I find it interesting whilst reading about this over the past few weeks is how many have blamed Jordyn or tried to excuse his behaviour.
‘She married a rockstar, what did she think would happen?’, ‘they have an open relationship’, etc etc
Granted, they may have had an open relationship but there’s no evidence of that.
And yes he may be a rockstar but he made being a family man his whole brand. He had married, had three children with Jordyn, she seems to have put whatever career she had on the back burner to raise the children yet somehow it’s Jordyn’s fault that Dave cheated?
And again, even if they did have an open relationship I’m sure there is a mutual understanding that you don’t have unprotected sex and put your spouse at risk of god knows what.
Argh, sorry but this has been bugging me for weeks.
And I know to some people infidelity isn’t seen as a big issue anymore but I feel with Dave it’s different because like I said he made being a family man into his brand. He talked about it for the past 15 +years, it’s mentioned in documentaries and in interviews he did, bought his daughter out to gigs, etc. Even his book (which granted I haven’t read but I’ve been told about) doesn’t really read as a book written by a stereotypical rockstar but as a man who places a lot of emphasis on his family. And I think that’s why it sucks because not only has he lied to everyone but it’s almost underhand how he’s been, it’s not authentic. And now I feel like Dave will most likely be more angry that he’s lost some of his reputation than the fact he’s fathered a child outside his marriage at nearly 60.
I don’t know if I’m explaining it well but it’s being annoying me haha.
I wish they would revisit that article that came out after Taylor died about Dave and his behaviour. I feel like Taylor was enamoured with Dave to the extent he couldn’t say no.
