That's really cute, I got myself cross stitch kits but I've never done it before so didn't realise that unlike embroidery the pictures aren't on the material 😅
Oh sometimes the pictures already on the material printed/stamped cross stitch they call it. I do counted cross stitch so start with blank material & see the picture appear as I go :D

So glad I stumbled on this thread, I mainly knit and sporadically sew, and took up a crochet for beginners night class this year.
Just wanted to share my last major project, a 1890 victorian walking suit.
Made this for a Charles Dickens Christmas feast in London, took me weeks, every evening spent sewing.
Flight to London cancelled, that bad weather weekend in Dec when most flights were stopped, so never worn....
Still upset about it, b Ryanair.

So glad there’s a crafting thread- I’m a bit of a craft slut, but my favourites are crochet and punch needle embroidery. My little people generally get to be the not so lucky recipients! I’m learning to knit at the moment, my gran taught me when I was small but a rectangle is about all I can manage 😂

My main craft is cross stitch though I have a habit of rarely finishing pics for myself, as I always get distracted doing them for gifts( including this Lion King).
My New Years resolution though is to finish my started ones & not start any new ones.
I'm also getting into Diamond Painting i've done 4 since Christmas.

I'm in the middle of moving house and found loads of Cross stitches under my bed that I've done over the years. I don't really know what to do with them, I won't display them but can't bring myself to throw them away.

Help! Can anybody give me any inspiration?

Years ago, I made lots of small cardboard giftbags. They're about the size of a party favour giftbag and would fit in a small item the size of something like a tealight, small piece of jewellery, sample cosmetic pot, etc. The ideas was to embellish the bags, so each one was unique, and I was going to pop in little hand creams, eye creams, etc (decanted into my own pots from a wholesaler).

However, it's something I just never got around to, but I have all these cute little bags and really want to do something with them. Not sure I want to go down the route of my original idea as it's just quite a faff with all the labelling and obviously if I don't sell them, they will go past their sell-by-date. I could just leave them as giftbags, but it seems a bit of a waste.

I also used to make cards and want to try and start it back up again. My theme was always vintage/showgirl/burlesque - I'm trying to think of matching the cards and bags up but just can't think of anything good I can utilise them for.

Any ideas?

Does anyone make soap? If so, what do you use to keep them good if you sell them, am planning on making some batches but I don't know how long it will take for them to sell an I don't want them going bad

That is amazing. I'm dabbling a bit with sewing/dressmaking at the moment but I'm still getting my head around using a machine.

My main craft is crochet, but I also weave (using a loom I made myself), do needlepoint on plastic canvas and play about with loom knitting. I think I'll always prefer crochet to knitting, because when you drop a stitch in crochet, you just put another one in somewhere else and it's usually fine.

The 3 flower set
The 6 flower set
The mini Mickey an Minnie set which is the two faces, little hands, letters, shorts an the names

They are rose scented wax melts an am honestly lost on what pricing should be, what would be a price you want to buy at?

I pay £4.99 for a set of 6 wax melts from my favourite company. They look around the same size as your bigger Minnie and Mickey melts, and I find that I have to use two at a time, but I can relight them 4 times before the scent dissipates enough that I have to change them out. Usually only have them on for a couple of hours at a time, so I think if overall your melt wax (x2) last around 8 hours overall, then that would be a fair price.

Your diamond painting must've taken you hours to do! It looks so festive. Do you frame them once finished?
The stained glass pieces are lovely. I'd love to try making a stained glass piece.
The ones i've done so far minus that pic are in a folder. That 1 atm is lying on a shelf til I find a frame big enough.

You should have a go, Dad did a Day course & got the bug he did everything from making Tiffany Lamps to little Hearts/Stars
