Can I ask why people are stock piling loo roll? Is it a fear of it running out in stores? Because we all know this virus doesn’t make you shit loads. I don’t quite understand the obsession with having lots of loo roll 😂

Everyone’s realises we’re not entering an apocalypse right?😂😬. I’m just sat at home with limited food in my cupboards and 2 rolls of toilet roll left counting down the days until my long haul holiday praying it doesn’t get bloody cancelled!!!
Aw I hope you get to have your holiday! Where you going?

We had a delivery of pasta and rice today, and despite me putting signs up everywhere stating 2 per customer, people were STILL so arrogant to think the rules didn't apply to them  One bloke had about 20 microwave rices in his trolley, for goodness sake. The good thing is, the till won't let more than two be scanned. The amount of pasta, rice, bleach, canned veg that was taken off people at the till is unreal. And then they have the nerve to abuse the checkout operators for it.

I feel so sorry for everyone working in a supermarket just now, everyday must feel like a nightmare.

Was in Waitrose earlier man at the self serve had 12 lots of 4 pack baked beans. I’m a bit surprised staff let him purchase that many!!! Ridiculous who the heck needs nearly 50 cans of baked beans.

It’s getting utterly ridiculous that basic things like loo roll and paracetamol are completely selling out. What the actual hell are people playing at! Buy one extra of everything if you like not 4 or 5. Honestly we need to think about everyone here. I would imagine a lot of people stocking up are not in the vulnerable categories either..
Totally! Some people, like those of us with a bowel condition, really need plenty of loo roll on hand. These people stockpiling stuff are making problems for other people. They don't even need it, coronavirus does not cause torrential diarrhoea!! I wish people would calm down and just buy what they actually need, as they would in normal circumstances - stop creating problems for other people.

Just cancelled my daughters wedding, her hen do, honeymoon and two holidays. Trying to mentally prepare myself for 16 weeks of isolation. The hardest thing is no hugs from my daughters!

Anyone else not really stocked up on anything? 😂 Now I’m stressing, you are all prepared for crazy stuff to happen. I’m in Scotland and today there were signs outside shops saying ‘Sorry, we don’t have any antibacterial hand gel/sanitiser left’. I already had several bottles at home so I’m covered for that. Maybe I should start? 😂

I am a self confessed germophobe and have always carried hand sanitiser anyway, but obviously cannot get any at the moment, hopefully I don't run out before more is stocked! I also have always bought toilet rolls in bulk (not to stockpile, but find it cheaper with a large family and then never get caught short). Today I have just bought 1 or 2 extra tins and some paracetamol, just in case.
What I don't understand is the lack of liquid hand soap on the shelves ... what were these people doing before this virus ..were they not washing their hands??? On a positive note, hopefully this may mean people now think about being more hygienic, when it first started I couldn't believe our government were having to tell people to wash their hands, I thought everyone washed their hands! Well I hoped!

I’ve always been a food/supplies hoarder. I don’t worry about any impending doom but when I had my kitchen extended and cupboards fitted I got about double the amount of cupboards I needed so that I could hoard. I always have at least 20 500g bags of pasta and a few 5kg bags of rice, 30 or 40 tins of beans, 30 tins of soup (bizarre because I do a large pot of fresh soup every week) and tomatoes as well as bags of pulses, tinned kidney beans and chickpeas. In the fridge there are several blocks of cheese and 6 blocks of butter. There would also be in excess of 100, probably nearer 200 tins of fizzy pop. 10 boxes of cereal and six or seven multipacks of crisps.

Soap, toilet roll, washing powder, toiletries....always a few months supply. When I buy deodorant etc I buy 6 at a time.

I don’t panic buy because I always have far too much in anyway.

We do use up the stuff. Last year I tried to let it run down and only did asda about 3 times and Costco once. I’ve also done food bank runs when I’ve gone overboard.

As a child we weren’t poor but my mother kept the cupboards pretty bare and we regularly ran out of basics such as toilet roll or shampoo and it made me worry...so it’s not difficult to see why I do it.

I only have a single small hand sanitiser though. I don’t use it because I regularly wash my hands with soap and hot water. I only have the one I have because they were handed out at work.

It is 0really making me question society at the moment. Seeing people stock pile and having an "I'm alright jack" attitude, and putting vulnerable groups even more at risk of not being able to purchase essentials. Social media has played a massive role in the whole hysteria going about at the moment. Going back to other 'crisis' swine flu, mad cow etc social media wasn't as widely used. Really do think government needs to release some clear/precise advice/updates before things escalate quickly
I hope food banks aren't affected with people panic buying and not donating/empty shelflves so nothing to donate

I went to home bargains this morning before 9am. Mainly for Easter crafts because I can’t see us getting out. As I was walking down the aisle with toilet roll, a member of staff shouted “there’s no limit, take as many as you need” to a man. I thought you absolute wanker. I’ve seen to many old people out and about really early or late because of people like that. Heartbreaking!

Oh, this is the kinda stuff I’m wondering about,
I mean who doesn’t have 83 toilet rolls in the toilet roll wardrobe (I’m fine stop shouting at me!!!🤣🤣)

but I know a woman have kept her kid out of montessori this week (mainly because there is chicken pox going around to be fair) when your paying for the week in montessori, yet keeping you kid at home, that’s an expensive decision!
And how long can you make that choice.
i also don’t think there are as many soft play parties lately, and I don’t think I’d bring a kid if there was 😂
Christ if you are gonna catch it, it’s gonna be at soft play 🤢 disgusting places.

I have been ill the last week and I must have gotten through at least an entire loo roll each day just from sneezing and blowing my nose.

I think stocking up on loo roll is essential if you’re potentially being locked down I don’t get why people are shocked at this.
Would you not just use regular tissues, surely they are kinder to your nose?!

I'm on the verge of getting a chest freezer, I don't really bhave room for it but I really want one for veggies and fruit 😐

Didn't take a flybe flight last weekend just incase I got stuck, which wasn't a bad move seeing as they collapsed shortly after I was due to fly back.

Don't tell anyone but I've quietly thought it might help me lose those last few kgs, but no more 😬

Cancelling my pottery classes because I don't fancy handling clay and putting my hands in glazes that have been thoroughly touched by god knows how many other hands lol
Seriously, my postman handed me a pen and I considered chopping off my hand 😬

I'm having a nightmare, my freezer is so stuffed it wasn't closed properly last night, and is a cheap one without an alert thing 😬 it's all covered in condensation and things are squishy

All that yummy food for the lockdown is a bit defrosted. I'm going to eat the bits by the door then top it all up and try to pretend all my burritos are fine to eat and try my best to enjoy it 😂

I'm supposed to be going to a wedding in Italy in May, the bride and groom are just in talks with the venue and wedding planners to see what will happen if they cancel.

I've been waiting for the decorator to come and sort out my lounge for me for a while now. He's in Italy and due back this weekend, I don't want him to come now😂😂😂
