Finally the bunting is out at Begotten Towers as I have finally finished the bloody scrapgan that was meant to just be a cushion and ended up being a blanket because the person it was for really REALLY liked it.
Never EVER again. I actually hate it.

How are all doing with crafting in the heat? I have managed to get a few sessions of crochet in, but it has been to hot and I don't want to touch my yarn with sweaty hands.

I’ve only done some cross stitch and sock knitting. It’s not overly hot where I am though, not enough to get sweaty hands

I have finally finished all 120 of my granny squares but I am losing the will to live having to sew them all together. I have around 20 sewn together but my back is broken from it so I am taking a break

The friend who taught me how to crochet just told me she is pregnant so i am starting a blanket for her. I have decided to do the Attic24 neat ripple in a rainbow of colours as her only ask is that it is bold and colourful. Her 1st pregnancy I told her to pick the pattern and we chose the colours together but this time she is giving me free rein. She told me she doesnt expect another one but I know how much she treasures them so it is a pleasure to make one for her.

Attic 24 has some lovely blankets and I find their patterns simple and easy to follow. Your friend is going to get a beautiful blanket.

I know what you mean about granny squares. I refuse to make them because I don't think I could cope with having to sew them all together. I have also seen a lot of blankets that have been poorly joined up, the squares look lovely, but they have been joined together in a really unflattering clunky way. I am scared mine would look like that. Anyone who can sew them together neatly has some sort of superpower imo.

havent progressed stil but been doing a few of my mega chains on and off because i have some stuff going on in my life and it takes my mind off

Oh I feel your pain. But join as you go is a literal life saver.

I’ve used that neat ripple pattern and it’s lovely.

Oh my goodness, how how I not found this thread before now! I'm a crafter, currently crocheting but also create other textile based work including cosplays, embroidery ect (I have studied stitched textiles). Right now I'm literally dying with the heat, in my spare room/craft room, trying to put together several hexagon cardigans for etsy (I make pop cultured themed stuff). I'm gonna go back and read the entire thread to see what lovely things you guys have been making

I've been making hats (fascinators) using recycled items, feathers from local pheasants too
Found many decorative bits and pieces and fabric from charity shops.
