them, but they wouldn't speak against him on the record, so it was just me. It was awful.

"The system" can always be blamed because it's faceless and lets individuals get away.

The comments on the DM articles are infuriating and brainless. It so reminds me of the Schofield “unwise but not illegal” nonsense. They say “he’s only done x,y,z what’s the girl complaining about”, without realising the x,y,z in question are classic examples of grooming behaviour. They are totally unable to read between the lines and seem naive as to how the press works around things like this.

Whilst I'd rule nothing out with Walliams, this does seem far too bonkers to be true. It would have been instantly career-ending to want to reveal it, and he's not that daft.

Had some info from a very reliable source who would know that the sister story in the book, is in fact true. Shocked ( though I shouldn't be )

He has a team of ghost writers. It’s a well-known secret. A host of ghosts, if you will.

From the DM ‘The children's author has published more than 40 works’ - his first children’s book was published in 2008. How on earth has he managed to keep up standards and publish 40 in an 18 year period? He must be pumping out 2-3 books a year? Roald Dahl only published around 20 children’s books in about 46 years!

In fairness there is a real problem, particularly in boys, to get them to engage and enjoy reading so good children's books are needed desperately. That being said I personally would never buy one of his books. My niece used to love his books and it took all my willpower not to say anything about DW.

These are not good books though. They’re really badly written, rely on lazy stereotypes and cruel humour. Just horrible to read aloud. There are lots of really good children’s authors - even some other celebrities.

The problem is he’s been praised for years for this sort of bad behaviour and lame ”jokes” and to be honest he doesn’t really have anything else to him so he can’t change.

I think there's always been a silent majority who dont find people like this funny. But because those are silent, the stars are bigged up by their fans and people around them who have a vested interest. And then there are the people around them who humour them or laugh nervously and awkwardly to not appear humourless or troublemakers. The talent has the power, and there aren't the trusted and safe outlets and processes for people to complain. And this sort of thing has always gone on, and always will continue to do so sadly. But hopefully it eventually wont take 10+ years for people to feel safe to complain and no one will be above decency, and in some situations, the law.

I always wonder how these people would feel if their 16/17 year old daughters were randomly being invited to sets to 'hang out' by men old enough to be their dads? Or were receiving Instagram messages from one telling them how attractive they are? Sure it's not technically illegal, but it would raise alarm bells about why the fuck they'd want to 'hang out' with teenagers or are looking through their Instagram photos in the first place, no?
