I’ve noticed his bodyguards are out in force on a lot of these comments quick to defend his hasty decision, it seems to me they simply don’t like the harsh reality of the truth. The fact that he’s based this life changing decision on a three week holiday and thinks he can somehow make a full time career on YouTube on just 31 thousands subs is ludicrous! Aye he’ll be back in six month’s time once some lady boy has well and truly rinsed him for every last penny and we can look forward to the inevitable “why I returned to London/Thailand wasn’t all that” video. A lot of the comments are simply expressing concern over this very hasty decision and yet I’ve noticed Darren is really very rude in his responses. A lot are asking how he’ll afford the lifestyle, does he have health insurance and how he will do his visa, all reasonable and genuine questions and yet he gives rude answers because he only likes opinions which validate him and his actions. Someone even commented that the whole reason why he’s moving is because he can’t get a job in London anymore even though there’s plenty of opportunities because he’s ruffled feathers. Tells us all we need to know really! I do wish him well and I hope he doesn’t come to any harm out there but he needs to be realistic, Thailand doesn’t strike me as a particularly safe country either.

£18k’s not a large amount in the great scheme of things, few quid from his motorbikes (HP aside one was a specialist racing bike I believe?) and the rest as cash advances from credit cards and small loans applied for based on his income when he had a proper job

Oh Darren what a pickle you're in! It sounds to me like you're trying to convince yourself that Thailand is a good idea. Saying things like 'I'll try it for a few months...'. You certainly don't sound as confident as you did at the outset but you were still on a holiday high, you're allowed to change your mind although you won't. I happened to be watching his latest video last night and my husband who barely watches his vlogs commented on how of the few snippets of videos he’s seen Darren comes across as a very negative and depressed person. He also asked why I even bother watching him when all he does is moan constantly but then I showed him the comments on his videos (which are golden by the way!) and now he gets it! Someone told him to hurry up and leave, another said he’s talking as if he’s going to the gallows and one said he’s so cringe emotionally. Of course you have all the a** kissers praising him for his brave and courageous move but the few negative comments are the ones that stand out and also happen to have the most likes! Honestly I can’t see this whole Thailand thing lasting, he’ll be back within 6 months but he’ll have to start thinking of a good reason as to why he’s returned! Honestly I just see the whole thing as one huge waste of money but my husband seems to think it’s all planned just for views but that he knows he’ll be back, he’s just doing it as a desperate attempt to get more subs. It would explain why the bikes haven’t sold.
Daz is trying to convince us Victoria is a hot spot. It's a terminus, most avoid. Full of crappy new build office space. Yet another burger. His guts must be waving a white flag, after all the stodge he has stuffed, during his long drawn out farewell.
Since watching Darren John out of morbid curiosity over the last few years, it seems he piled most of the weight on when he teamed up with the Macmaster.

This whole leaving for Thailand things seems like one of those last gasp attempts to get the one he pined for (Lee) to see some sense and come back to him
In all seriousness though I bet he has to live with the fall out every day and struggles to sleep at night. All he had to do is play ball, wear a few wigs, tolerate Lee for another 6-12 months and he could have been sat on 60-80k subscribers instead of 30k. He would have been that one step (due to the exposure) of becoming another dosser earning a very decent salary despite putting out bang average videos which the thick and often elderly cannot get enough of.

I did wonder if all this was something to do with The Macmaster, this happened years ago (possibly 2?) and it’s still talked about a lot. If you read quite a few of the comments on his videos you’ll see Macmaster gets mentioned quite a lot and people love to take the p*** saying “make sure you keep a room spare for macmaster when he visits you” and the likes. I thought the same thing in that he left him when he was on a downwards spiral with no explanation really as to why other than he saw him for what he is which is basically he was just using him to gain extra subs and Macmaster finally cottoned on to it. When I asked Macmaster why they’d fallen out he just said something a long the lines of he’d seen his true colours and he’s an awful person, horrible to women etc. I’ve heard this mentioned a few times by people about Darren John, that’s he’s not this nice and wise gentle old man that he likes to come across as but in real life is the opposite. And if it’s true that he’s awful to women then he deserves all he gets. I watch his videos in bewilderment, I find them oddly entertaining. At first I enjoyed his walks around London, it’s a place I’m fairly familiar with and I liked seeing which places he recommended to visit but over the years he’s gone more and more downhill and depressed and now I watch it with a sense of wonder at how someone can reach the grand age of 55 yet appear to look 65 and also still hasn’t found his path in life and continues to wonder around like a lost puppy trying to find his calling. I find it all entertaining in a weird and morbid way. but you can tell he’s pining for The Macmaster, he would love nothing more than for him to reach out and become friends again. I believe something must have happened on his last visit and it all came to blows, Macmaster used to stay in his London apartment with him and even had his own spare room with a desk in for him to edit his videos whenever he stayed, they used to do lives together from said apartment. One of the last videos I recall watching of them together was The Macmaster taking the absolute p*** out of the owner of London’s worst rated restaurant and forcing Darren to wear a wig and pretend to be a tourist just to gain entry into the restaurant so they wouldn’t be kicked out and Darren was really uncomfortable doing it, you could really sense it in the video. That’s the point where I think they fell out because the video was the complete opposite to Darren’s usual style.
