[What's your point]

Decided I hate knitting I have made a mistake twice now on the colourwork jumper, had to rip back rows and rows of knitting a couple of days back and just realised tonight I've made another mistake ffs....

I'm not confident enough to try and correct my mistakes either so gonna have to rip back rows AGAIN.

It's not even difficult stitches I'm doing, I'm obviously just not concentrating.

I finished my giant square. Now starting my January project.... make a scrap blanket. Just doing some tests to see what stitch I want to use.

I have so much on at moment, it is nice just to relax and craft for a bit.

It's my first time making something with a steek so that's exciting. I wish I could knit a lot faster, this will be ready in 2027 at this rate. I want to be wearing it now

Honestly, it's only two colours per row, I can't be fiddling about with more than that at once without getting in a terrible tangle. It's all the same knit stitch throughout as it's in a circle too. I can't get my head around cables either as well as crochet.

I understand knitting because it's from one needle to the other, but crochet is some sort of witchcraftery wiggling a hook in the air at some yarn and counting - I don't get it at all

I love the pattern!
I find crochet easier and quicker than knitting but I enjoy both

Each piece is made separately then joined, I've got this far, I find crochet easy but can't knit

Love this!!! Please update with how the steeking goes! I am yet to try it.

I have finally finished the colourwork yoke on my abeline sweater and carrying on with the body, I added a few extra stitches when casting on for the underarm bit as the pattern looks a bit of a snug fit and I want a more loose fitting one.

I also think I won't decrease the sleeves like it says in the pattern as I want them loose too.

This is lovely! You must have plenty of patience the seeing together of all the pieces would drive me mad .

I enjoy crochet but don't understand it like I do knitting, I constantly have to check I am doing the crochet stitches right so it takes me ages! Knitting however I find so much easier.

Has anyone else been busy crafting over Christmas or received any crafty presents?

I got myself some new interchangeable needles as finding my knit pro zing are not pointy enough, I ordered some knit pro cubic jadore wooden needles but the 4mm one snapped within 5 minutes of using so they have gone back, I then tried the knit pro karbon but again not pointy enough! So in the end I have gone with chiagoo 5inch interchangeable needles and they are sooo much better than the knit pro, shame really as I wanted to stick with knitpro as I have lots of their cables etc... but I am finding I knit much quicker with the chiagoo and I am enjoying knitting more.

Glad you are giving knitting a go, are you using straight needles or circular? I can't use straight ones I find them so uncomfortable and never managed to knit anything on them, then I discovered circulars and find it sooo much easier.

My mum stares at me like I've landed from the moon when she sees me knitting, she gave me all my nans knitting needles from the 70s and o was like thanks I love them but I can't use them

I'm using straight needles for the scarf but I have a set of interchangeable circular needles and I plan to use them for my next project. I havent used circulars much so I am interested to see how i get on with them.

The pattern is free on her blog if you subscribe, i couldn't bring myself to buy expensive yarn for this so i opted for King Cole pricewise and got the nearest shades.

That's great that she is able to carry on knitting and enjoy it.

I've set myself a challenge to use all my yarn stash in 2025 or give away anything I know I will never knit with (chenille yarn..hate it).

I have lots of odd balls of various different yarns so I think will be mostly making cowls or hats as not enough of any of the balls to make a big project.

The simple stitches with crochet don't seem too hard, but I'm still getting myself in a horrible muddle when trying to work into the chain. I'll keep having a go at it in the hope it will eventually click
