By "you can't do right for doing wrong" you mean racist. She was racist
Oh she was absolutely racist.
my neighbour was just a bog standard nut job who screamed at everyone and would regularly call the police out over the most ridiculous stuff.

I watched this earlier and can't stop thinking about it. Those poor kids. They had that community where their families knew each other, they all played with each other and grew up together and then just like that it ended. That happy life they all had and that poor family lost their mother. Over one stupid, nasty, vicious, racist woman. Surely she would have gone to see the place before she moved there? Why did she choose to stay so long. Another person with perhaps a child could have moved in there and been happy.
The fact she didn't care whatsoever and was more concerned about being cold or whatever during her interviews or being nonchalant or bringing it back to herself just made me so angry.
I saw on the other crime threads, someone posted an article that her sister (the one helping her move with the little boy) was done for child neglect as well. What wonderful woman they are!!

Agree with everything you’ve said. It’s been a few days and it’s still playing on my mind. The family’s go fund me has blown up and they’d raised almost half a million dollars last I checked which is incredible. It won’t bring AJ back of course but think it’s amazing how people have got behind the family.

I didn't know they had one. Can we still donate? I will make a donation if so. Those poor kids, I just felt beyond awful for them. What a horrible end to a wonderful childhood they were having up until then.

So pleased to stumble upon this thread! I love a bit of true crime. My guilty pleasure is watching legal commentators on YouTube covering live trials and legal filings in America. I find it interesting watching documentaries after I’ve already watched the trial because the production team/editors often leave bits of info out.

My favourite true crime tv shows:
The Jinx
The Staircase
The Keepers
Evil Genius
Making a Murderer
Don’t F**k with Cats
Night Stalker
I’ll be Gone in the Dark

I’m sure there’s loads more that will pop into my head but these are the ones I recommend to people
The Jinx is a fascinating documentary. One of the best I've watched.
Evil Genius is an interesting watch too.

Recently I've watched
The Body Next Door on Sky about a murder in a Welsh village that turns out to be full of twists and shocking revelations.
The Austin Yoghurt Shop Murders on Sky which is about a horrific 30+year old cold crime. 2 weeks after I watched it a serial killer was revealed as suspect after being linked by DNA.
The latest Long Island Serial Killer documentary on Netflix. Shows his arrest and the phone evidence.
The Essex Murders Who Killed Mr Goldfinger? on Sky. I knew very little about Brinks Mat other than it was gold bullion and happened near Heathrow. The only name I knew in conjunction with it was Kenneth Noye and that was only because he murdered that poor lad in a road rage incident. Had never heard of John Palmer but he made the Times rich list and was as rich or richer than the Queen. They said in the doc that every piece of gold jewellery manufactured in the UK since 1983 has a little bit of Brinks Mat in it.
24 Hours in Police Custody on channel 4 about the Nicholas Prosper arrest. Very unsettling watch.

If you’d like to learn more about John Palmer I highly recommend the 2-series BBC production, Gold, its a drama rather than documentary but SO well made and incredibly absorbing.

There's a programme on ITV X called Tiktok Murder Gone Viral.

I watched the Charlie Cosser one last night. It was so upsetting

There's a programme on BBC (and iPlayer) called Behind bars: sex, bribes and murder. It's a two parter about relationships in prison. I don't know if we discussed this one but it includes the Lenny Scott case where he got murdered after grassing up a prison officer and their relationship with a prisoner

I started to watch this yesterday and didn't think much to it and gave up half way through. Mobeen Azhar, who presented it, is supposed to be an award winning investigative journalist but he got on my nerves with his stilted questioning and umming and arrhing all the time. He seemed to me to be frightened of the males he was talking to but was ok with the women. Not going to bother with the second one.
