DV is why the care order was made
“An incident” so just one was enough. Must be the window thing which tied up with what CM said. They took her children because she ‘fell’ out of a window. Maybe she doesn’t even recognise it was DV herself

On Tuesday, a series of agreed facts were read in court detailing Marten’s history with social services and advice she was given about another baby, referred to as Child FF.

There’s the reason for the recent delays - that list of agreed facts would have taken an awful amount of legal argument to finalise

Why would you sleep in a tent when you had a camper van? Even if it wasn’t working.
Apart from the other disadvantages of the tent, it’s not secure.
Could it be impounded due to unroadworthyness or outstanding fines.
Do we know that the campervan even existed? I'm wondering whether she told authorities they were living in a campervan instead of a tent as this would be deemed more appropriate?

I think I read somewhere, that there was loads of parking tickets for the camper van.

I think MG was reported to have been working as a labourer and living in a small house/flat in ilford around the time they met and she moved in with him. If thats true he went from having a job and a roof over his head to living in a tent and unemployed after he met CM. Its a strange one! Of course they were bumming around on her trust fund payments but it could be viewed that he had served his time, was living a relatively normal life working etc and was doing his best to keep his head down and she turned all that on its head! Just another view of it on the little info we have on MG unless his KC has something along those lines to try blame it all on her.

Some of Mark Gordon’s police interviews and their belief that SS have authority if you stay somewhere for more than 3 days makes me think that they believe in the freeman of the land type stuff.
Yes, but I wonder what’s fuelling that?
Plenty of Freemen types live in communes, or are individual hermits.
Also plenty of them believe drugs should be legal.

Yes I agree.

Although, nothing says who was the victim of the DV… it’s easy to assume it was him on her, but could be the other way.

Oh those poor kids. Imagine you're 4, you're living away from your parents (who are shit, but you're only 4 so don't understand that and love them and are attached to them and miss them) you're taken to a contact centre, maybe by some random social worker you've never met, but hopefully by your foster carer, and your parents don't even turn up to see you. And you have to wait another week which is a lifetime for you. You have to go to school, and learn and socialise, and mask all your emotions. You probably have to be brave for your siblings. Counting down the days until you see them again.
Poor little kids.

All 4 kids removed in January 2022 then she's pregnant again with Victoria within months of this. They just didn't care and had no interest in listening to any advice.

The description of the children being upset is heartbreaking and mirrors cases I know. Claim to love their children but can't be bothered to show up to see them.

They were warned repeatedly that their lifestyle could lead to the death of their child, and now that it has, they want to blame the death on the people that tried to stop them. I am speechless.

I’m sure there was mention of a large amount of fines for a camper van,

Is the window incident the only connection being made to the domestic abuse; has it been confirmed it was male to female DA?

So the devoted parents left their baby in hospital in order to attend this family court hearing...and then Mummy Bear refused to have a covid test when she came back?

They’ll have avoided contact visits in the latter half of 2022 so SS didn’t see her pregnant.

All for nothing.

It has to be drugs. What other reason could there be for not turning up for contact? And the chaos and lack of self care. I’m trying to remember with other awful cases whether it came out during the trial or after that the parents were drug addled degenerates. I’m sure there are some where the full extent was only apparent afterwards. There’s always an awful lot more after the trial than what we hear during it. And given the huge sensitivities here with the other children I’m not surprised not much info is getting out.

I’ve also been on the fence with Victoria not having any warm clothes etc and thinking just because they’re not specifically mentioned it doesn’t necessarily mean she didn’t have them. But based on what was said today it does seem more likely than not

The tent is interesting too. We have a bell tent and we have a wood burner for it. You could conceivably live quite contentedly in it. But I wonder if “festival tent” means the tiny pop up ones you take to a festival?

It isn’t excusing that she left. I for one made an assumption that she’d flounced off back to him. It doesn’t make it okay, it’s just understanding that the reason is not what was first thought

I wonder if there's proof that they were in fact present in court for this hearing? I doubt it after all this time but I could be doing them a disfavour. Just seems out of character for them to want to comply with any authority.

Child II was born 2021 or early 2022 - and by December ‘22 she was full term with Victoria. They might have avoided contact specifically to conceal her pregnancy.

I can’t see how it could be drugs at the start, with the first baby. CM was in a foster placement with the baby and then they had full parental responsibility given back to them.

Same here on the clothes.

I also thought a bell tent - it’s not clear

Good question.

They (or at least she) did comply with Child FF though, enough to be deemed okay to be signed off from SS supervision.

I just thought the way it had been reported in the past made it sound like they had just abandoned the baby, when actually they did have a good reason to leave. I'm not making excuses for them, they should have come straight back and had the covid test done.

It’s a good point about them concealing the pregnancy but wouldn’t they just not arrange to be there at that time? Rather than not turning up? I’ve no idea how these things work. Nor what the fuck was going through their fucked up minds. Idiots.

Fascinating stuff

So the DV incident wasn’t a one off incident that got the children removed -it’s potentially a one off incident in the context of a couple who already have extensive SS involvement.

Utterly bizarre that they left the child for a court hearing only to refuse a Covid test to return. I suspect that’s not quite to whole story, maybe it’ll be expanded upon
