I honestly think she believes she would never be sent to a real prison. She's probably expecting a sentence like, "oh daaahhling, what an ordeal. You need some R&R asap. I sentence you to two months at a fabulous spa in Antigua."
mark knows what prisons like, I don't think she has a clue. Would she be in isolation?

i dont have children myself however my understanding about newborns is that they go through a lot of nappies every day in the early weeks, a lot more than an older baby/toddler? Am i correct in this? If so, where was the bumper pack of newborn nappies they would need or if she was doing it the old fashioned way with a washable cloth nappy........that was never washed as they couldnt wash it.. my mum used these for my younger siblings way back when money was tight however i always remember a constant line of them on the washing line and full washing baskets. Either way along with warmth and food, Victoria also needed to be clean. I cannot see how she was kept to the minimum standard of cleanliness at any stage after she was born be it carted around in taxis, and under CMs stinking coat with a handful of nappies. There was no mention of them being seen on CCTV say trying to access facilities to wash themselves i.e. a leisure centre or shopping centre which have baby changing areas they could have used.

Newborns need about a dozen nappies a day!

Having worked in child protection for many years and supervised contact numerous times I can tell you categorically that Toots - despite her lofty sense of importance - is no better than the scummiest worst parents and human beings that I have ever witnessed.
It’s a script- just like the cheaters script. These people follow a script that absolves them of blame and puts the responsibilities on others. Nothing she is doing or saying is different from almost every bad parent I have had the misfortune to deal with.
Toots is not clever or original or any different, except for her accent. It’ll be very interesting to see if this impacts the outcome.

She held her dead baby for days or hours but couldn’t be bothered to change a nappy. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.

I honestly don’t think she knew what to do. That baby lived and died covered in her own waste.

I agree. They may be cold, wet and sitting in soiled clothes but Toots "loves" them and that is all that matters in her mind.

The siting upright with the baby stuffed under her coat is the negligent part.
The baby could have died whether she fell asleep or not.
The intentionality is in regard to manslaughter or murder, and she’s not being charged with murder.

Do you think it matters if it was on purpose or not? (Not being a fool, I’m genuinely interested). As I think that even if falling asleep was an accident, that it wouldn’t have happened if they were living in different conditions. She wouldn’t have been cramped in a tent, and the baby wouldn’t have been inside her coat. So I still think that it would be considered grossly negligent. But that’s just my opinion. I’m not sure if legally it does make a difference if that makes sense?

Ah the part about little Victoria having and being left in a dirty nappy and neither of her parents changing her to give her a little dignity after she passed has really broke me

If he can get her to admit that she did it deliberately, then all the better from the prosecutions point of view.
Her arrogance has led her straight into the wide open trap set there. Jesus. What an idiot.
Edit: I still don’t think it has to be deliberate as negligence can be an act of omission, not just commission.
She failed to keep the baby safe by having her in the jacket. She can claim accident all she likes.

I’m so sorry I posted this bombshell and disappeared in The trial podcast her testimony (voiced by actors) is that the family member who abused her applied for a wardship over her. We clarified a few threads ago that it was her dad who applied for her wardship

She also doesn’t seem to grasp the risk of living outdoors in a tent - according to her her baby was warm , she explained the use of a sleeping bag as a dome to keep her warm and agreed that it was too cold outside of the dome for Victoria, so instead of risking hypothermia she risked and engaged in unsafe co sleeping practices that led to her death, bd it through asphyxiation by falling over on her or by suffocating her under the coat.

Back to the bag for life .. I just don’t understand her reasoning it was too difficult to change her nappy so left her in her own faeces

Going back to the CCTV of Victoria being put into the buggy, CM seems to haul her in like a sack of tatties but MG seems to put his hand into support her head like he knew she was roughly handling her. Considering she claimed she knew how to look after a baby, she doesn’t seem like she does in the video.
