So looks like his little quirks like throwing the food into the pan and the way he edits his videos trying to be cool is copying someone as well. Seems like Joe Wicks the body coach does this. Oh dear Simon.
It’s interesting you say that, because I also realised a bit ago that he looked like he was trying mirror Joe Wicks too. I think he initially tried to be a sort of anti-Joe Wicks, with his whole ‘Dad the Dish says no to healthy food’ he tried for a minute, but then he switched it and threw in the ‘home gym’. His long winded, word salad posts about positive mental attitudes and so on, also follow this Wicks mould. Except his are repetitive, self praising, and often dont make sense. I imagine he’s seen Joe Wicks build this career from basically starting on social media, and thinks I can do that too, except he wants to miss the steps like taking his time, building it up consistently and organically, like Joe did, having original ideas, content, and recipes. He’s jumped straight from ‘oh I learned to cook during lockdown’ to ‘I need a whole studio, tv show and cookbook’. He starts things then seems to think that’s just another tick done, YouTube channel, just a handful of videos, his website that he charged people for, that’s inactive, there’s no consistency and follow through for anything. He doesn’t want to work, he just wants to be famous.
Anyone see his recent ‘vegan bolognaise’ on tik tok? ‘Loads of you recommended this vegan mince’, who Simon? Where did you ever ask about vegan mince? Didn’t happen, just say you’re being paid to promote it. He cooked the bolognaise, then at the end looked absolutely amazed that it tasted ok. That wasn’t the reaction of anyone who’d made it before, with his own recipe, generally people aren’t so stunned about tested recipes
