The next time a guy starts talking about adding me on Snapchat I’m sending him this reply 😌

Just something I was thinking about while reading this thread.

I always have found that no matter what your ex did, men never like it when you open up about the experiences you’ve had.

Dating is often like a job interview…. Even if you were bullied out and punched in the face by an old boss, you’ve just got to make out that it 'didn’t work out' and stay civil. Otherwise you might be a 'troublemaker'. Once you’re in a relationship/serious, sure, tell them. But not when it’s casual, light-hearted. Even if they pry I don't tell anymore. I know some guys are 'nice and understanding' but tbh 90% are going to run for the hills if they think you're damaged goods - that's how they see it anyway.

Men don't need to know everything early on. Even if they want to.

Hi everyone ❤ So lovely to see I’ve been missed! 🤣 so yeah I decided at the start of the year and after a few false starts with dating I decided to put men on the back burner totally. I don’t know if anyone has read ‘Everything I Know About Love’ by Dolly Alderton, but it’s a brilliant insight into dating, friendships, love in all its forms, men etc. in it she describes a period where she totally wrote off men and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. No apps, not been on fb since feb, not been going out much, just totally focusing on working on myself and the mistakes I’ve made with men up till now. (I was 53 on Tuesday!) I’m currently considering a totally new career, and I’m also moving out of the area I’ve lived in for 16 years! So I have a LOT going on. Although my life is mega stressful at the moment (house & job hunting) im actually feeling really calm about things, and right now I can’t imagine ever being intimate with a man ever again! Both emotionally and physically. I love seeing the dating stories on here and I will chat more I promise ❤

I miss @TillyMiffin 😢 and @Clickbait

Betty left under a bit of a cloud unfortunately and @Bunnylewenski (sp!) still pops on and off to say hello
Hi All, I’m still about and popping in occasionally. Think there is a great supportive bunch of posters giving some good advice to one another. There has also been a lot of growth from people who’ve been members for a long time that is heartening to see - it’s almost like the collective drives people up to expect more from their interactions with men, not to put up with shitty behaviour, and to be kind to themselves.

That was always my message along with don’t force it, take a break when it stops being fun, so I haven’t felt the need to post!

There are still some occasions where I see people not taking their own advice but who doesn’t do that from time to time if we really like someone or want to make it work? I’m all for second chances if you think the person deserves another shot, and if you think you’ll be left thinking ‘what if?’ but don’t let it become a pattern because once you set a precedent for backing down they’ll clock it and may take advantage.

I really am rooting for everyone to find their special someone in whatever form they want that to take ❤

It can all go tits up once it gets to the meeting up stage so just enjoy the ride 😉

Soo...chatting to this one on Tinder, he's saying he's on a mission in Turkey 🤣 but his profile says he's 32 miles from me ! I'm thinking he may be lying 🤥
I dated a marine for over two years and military personnel will NEVER disclose information like that, especially not to people they don't know that well. By claiming he's in intelligence he's putting a big target on his back. People who are actually in intelligence will never tell you they are in intelligence.
Special mission my arse, you've got yourself a little Pinocchio. 🤭

They think it’s like a catalogue and they just have to put in an order for what they want. It’s so grim.

Hi everyone 😂 I had taken a break from dating for a long time. Unfortunately I have since got back with the narc that that messed me up when I initially started commenting on these posts.
It is slightly different this time ( I know, I'd be rolling my eyes at this too) and I dont see him that often which is my choice. I've also rejoined Bumble again but haven't much interest in it.
I'm still as complicated as ever but thankfully no breakdowns since last November 😂😂

Okay update he has text me back:
“So I've had some time to process all that. It's just a bit too much for me at the moment . I have enough going on and I'm looking for something more relaxed at the moment so I'm just gonna leave this”
G’luck to him🤣🤣 not sure why my alcoholic Ex is such an annoyance to him tbh but better off 😂 I didn’t even read the message, just blocked😅

I actually hate men.. why are they like this?

They seem to think having a dog in their bio or in photos guarantees them some interest. I know it would put me off as I’m not a dog person, especially when they put some forced witty comment along side it.

Same goes for using photos of their baby niece or nephew.
I HATE the niece/nephew pics with a passion. Also pictures men post of their own kids. Ridiculously irresponsible above all else.
If I posted pictures of my kids I would get ripped apart and quite rightly too, it's such a safeguarding risk and it's incredibly unlikely that the parents have consented.

Thank you both. That is the kind of advice I needed, I am a kind person and I don’t want to hurt his poor wife which is why this far I’ve told him there’s no chance! I just wanted to talk it out so thank you!
I'm just gonna be blunt ..he's love bombing you and he's grooming you for sex. He's married and has nothing to offer you apart from grubby sex as and when he can sneak away from his wife. Its not difficult to block someone off your phone so take advice from someone who has been the other woman and just do it. You will save yourself a lot of heartbreak and your conscience will thank you. Welcome to the thread btw 🥰

So he said it seems like we need to meet so we gonna meet on 22nd gives us some time to chat and get to know each other
This is the most hilarious and inspiring story!
You essentially used a modern day version of the “have we met before” pick up line! If this doesn’t result in the greatest love of your life then there is no justice in the world.

I’m now off to FB to track down random hot men I can pretend to know.

I once found a profile of my ex husband on tinder, not long after we separated. Ok fair enough, I’m here too, no big deal. But then I realised that one of his pictures was a professional photo taken on our wedding day. There he is suited and booted gazing lovingly and longingly into the middle distance (where I would be were I not cropped out). Oh how I laughed!

i don’t mind the animal pics, the kids pics are a bit inappropriate but what really annoys me is when they’re nearly all group pics and it’s the final photo before their actual identity is revealed and they are without fail always the least attractive of the bunch. So not only are they going to be less attractive in direct comparison to their hot friends, but they’re also failing to manage expectations. Why do it to themselves?!

I would love to know if women state what height they want a man cause I always see stuff like that and think where has that come from 😂
I think a lot of women don't go for shorter guys so I can see why they pass aggressive put it in their bio

I had "5ft7 because apparently that's important 🙄" in my bio for a while as a piss take to the men who put it. And I wonder why I'm single 😂

No. Not for the apps or serious dating I’d say. But definitely to go out out and maybe flirt a bit and meet someone fun for something superficial. Definitely avoid the dating apps for a while because they can break your spirits at the best of times!
Thank you!

I met my ex through Tinder and he’s already back on it, with pics from our holiday with me cut out. Ouch. Horrible person.

I’m feeling very blue.

I was speaking with a guy and all it seemed ok, he added me on instagram and we chatted a lot on there, he ALWAYS reacted to my photos and stories. We had a date arranged for tonight.

the other day he messaged me to say he had seen me out and about in my car and ever since he’s just gone really quiet and now he’s cancelled our date.

He clearly saw me in person and went off me 😞😞 I’m feeling completely rubbish about myself now!

Hope you are all doing ok x
