Ugh I hate men😂 like why can they not just stick to the original plan 😂

Update: he says oh well, if you don’t wanna go for drinks then, we’ll leave it off 😠
Tbh the cuddles thing would have immediately put me off and looks like he was hoping for stuff to get physical from the off. He’s saved you the bother of putting on makeup and getting ready; I’d count that as a blessing.

I think the beauty of this thread is that everyone here truly wants the best for the others even though we know nothing about one another and are essentially faceless cyber avatars. Sometimes the problem with friends or people in our real lives is that they misjudge your intentions with dating advice as you being ‘jealous’ or having ulterior motives for saying things. But that’s not the case here it’s just brutal honesty with good intentions.

Wouldn’t it be marvellous if there was a dating app where you could have reviews.

Thank you both. That is the kind of advice I needed, I am a kind person and I don’t want to hurt his poor wife which is why this far I’ve told him there’s no chance! I just wanted to talk it out so thank you!
I've met a guy out and about, we clicked, got chatting on socials, and then he told me he was married. I wish he was single but he's not, and tbh if he's not faithful to his wife, he is unlikely to be faithful to me. To be honest, you and the wife both deserve better

Hi guys, back for my hinge dating advice 🤣
been chatting to this lad who I thought seemed lovely, my opinion hasn’t changed yet, he did ask me on a date, supposed to go on Monday!
now, we were chatting about our past relationships..he talked about his then I spoke about mine. I said before it , “Jesus I dunno if ya wanna know about mine now tbh because ya might ghost me🤣” to which he says “well I’ve shared my madness you might as well tell me all about yours.”
So away I went… then he said “okay I’m not gonna lie. This is a lot to take in. I’m gonna need time to process this”
My ex was an alcoholic, I was engaged and that was the reason we broke up. Long story short. He’s going to ghost me isn’t he🤣🤣 and he’s prob gonna ditch our date Monday😂
I never think it’s a good idea or necessary to talk about past relationships tbh but if he jumps ship now then he’s probably not worth it.

I once found a profile of my ex husband on tinder, not long after we separated. Ok fair enough, I’m here too, no big deal. But then I realised that one of his pictures was a professional photo taken on our wedding day. There he is suited and booted gazing lovingly and longingly into the middle distance (where I would be were I not cropped out). Oh how I laughed!

i don’t mind the animal pics, the kids pics are a bit inappropriate but what really annoys me is when they’re nearly all group pics and it’s the final photo before their actual identity is revealed and they are without fail always the least attractive of the bunch. So not only are they going to be less attractive in direct comparison to their hot friends, but they’re also failing to manage expectations. Why do it to themselves?!
If they have group pics I always message asking if the fittest one is single 🤣

If he’s doing it to his wife, he’ll do it to you if you took it further. Don’t go there 🤣

A man's perspective. To be fair, I can imagine it can be difficult but all I can think is yes but as you all want the focus on your dick it's no surprise really. Either way, it's not an attractive opener. To whoever asked it's POF and I don't recommend!
It's sooo unattractive when men (I assume some women do it too) start their bio by complaining about how hard done by they've been on dating apps. I mean...Read the room! Major incel vibes!

And 'Too be honest there loss. I'm a man of many talents...' English clearly isn't one of them...

And what's all that about carers, hairdressers etc.? Is he saying these women aren't good enough for him cos of their job? Who the fuck does this guy think he is!?
This riled me haha 😅

I feel a bit sad lately. Everyone seems to have someone, all my friends are either dating successfully or in relationships and I can’t find anyone. Hinge is full of low quality men.

I recently ended a stint of dates with a lovely guy, I just felt like he was not ready for a serious relationship. Mentioned stuff about lads holidays and whatnot. He said in one conversation how his friends had been together years and alluded to how he wouldn’t marry/feel the need to propose… something I feel is a really weird thing to allude to. Most women want marriage.

Im wondering if I should have just sucked it up. He was nice, generous and kind. I just felt like he was too immature and not *quite* there yet. Probably due to covid and lockdowns, missing out on 2-3 pivotal years that men need to grow up and get out of their system compared to women (he’s 28.)
It can seem that everyone is having more luck than you, or things are easy and better for others. It can be really hard not to, but try not to compare with others. Often there’s a different story behind closed doors. I can guarantee this man would have made you miserable in time, because you were on different pages. He wouldn’t have said those things if he didn’t want to communicate those things to you. He said it, you listened and you walked. You should commend yourself for seeing the mismatch with intentions. It’s hard when someone, in all other respects, seems lovely. That’s what drives doubt, and makes us overlook the glaring things they’ve told us. You can now go and find someone who is open to the same future as you. It is infinitely better to be happy and alone, than miserable with the wrong person. Freeing yourself to find the right man is the smart move. Keep your chin up and know that better things are in store for you 🙂

not just the trip to Japan, but making travelling practically their entire persona. “Swipe right for adventures with me!”
like really Bob? You want to call your all-inclusive vacation to the same three countries every few years an adventure?

I’m feeling very blue.

I was speaking with a guy and all it seemed ok, he added me on instagram and we chatted a lot on there, he ALWAYS reacted to my photos and stories. We had a date arranged for tonight.

the other day he messaged me to say he had seen me out and about in my car and ever since he’s just gone really quiet and now he’s cancelled our date.

He clearly saw me in person and went off me 😞😞 I’m feeling completely rubbish about myself now!

Hope you are all doing ok x
Don’t take it personally. There could be a number of reasons why he’s slow fading/disappeared -met someone else, has a gf, etc etc. it just happened to be around the time he may have seen you out. Who even cares! He seems flighty and also saved you the effort of a date. He is no one to you, so his opinions and actions are irrelevant. New people await.

Thanks everyone ❤ Think I was just having a bit of a wobble but I'm gonna try and relax!
I'm meeting him at the train station as he doesn't know the city very well and then we're walking to a museum. I was a bit worried about the walk being long and awkward but I think it could also be good as we're not just sat staring at each other.
You're all right- when I'm messaging him it's just like talking to a friend so it shouldn't be any different in person

Thoughts on updating his hinge profile after 4 dates? We were meant to have our fifth last week but he had to cancel as he’d being going through family stuff (messaged me about that last night saying how much I’d cheered him up and he was sorry I had to deal with that), but noticed this morning he’d updated his hinge profile with a new picture he took at work Friday. Not sure how to feel…
This is a tricky one as technically you’re not together in that he’s not really doing anything wrong here unless you’ve already had the conversation that you’re only dating each other?
I personally can’t manage the whole dating more than one person at once & I think the guy I’m seeing is similar - he still has hinge but hasn’t been on (according to him) & I’ve deleted mine. Not because I think this guy is the one or anything but purely because I cba going on it & would have a break if this didn’t work out.
It would bother me 100% or at least make me think well he’s obviously still looking so maybe I should too. I think you’ve got 3 options here: you speak to him & find out his stance on dating more than 1 person etc or you pull back a bit from him & go back on hinge yourself & see who else is out there or you carry on being you & if he meets someone else then he wasn’t the one for you x

I never bother with the ones who just put full stops or one word answers. Either they can’t be arsed to make a proper profile or they’ve got the personality equivalent of a wet dressing gown sleeve, neither of which makes them particularly appealing to me. There’s no point even engaging.

Similarly, the ones who bemoan online dating as though it’s somehow beneath them. Yet here you still are Stuart. Pray, tell me more about your life affirming experiences hosing down elephants in Thailand. I’ve got nothing but time. 🥱

And more recently "get off the apps, meet men like we used to, work, hobbies, in the supermarket!" I also loathe the thing of "You need to love yourself before anyone else can love you. To attract the "right" kind of man, you have to do all this work on yourself" ...
